Description: Tomorrowland's Astro Orbiter takes you spinning high over the Magic Kingdom in Buck Rogers style rockets.
This is not for anyone with a fear of heights. Not only can you move your rocket 'up', you have to take an elevator to get to the loading area. The views are great but make no mistake, this is much, much higher than Dumbo.
You'll often see a line for the Astro Orbiter. Between taking the elevator and not being able to accommodate a lot of guests per ride, this one requires patience. Wheelchair guests must be able to transfer to the attraction.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great view of the park
Cons: Wait times always seem really long

This ride is lots of fun for the little ones. They will enjoy flying up and down in a rocket. However, the older kids and the adults will probably find it quite boring.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons: Least efficient ride ever

I decided to give this a spin as part of my quest to do all the attractions in Disney World. It was around midnight and the wait was not very long. I knew this ride involved taking an elevator to the top, but I never realized quite how inefficient this was. The amount of people that the elevators can hold is very small, and this leads to gigantic backlogs, plus the ride itself is not continuously loading.

Once I reached the top, I strapped myself in and we were up, up, and away. It does spin kind of fast and I pulled the lever towards me to raise it up higher, then found out that it is very difficult to push it all the way forward to lower yourself again-I spent far more time up in the air than I would have liked.

I don't recommend this ride at all.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Breath-Taking Views
Cons: Incredibly Long Quene For A Short Ride

A nice attraction that provides a great view of the MK. I would highly not recommend this ride if you are afraid of heights or waiting in lines drives you up the wall. This ride is a one-time deal, but worth the one time.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Stunning views
Cons: Slow loading

The Astro Orbiter offers an exciting, unique view of the Magic Kingdom during a brief ride above Tomorrowland. It's especially cool at night, when the park is lit up and festive.

The primary downsides are the small capacity and slow loading process, which involves sending a small group up in an elevator. The cars are also really small, especially if you want to ride with a partner.

Overall, however, Astro Orbiter is worth the ride, especially if the wait times aren't beyond 20-30 minutes.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): You can see all of the Magic Kingdom
Cons: You can see all of the Magic Kingdom! Very high!

Very high up and the cars are very small. My friend and I felt like a 10 pound sausage squeezed into a 5 pound casing!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): View from up there
Cons: Dizziness, confinement in elevator

I went on this ride once and let's just say it'll be the last time. It made me very sick, eventhough it doesn't seem to go very fast. The horrible part was coming down in the elevator after the ride with a girl who insisted if she didn't get out of there right that instant she was goin to throw up! I think I'll pass on this ride, once was definitely enough!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): The view
Cons: you go in circles

Typical carnival type ride. You go in circles and control the up down. Not worth the wait

Positive aspects of the product (pros): great views
Cons: can be very long lines

The elevation provides a little more exciting ride than the other Dumbo-stle rides and allows for great views of the park and the Contemporary.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): great view
Cons: long que, dizzy, heights

Not a big fan but I get too dizzy. I went on because I have to do it all once at least. It has a great view if you can stand looking while going around. Seats are small too. Good concept design.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Good view of the park.
Cons: Weird angle for adults. Short.

Skip this. The vehicles are at a weird, uncomfortable angle and getting to the loading area in a cramped elevator is unpleasant. The view is good but I prefer the TTA.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): view of the park
Cons: queue, wait time

like Dumbo only higher. Unfortunately they somehow managed to take the long slow queue of Dumbo and make it worse. Whatever the posted wait time is expect to wait double the time.

That being said if the wait time isn't more than 10-15 mins this ride is worth it for the view alone.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Nice view of the park and surrounding area
Cons: Can be a long wait

This is a fun ride if you can get on it with a short wait. It has limited capacity and tends to be a slow loader only small groups at a time can go up the elevator to the load area.
Pretty at night when you can see the MK and the surrounding resort area lit up. Not for those who get dizzy easily or are afraid of heights.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great Views
Cons: Very Long Lines, Slow Loading

Wonderful views of the park. Goes around much faster than Dumbo and Aladdin, so more of a thrill.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Classic
Cons: Long Lines

My least favorite dumbo style ride. The views are excellent but the queue and loading are slow creating long lines no matter how busy the park is that day.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great view
Cons: Long ride, dizzy.

We had the pleasure of going into the ride while the fireworks were going. It was an amazing experience. Unfortunately, we were holding on for dear life after an employee told us it was OK to fit two in the orbiter while only one was wearing a seatbelt.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great view of Tomorrowland
Cons: Cars are tight fit for adults, long loading process

I give this a 7, as it's great for children and gives everyone a wonderful view of Tomorrowland. However, the loading time can be very long. Also, the cars are very tight for adults needing leg room.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great views
Cons: higher and faster than it looks!

I got a little scared on this one! It's higher and faster than it looks from the ground. Not horrible, but more than I expected. Great views of the park, especially at night. Kind of tough to get in and out of the rocket, especially for people of size. Lots of fun.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great Views
Cons: Small seats, Motion Sickness, Long Lines

We like this ride, but don't very often go on it because of the way it loads. The elevator makes loading very long and causes the lines to become long very early. There are great views of the Magic Kingdom which make it worth riding.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great views
Cons: long lines, small cars

The views from the top are great, especially at night. Although we tend to ride this first thing in the morning, so the line is semi-bearable. The ride up in the elevator seems so long. My kids loved this when they were younger...now at 9 & 14 they actually opted to skip it on our last trip.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great view of Tomorrowland
Cons: The uncomfortable seating, the long lines

This ride is another spinning ride similar to Dumbo, but on top of Tomorrowland. The queue can be quite long, and riding up in the elevator seems inefficient and time-consuming. Wedging yourself into the uncomfortable rockets seems incongruous with other rides.

On the other hand, my daughter loves it, and insists we ride each trip!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great Views, Height Provides Bigger Thrill
Cons: Often Very Very Long Lines.

I like the Astro Orbiter and like the Jungle Cruise there's a difference between riding during the day and at night. During the day, you get a good view of the bustling crowds below in Tomorrowland. At night, the lights and the castle really provide a wonderful ride experience. If you time it right (and others are trying it too), it's a great place from which to watch Wishes!

However, the lines for this attraction are usually very long and although brief, the elevator ride up can be a bit claustrophobic.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great view of the park
Cons: Teenie rockets, motion sickness issues

I went on this for the first time with my kids last summer. The three of us all had to fit into one rocket and it was a tight fit. The views up there are amazing. The rockets whip around pretty fast though and typically I don't have motion sickness but felt it bigtime on this ride. I would do it again though to get that awesome view of the castle. Great ride. We hit it early in the day so there wasn't a long line, but it did take a while to load the rockets, go up on the platform, etc. so I am sure the waits are really long later in the day - so if you plan to ride do so early!
