Description: A relaxing 13-minute boat ride takes you on an informative journey through a tropical rain forest, an African desert complete with sandstorm, and the windswept plains of a small, turn-of-the-century family farm. Guests experience the struggles of the past and plans for farming in the future including Hydroponics, Aeroponics and Aquaculture. It's not just about fruits and veggies; there are also fish farms are on display. Since The Land is a Disney restaurant supplier, you could very well be seeing your entree. Wonder where those Mickey shaped cucumbers in your salad came from? This is where they're grown.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): quick line and good for a cool down on a hot day
Cons: its about plants?

this is an okay ride problem is its too focused on one subject so if you don't like or care for plants then you might not like it

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

We last rode this in May 2010. It was a walk on. The beginning is a little boring but I enjoyed riding through the greenhouses and seeing all the different things that Disney grows.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Interesting tour
Cons: kids may be bored, hard to tell

This is a nice boat ride and educational tour. I actually go on it every time I visit WDW. It's especially good if you're killing time waiting on that fast pass window for Soarin'.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): a nice look behind the scenes of how WDW grows their food and in what techniques
Cons:

If you like this ride and don't mind learning a little more while on vacation, sign up for the "Behind the Seed Tour." The tour lasts about 45 minutes and you learn techniques that you yourself can do at home to grow fruits and vegetables.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): behind the scens look at the greenhouses
Cons: not everyone wants to learn while on vacation

I love being able to see the greenhouses where plants and fish are raised at Epcot. Living with the land is a perfect way to spend time waiting for a fastpass to soarin to become valid

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Relaxing and informative
Cons: not for kids as much

Call me crazy but I love this attraction. A word of advice though, never ride while hungry. It will make you more hungry.

Cons:

this is one of those rides you can skip, not sure why they have a fast pass for it, because all you do is take a boat trip around gardens indoors

Positive aspects of the product (pros): One of my favorite attractions. VERY relaxing and informative. Rarely much of a wait.
Cons: audio recording in place of live host is cheap/immpersonal.

Always look forward to riding this attraction. Great way to sit, relax and watch/hear the wonderful things here. The big complaint I have is eleminating the live tour guide. They were always very engaging and you could ask questions. The recording is very lame and was a HUGE disappointment on our last trip. If not for that, it would get a 10. Great ride, though.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): relaxing and informational
Cons: pre-recorded audio

This is a nice relaxing attraction. It was better in the past when they had a cast member on each boat doing the narration and answering questions. I miss that a lot. The current narration is still very informative, just not interactive as it was in the past.

If you look up and to your left during the farm house scene you will see part of the Garden Grill restaurant.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): good for the gardener/kids
Cons: can be boring for teens

This boat ride is educational. It does teach you a lot about how Disney's grows their own foods. Hidden Mickeys too Smile

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

This ride is okay, but I think it's lost something since the narration is no longer done by a cast member. It's worth riding if you haven't seen it before, but I don't consider it a must do.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Educational and Informative
Cons: May be boring to younger kids

This is one of the few rides that lives up to the original concept of Epcot: Edutainment. You start off going through some show scenes of different environments and how those environments effect farming and vegetation. The second half of the ride goes through working greenhouses.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): opening scenes are very good; also interesting if interested in agriculture
Cons: limited appeal to everyone in my family

The first part show various ecosystems, some of which are also visible from the rotating restaurant above. Then the ride shows various farming and agricultural systems. My children usually do not enjoy this ride.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): The green house with the huge hidden Mickey
Cons: Seeing the fish can be hard for people who are sensitive to animal rights

This attraction is actually very interesting. There is something about the leisurely pace of the boat mixed with the brightness of the green house that is very welcoming and relaxing. I'm not crazy about the fish/crocodile room, and the AA section isn't all that wonderful (though I dig the simple storm effects), but the ride over all is worth doing atleast once.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Interesting ride, lots to look at
Cons: Live guide was better

Very enjoyable attraction with lots of things to see, even though some of the 'state of the art' farming tech they're showing off was state of the art in 1982 and not so much now. Previously, the boats had a cast member as the 'guide' explaining things; I preferred that as occasionally they were willing to answer questions on the tour. Still, an old favorite.
If you're very interested in the greenhouse part of the ride, look into the Behind the Seeds tour for a closer look.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): educationally entertaining, relaxing ride
Cons: the removal of the live guide

The younger crowd may get fidgety, it's a bit long. But once the kids see the aquariums of fish & alligators, and then the unique foods in the greenhouse, they'll perk right up!

Much more appreciated by the older crowd, but entertaining enough for the younger ones.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): educational
Cons: can be boring/ greenhouse is too short

Living with the land is a good way to get away from the noise in the Land. It is educational, but slighted. The greenhouses are interesting.

Ity can be boring for people who are not interested in gardening. Also, if the ride gets stuck, stay in the boat. The cast members will eventually get you out after 45 minutes or so. Do not go through the emergency exits. There is no way out.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): relaxing educational ride
Cons: not enough "bells and whistles" for some

Love the classic Epcot theme here. Educational but entertaining at the same time. Has the potential to be a bit boring for smaller ones but my 5yo actually enjoyed it and made me tell her what each of the fruits and vegetables in the green house were.

And that's what makes this ride so great for me, it actually made my daughter interested in learning about different foods and farming techniques.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Nemo!
Cons: To Quick

We were excited about going on this ride. The queue line was void of any theming and seemed to take forever, but the ride was great and worth the wait.

Being in the sea with Nemo and friends was very cool.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Educational and entertaining
Cons: Might be a little too educational for young children that don't care about plants

I love this ride, without doubt one of my favorites at Epcot. It's a slow moving boat ride that takes you through different (faux) environments, like a rain forest and a desert and then into Disney's green houses and aquacultural fish farms. You get to see some very unique growing techniques, plants and animals. It has a very "behind the scenes" feel to it.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): provides some downtime, away from the hustle and bustle
Cons: some could find it boring

My DS, who was 5 at the time, gets bored easily. Yet, this and Beauty and the Beast live on stage were his top favourites at Disney. My DD,was 7, she also loved this. I literally had to tear them away from the ride. After about the 4th time around. I think I would have fallen asleep the 5th time. This year I'm going to take them on the Behind the Seeds tour. Then maybe we won't need to ride so many times. If you want to relax in air conditioning with a short line..this is the ride for you...bring a pillow and catch a 13 minute nap..lol.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Relaxing
Cons: could use some updating

I really enjoy this attraction. I would like to see a little more from the farming area and the new technologies. I always make sure to ride this at least once.
