Description: The roar of mini gas-powered sports cars and the smell of exhaust fumes indicate that you're at the Tomorrowland Speedway. Guests drive their cars around a 2000-foot track (on a rail) at death defying speeds of up to 7 miles per hour. This attraction is most appealing to young children, but children must be 52" or taller to drive alone. If you get behind a slow driver, the 4 minute ride can be even longer and a simulated bumper car ride may ensue. In spite of the 4 lanes of track, this ride is slow to load and the line-up to get off is even slower.
Guests in wheelchairs must be able to transfer from their chairs.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

Rode this around 12:20am on 2/24, as the wait was only about 10 minutes. My roommate and I each took our own car. The track was longer than I was expecting, but the car was very difficult to steer-way more difficult to drive than a real car!

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons: Fumes, steering wheel doesn't work right

The smell was the worst part. I used to work at a gas station and it wasn't as bad as that smell.
Very un-disney-like.
Plus the turnes we took using the steering wheel had absolutely no relevance to the turns the car actually made.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): None
Cons: Many

LONG, slow wait. VERY slow and boring. Blazing hot. Gas fumes. No theme at all. Takes up lots of valuable space for such a poor ride. Needs to be replaced ASAP.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Everything
Cons: None

I love everything about this attraction. It is great for the kids to get that driving experience and atmosphere. For most parents, it is a great time to relax and enjoy seeing your kids having a great time. Can have long waits at times. You are pretty limited on how you drive with the barricades and your car is tremendously slow.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons: smell, wait times

I guess the better answer as to whether I would recommend this is....maybe. For myself, I avoid it because I don't like the smells from the cars and I think the wait times are far too long. I also don't like the way the cars handle.

My kids on the other hand, love this attraction. I've started letting my son do the driving now that he's 9 years old. At least it gives me a chance to look around and appreciate some of the scenery.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): kids get to drive
Cons: long wait, irritating fumes, bad drivers, un-Disney theme, breakdowns, old

I think this ride has FAR outlived its life. It's unoriginal,I can ride better cars at a better track with less of a wait at the Jersey shore. The theme is poor, I only like the cast members uniforms. The wait, like the overall drive of the car, is a joke. To wait 40 - 70 minutes for a ride that has very little atmosphere (unless you like a loud made up motor noise and fumes that could choke a horse) a weak sputtering car and an old and worn - down track could be well spent at another Disney-themed ride, or just walking around and looking at the details of the MK. architecture

Positive aspects of the product (pros): long ride
Cons: bumpy, loud,

This can be really bumpy on the back...I don't know if they need new cars or what. It's fun for someone who isn't old enough to drive. For some reason, my 3 year old granddaughter hated it and kept trying to climb out...she hit, kicked and bit her dad trying to get out...she was really scared. Who knows...

Positive aspects of the product (pros): kiddies can drive
Cons: Long hot stinky cue and Yikes! kiddies can drive!

Not a very green ride. This is old and out dated. The car is hard to drive and uncomforatable to get into and out of. The cue is hot and stinky with gas fumes.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): fun ride for all ages, kids can drive
Cons: wait can be long

The Speedway is fun. You can have your child drive you and they love that. It is a classic ride I think should not be missed, go at least once. You get a good view of the area too.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): great for kids wanting to drive
Cons: very long lines

Should go on this ride shortly after park opening. Even when my daughter culd not reach the pedal, she could steer while I pressed on the pedal and loved it. Of course, ahe struck the central beam more often than not. This ride also pales in comparison to DL's Autopia.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): kids feel like they are driving
Cons: long line, lacking theme

If you have ever been on a "car" ride at your local park then stay away from this ride. The wait is usually an hour or longer and the ride isn't much different than what you get at home.

If you have a youngster that insists on riding it then by all means take them on it because it's not a bad ride, it's just not unique.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): great place for a break, good views
Cons: can break down occasionally

Our family loves this ride, it is a must do every visit to the Magic Kingdom. You get some good views of the castle & Tomorrowland on this ride. Ride it night for a different ride experience. We saw Space Mountain with the lights on once while on the ride (that was cool). I like seeing the original model of EPCOT, looking for the hidden mickeys. The ride does break down a few times, but not for very long (usually minutes in my experience). Almost always a short line to get on and a nice break to rest the feet.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Fun for kids
Cons: Kind of dull for everyone else, long line

If you're going to do this, try to do it after dark; it makes the ride more interesting and the wait a lot cooler as part of the queue is in direct sunlight.
It's about time to update this with some new tech for the cars. It'd be nice to see something a little more environmentally friendly than the stinky lawnmower engines - it is supposed to be "Tomorrow"land, after all.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): park original
Cons: out dated

The young kids might like it but I think it's out dated. The line is long and there isn't much shade. The cars are VERY slow and most have poor stirring so you end up bouncing off the metal groove on the track.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Kids love this ride
Cons: Slow-moving queue - why can't they open all the lanes?

The Speedway is a perinnial favorite of the younger crowd, as they get to experience "driving" the cars. (I remember this type of ride being one of my favorites as a kid, too). I only rated this lower because the lines move so slowly, and at least a portion of the queue is in the hot sun. Invariably, we will get to the top of the queue and realize that all of the lanes are not open - even on the busiest days! (drives me crazy!) Plan on spending at least 30 minutes in queue, unless you are the very first to ride.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Fun
Cons: LONG WAITS, confusing boarding sometimes

Is a fun ride, not necessarily a must ride, but enjoyable. The lines are long, and sometimes not worth it.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

I love getting into my car and tooling around the Magic Kingdom and enjoying the views of the castle and the rides. My kids love this ride because it is cars and it is Magic Kingdom. It's not our favorite attraction but is one we have fun at every year. The theming is fun and my son thinks he is in an Indy race whenever we ride it and was thrilled he was tall enough to drive his dad this year!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Cars
Cons: Stinky and long wait

My son loved this ride when small. It's great for kids tall enough because they can drive. It does smell from all the exhaust fumes, yuck.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): fune for little kids
Cons: long line, hot sun. long line

As hard as I try to avoid it, my kids always want to ride once on a trip. It's such an awful long wait, so we either got very early or very late. If it's hot out, forget it, there's no breeze and so much sun it's not worth it.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons: slow moving line

This is a slow moving line and the cars do not move much faster. Its cute for the little ones who want to drive a car but if you have long legs its not easy to get in and out of.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons: Long Hot Queue Lines, Gas Fumes, Slow Loading

The Indy Speedway is one of those "been there, done that" type attractions. Once you've done it, you never really want to stand in the long lines inhaling gas fumes again. If you can catch it on a cooler day, with a short wait, it could be fun. On a summer's day, I would rather not risk the sunstroke for this ride though.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Fun for really young kids
Cons: Slow loading, boring

I think this may be my least favorite in any park. The line is super slow, the ride is boring at best, only fun for really little kids that don't have a power wheels car at home.
