Positive aspects of the product (pros): Easy Log Flume Type Attraction, Kid-Friendly Cons: Lines Can Get Long, Boring Queue
Maelstrom is a fun log flume type ride that has one drop. Not as high as Splash Mountain, but a bit more exciting than the small drop in Pirates of the Caribbean. Watch out for the troll who will cast a little spell on your Viking boat. If you don't have time for the movie after arriving in the fishing village, simply walk straight through the theater afterward.

This attraction is one of my favs at World Showcase. The water ride can be a little scary for kids (& adults .. 
). Once you have seen the movie at the end, try to walk past it after the 1st time.

This is a fun ride, our whole family enjoys it, it's not our favorite by any means but enjoyable. It is similar to Pirates of the Carribbean if I have to relate it to something. I like the surprise turning of your boat, I didn't expect that. This isn't something we would flock to at rope drop but something we do like to experience on our trips.

Not the most exciting boat ride Disney's ever done, but it's enjoyable and the A/C is often cranked up on it so it's a good place to cool off on a hot day. The queue line is indoors too so that makes waiting in line (if there is one) more bearable.

This is one of my must do's at EPCOT. I really enjoy the ride. I like the trolls and the story is interesting. I usually walk through the movie atthe end. The narrator's accent is always interesting.

This attraction needs some attention. It has potential and just needs some imagineers to sit down and work on some improvements.

Overall, the flume ride is nice although it would benefit from the imagineers plussing it a bit. Parts of it may be a tad scary for little ones.
The movie at the end really needs to be updated and it is a little embarrassing to see everyone bolt through the theater to not have to watch the movie.

Not that there are a lot of choices, but this is the best ride in World Showcase and makes for a fun trip through some cute scenes (though I suspect the giant polar bear and angry trolls might upset little ones). Try to catch it when the wait is short; one good thing about the line is it tends to move quickly.
While I enjoy the movie at the end, it's very dated in some parts (hello 80s!) and needs to be updated sometime soon. Worth seeing at least once, but I understand why people tend to rush through the theater without watching.

The ride itself isn't all that bad, but the fact that you aren't allowed to leave until the theater is empty makes it hard for me to go on the ride. Having to wait around for the movie to end and the crowd to empty out before we're even allowed to get to the door to the exit is just bad planning.

Everyone in my family enjoys this ride, but would like it more if it were longer. The movie after the ride is worth seeing every once in a while, but we typically walk through the theater and skip it.

This ride has been around forever but I still enjoy it. The ride is short and usually the lines are too. It is a less thrilling boat ride than Splash Mountain so people who are too scared to go on those rides can take their kids on this one.

This is a must do for us. It's a great way to escape the heat. We've never waited more than 10 minutes to ride. The queue is boring, but the ride theming is a lot of fun and is classic Disney. We have been on it when little kids were on the boat (approx ages 3-5) and they were scared by some of the trolls.
I've never stayed for the movie afterward, so I can't comment on that.
One thing I don't like is the way they force you to walk all the way through the store to get out. There are doors near the theater exit, but they block them so you have to go all the way through. When everyone is leaving, it bottlenecks back into the store making it even harder to get out, or even to browse through the store if you actually wanted to.

This is easily the most thrilling ride in World Showcase, but again - if you don't like trolls, you won't like this! Oh - and can we get rid of the movie at the end so we can just LEAVE, already? It's like we are being held hostage! Apparently the Norwegians are big fans of holding people against their will.

Great theming in this quaint little town in Norway. The cast members are always very nice and welcoming. Take a look at the huge mural before boarding....there are secret hidden Mikeys hiding. According to the cast member, there a large number of them in the mural.

This is a cute, if unexciting, ride. "Go Back!"
I have stayed and watched the movie, and I like to talk to the cast members in World Showcase about their home countries anyway. But the process needs to be rethought, as others have pointed out you are held in a waiting area at the end of the boat ride until the movie completes. If you were just expecting a ride, then you would be confused by the locked door at the end.
As someone else pointed out, they make you walk through the gift shop. But this is Disney, and almost every ride empties out into a gift shop!

this is my favorite ride in the world showcase. it's really short, but fun! there are 2 drops (one goes backwards and one goes forwards) but don't worry, they are very small (both are smaller than the one on pirates) and you barely get wet.

I have no problem with the ride itself. My issue is after the ride. After the ride you are stuck in a holding area waiting to go into a theater to watch a video on Norway. Can you skip it.... Sure, but you cant leave the holding area until the movie resets... to skip just walk right through... SO TECHNICALLY YOU CANT SKIP THE WAIT.
I saw no sign indicating what was up. We must have just exited the ride when the movie started because we had to wait what seemed like 15 minutes for the doors to open.
This ride desperately needs a sign telling you whats up and a by pass it pathway.

Great ride with lots of potential. The Scandinavian themeing give lots of possibilites. Updates would be a good idea. I like the movie, but others who want to skip it or those getting off of the ride when the movie is going need a way to exit the building since there's only one way out. Overall, an enjoyable attraction.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): small but nice Cons: the wait at the end for the movie
When it comes to touring World Showcase, I say why not go on this ride? It's nice, it's fun. The only bad part is having to wait for the movie to reset after the ride, but then you can skip the movie by walking through if you like. Just go for it once.
