Description: Closed 5/10/2010. Captain EO is now appearing at this attraction.

"Honey I Shrunk the Audience" is found at the Magic Eye Theater located at the "Imagination" pavilion. It debuted in 1994 and is still a fairly popular attraction. FASTPASS is offered, but not often necessary. "Honey I Shrunk the Audience" is shown in 3D so you'll be given special glasses to wear. After the pre-show, you're ushered into the theater. The movie is set in the Imagination Institute where Professor Wayne Szalinski (Rick Moranis of "Honey, I..." movies fame) is being honored with the "Inventor of the Year" award. The emcee of the event is Dr. Nigel Channing (Eric Idle of Monty Python.) You'll also find him featured in the 'Journey into your Imagination' ride that's on the other side of this pavilion.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Very cute show
Cons: Miss this. Get rid of EO and bring this back or put something else there.

I liked it when it was hista. Skipped it completely on the last trip since it was closed and EO was there. They need to either bring it back or get rid of both and put something new there.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Nothing worth mentioning
Cons: Too many to mention

This is a review of Captain EO 3-D. My 18/15 year old sons and I visited back in 12/10. The new Captain EO 3-D show was horrible. Bad 3-D effects (Almost as bad as the "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience"'s 3-D "effects"), stupid story line, awful characters/costuming, etc. etc.....We couldn't wait to leave. Basically a cheap Michael Jackson video. One of the worse attractions at WDW. The administrators at Disney need to stop spending so much money building brand new attractions right now and replace current ones that need to go, like Captain EO and Stitch's Great Escape. PLEASE don't waste your time here. Disney hits slam dunks most of the time, but this time they didn't even show up for the game. Come on, Disney. You're better than this!!!!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): nothing
Cons: all things

WE too were disappointed. I like MJ's music but this was just aweful we couldn't wait to leave!! WE took my 70 year old parents telling them how cool all the effects were and we were extremly frustrated with how poor this was. I sure hope they have something better working in their imaginations to replace this!! Certainly not their best works!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): inside attraction (air conditioning, that's about it...)
Cons: Horrible Boring Music Video

This review is for Captain EO, which now, sadly, occupies this space. Horrible, boring, brain-cell killing, pitiful garbage. DO NOT waste your valuable Disney vacation time. Who goes to Epcot to see 20 year old cheesy music videos??? Let's put this attraction with Michael Jackson, in the ground.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Fun show
Cons: Long Commercial Intro

It's a good show once you get to it. There is a half-hour commercial prior to the show for Kodak and it has nothing to do with the show. All the while you stand because it's outside the auditorium. I'm sorry but when the other attractions don't spend that long with an advertising intro, this one just isn't worth the time.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Exciting, Entergetic, and Fun
Cons: Outdated

This is a fun show to see because the kids get REALLY into it. It is a great show to a classic movie and should be kept always and forever. Maybe a different show story because the ride is getting old.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Has possibilities w/updating.
Cons: VERY outdated!

This attraction has promise, but there's much to be desired. Wait times are much too long. The 3-D is of very poor quality. The show "draggs" much of the time. Need a HUGE dose of updating

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Theater effects, energetic show
Cons: Needs an update

When it replaced Captain EO, this show offered improved effects and a fun atmosphere. But it's well past its prime and needs either an update or a completely new attraction. The theater effects, particularly the hordes of mice, still cause a stir. These clever tricks earn a slight recommendation but aren't enough to warrant repeat visits. The 3D technology has come a long way in recent years and could be used to greatly enhance this former headliner.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Cool in theater effects
Cons: The "Honey I Shrunk the ____" franchise has been dead for a long time now...

Fun. Worth seeing it once or twice in your life. Needs a new incarnation.

I'd rather see Captain EO than see this movie again. Now THAT was a fantastic show!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Some fun effects
Cons: Time for returb/retirement

Some effects are still original and fun!

Needs updating, sometimes effects make me feel a bit woozy. My least fave 3D show.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): air conditioned
Cons: outdated, motion sickness

I was told I would enjoy this ride and thought I would after enjoying "It's Tough to be a Bug", but was very disappointed afterwards. The story with the attraction lacked and the room jerked my friend around so much she ended up getting sick when it was over. I would not go on this attraction again unless they updated it.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Cool effects.
Cons: I hate when shows TOUCH ME!!

DON'T GO TO THIS RIDE IS YOU ARE AFRAID OF MICE!! That part does not let you escape. Even putting your legs up doesn't work. That part alone ruins the show for me.

Cons:

This is a cute show for the 1st time. But I didn't need to see it again. I think it is better for children.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Good 3D effects
Cons: May be scary for young children

The theme of this 3D movie is a bit dated but its still good. Some of the extra touches might be a bit too intense for young children.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): clever effects
Cons: can be scarey

I love 3d but this had lots of extra surprises and the first time I did this experience I did say I would never do it again as some of the "surprises" were quite freaky!! If you ont like mice, snakes ect then I would be prepared of skip this attraction!!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): cool place to sit down
Cons: outdated, can be scary

This show is really outdated. The effects can be a little frightening, especially if you're afraid of mice, and may frighten kids afraid of snakes. Worth going to once to decide for yourself.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): good memories
Cons: old

Beacause this attraction is a bit outdated...and my twin boys have never seen the movie. I decided to skip it. I was shocked on the way home my daughter asked for this movie.....and said she was bummed out because she missed the movie - Go Figure!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): several hilarious effects, particularly when unexpected on first viewing
Cons: has become dated, pre-show is a long commercial

The characters have not maintained themselves in the social consciousness, so only the people that remember the movies understand the underlying premise.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Childhood memories
Cons: Very dated, Very very long pre-show

A sentimental favorite. I first saw this in '96 so I think I just remember it back when it still worked well. Now it is a bit broke-down, but still cute. Much better if you have seen the movies in the Honey, I... series. I would hate to see it go, but perhaps it is time. It is definately time to get rid of that horribly long pre-show!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Air conditioned
Cons: Could scare little kids, Outdated

This 3-D movie is cute, but could be scary for little children. It's a place for air conditioning and for sitting. This needs to be updated. A little too much Kodak inspired for me.
