Description: "Journey Into Imagination With Figment" is one of those often overlooked gems. You board a car and you're on your way through a journey of sight, sound and smell. It's hosted by the lovable Figment (a character created from the saying "figment of your imagination") and Dr. Nigel Channing, portrayed by Eric Idle of Monty Python fame (he also appears in Honey I Shrunk the Audience.)

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Figment
Cons: Boring

Other than Figment, this is a boring attraction. Between this & EO, completely bypassed this attraction during my recent visit.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): short lines
Cons: more about the senses then imagination

its a cute ride but theres a reason why theres never a long line. it concentrates more on the senses than it does imagination. the original was SO much better.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Fun
Cons: none

Having never experienced the old , I love the new but it is interesting that many of you like the old maybe they can incorporate the two and have a really super duper ride. My favorite because the year they were doing the dream fastpasses we recieved them going into figment.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Captain EO is Back!
Cons: Does not remotely compare to the original

This attraction is one of the biggest flops in Disney history. I remember the first attraction and it was perfect on the first try. It was such a hit with the visitors that the line would go nearly to "The Land" next door. The ride was wonderfull! The "Image Works" upstairs was great as well. Now, the upstairs is just wasted space. I was just there with MY kids, and even they did not think much of the attraction. The first thing out of my kids mouths after the ride was, "Is that it?" That says it all! This is a case were the Disney people will not admit they made a huge mistake and WILL NOT fix it back to what it was.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Figment is the main draw here
Cons: train part may frighten younger guests

I had never ridden this ride. In fact i dont recall ever seeing it on a map.... though it might be because at age 19 i probably wouldnt have ridden it anyway. But years later, I absolutely loved it. My last experience with figment was when he was found at the exit to spaceship earth. (that was many many years ago.... back before Ellen was in the energy ride. think the 80s) He was my favorite character. This ride just captures everything about him that i loved.

Bring your kids or just relive your childhood... either way its a great ride

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Figment
Cons: Eric Idle, resorting to television rather than animatronics

The first thing I noticed was zero lines here. In fact, our family of 7 rode by ourselves during spring break! It was completely deserted, which baffled me because this was my favorite ride growing up and I remember it being busy.

Disney changed this ride to be a scientific sensory experiment rather than its original purpose of exploring with one's imagination. The use of cartoons and television screens rather than animatronics made us feel as though we could be at home watching this ride, why go to the park? There was one or two scenes that glimpsed at the original version.

If anyone actually reads these reviews, please bring back the original Dream Finder or at the very least re-evaluate how you are attempting to achieve the concept of "Imagination". Currently, it is confusing. And we understood immediately why no one was there.

The games at the end all seem to be geared towards you buying a kodak picture for $20. Nothing too playful about this.

The ride attendants all agreed that the original was much better! Please bring it back!

Regardless, Disney is incredible and Epcot holds many great memories for us. Thanks!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Figment
Cons: I can't get past them changing it. :(

I remembered this one from my trip in high school as my very favorite at EPCOT, and up there with Pirates and the Haunted Mansion from the MK.

This... It was just wrong. Meh, and double meh.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Figment, colorful scenes
Cons: Short duration, Eric Idle

While the latest version of Journey Into Imagination is a cute ride, it is a pale imitation of the original version. This isn't just because Dreamfinder is gone or Figment is less exciting either. The issue resides with the entire tone, which loses the magic and resorts to tricks. A few scenes did make me smile, particularly with the familiar song. But the rest is easily forgettable.

It's hard to complain too much because there is never a line for this ride. It's a mild, pleasant break from a hot day in Florida. And getting away from the headliners and the big crowds isn't always a bad thing.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Never a wait
Cons: Has to do with senses, not imagination; Figment is a warped version of the playful original; no Dreamfinder

I know, I know. We always compare this to the original. Is that fair? I say "yes." The original version was a true classic and a gem, and the Dreamfinder & Figment team was the face for Epcot before the other characters got through the gate. The technological marvel that it was was either gutted or built over to make room for some projection screens. Why is the second floor closed? JiI used to evoke such emotion, wonder, and excitement, and this just doesn't evoke anything special. It's a shell of what it was or could be.

The only reason why I recommend it is because there is never a wait, so it's no big commitment. I'd rather wait in a 30 minute queue for the original version that have no wait for this.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): usually not a long line
Cons:

In it's original version, this was my favorite attraction. After the various changes through the years, it is still a favorite, but not quite as much as before.

Following the character Figment through various tests of the senses is an adventure. The sense of fun that Figment brings to this attraction is a real plus.

There is normally not a long line to get on this attraction, so it's a great place to go when you need to get out of the heat for a while.

Be sure to spend some time exploring the interactive areas at the end of this attraction. Our kids have so much fun in that area.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Figment and never waiting on a line to ride
Cons:

Being that I never had the opportunity to ride the original I can not compare but I really enjoy riding this every time. Figment is one of the best characters ever created and One Little Spark is a great song that I think really makes you feel warm inside. And you really do not have to wait on line to ride.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

There's a reason there's never a line for this ride - there's just nothing imaginative about it. The best thing about this pavilion is the jumping water fountains outside.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Cool ride
Cons: None

This is a favorite of mine and I like the way they themed it and tied it in with the Honey I shrunk the audience attraction next door, This is a must see I love it.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Return of Figment!
Cons: The fact that Figment left in the first place

It goes without saying that anyone familiar with the current and original incarnations of this ride will doubtless prefer the original. However, in and of itself, Journey into Imagination is cute, clever and generally quite entertaining. Perhaps even better, it is rare that there is more than a 5-10 minute wait for this air-conditioned attraction.

One thing to be aware of ahead of time is: Disney makes use of its "Smellitizer" in this attraction while the ride vehicle is stationed in the Smell Lab. Unlike the delightful aromas of Soarin', here you are doused with a highly realistic skunk scent. Luckily, it only lasts about 2-3 seconds, but if you have a sensitive sniffer, it can be quite repulsive.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

At one point an excellent ride, renovations have taken much of the original charm out of it. You can expect to almost never find a line and that's for a reason. Go here if you want to cool off.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): numerous funny sight (and other senses) gags, figment returns
Cons: not as good as the original

Better than the second version, but the original was orders of magnitude better, limiting how well this can be rated. Someone who has never seen the original will probably enjoy this more. You can usually see this with minimal lines.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Figment is a wonderful character
Cons: Reputation of the previous version holds it back

I never got to experience the old Figment attraction, so I have no comparison. But I really dig this version. I am a Figment fan so this ride is very cute to me. The scenes are well designed, though the sound does get a bit unbalanced through shifts in the scenes.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): short line, Figment
Cons: definitely for children

Some rides are cheesy classic Disney that we all love, but this ride is the bad cheesy, at least for the adults/teens. I love Figment, but this is best left to entertain the wee ones - they will love it!

Even better are the fountains out front - I could watch people playing in those for hours!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): no lines, fun, cute for the kids
Cons: original was better, a couple of spots need "more"

The ride itself is fun and there are usually never any long lines, but there are two things keeping this attraction from being more popular. 1) the original was done better. 2)The ride itself although cute feels like it is missing that extra touch in a couple of places.

Cons: May not interest older kids

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Rarely has a line
Cons:

This attraction never seems to have a wait. It is a great time filler and a good way to beat the heat for a bit.
