Description: Year Opened: 1971

Follow the howls of the wolf to the special effects and ghostly gags of the Haunted Mansion, 999 happy haunts, but there's always room for one more! The mansion itself is of the Gothic style reminiscent of the 18th Century Hudson River Valley structures. Butlers and maids (always in character) greet you at the door and escort you into the library (or stretching room - does the ceiling go up or does the floor go down?) Guests move on to the awaiting Doom Buggies for their 8 minute journey through the mansion.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Everything!! Love the new queue area!
Cons:

This is my absolute FAVORITE attraction in all of Walt Disney World. Had to have rode it at least 2 dozen times during my last trip! I love the new queue area. Very cute.

Don't forget to look for the ghost horse prints in the pavement and the tombstone for Mr. Toad!

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

This ride was a walk on around 6:30pm on 10/10. The new interactive queue was not "open" because it didn't need to be, but I did see some people looking around in that area, so it seems you could go in it if you wanted to.

I appreciate this ride more and more every time I ride it.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Only gotten better
Cons:

This attraction has been recently changed with the new and improved hitchhiking ghosts and the expanded, interactive wait queue. Here is an instance where updates have, in fact, made the attraction even better than before! This ride is just all-around great fun!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Theming, New Queue!
Cons: None!

Haunted Mansion is a great ride! Even though the name implies something scary, it really is fun for the whole family! I love the new interactive queue as well!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): AWESOME!!!! A great ride.
Cons: NOTHING!!!!

We went to Walt Disney World in early March 2011 and the line was never really too long not to ride it. I have been going to Walt Disney World for over 30 years and I still swear that I see something different every time I ride it that I didn't see last time. My wife and I totally love this ride and is one of our top 5 at the Magic Kingdom.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): a classic attraction
Cons: may scare kids

a classic attraction. The Cast Members out front help add to the themeing perfectly. Its designed to be more silly than scary. The only part that freaked me out was the presho in the strecthing room and the hitchhiking ghosts at the end. The whole attraction may be scary to children.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): One of Disney's finest attractions
Cons: The darkness could scare young children

We used to tell the kids this was Mickey's way of playing a trick on us to help them be less scared. They seemed to like that!: Posted via eTicket

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

We walked on this around 11am on 5/18. I love the stretch room, and the ride got better from there. I hadn't been on it since the rehab, and I really liked the changes. My only minor issue with this ride is that it's so dark, and I have problems with night vision, so it's difficult for me to see things. We will definitely "hurry back!"

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Everything
Cons: Nothing

I can get on this ride over and over again, especially at night! I love the fairly recent revamp of the haunted gallery. It seems so much like the ghost host is circling the room as he talks! That and this is just incredibly classic and not at all ruined by Disney's "need to do something different".

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Everything
Cons:

Disney classic that never gets tiring. Creepy, but in a fun way. Good for the whole family. Though lines may be long at times, it moves really fast due to the cars/moving walkway being in continueous motion. Awesome preshow, wonderful bold themeing. Do it at night; really adds to the spookyness. Soooo much fun. Too many positives to mention. A true must-see!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): the story behind the ride/lengthy/inside and AC
Cons: none

This is a must-do! The beginning is great with the elevating ceiling and the story behind the ride is really cool. The dining room/ballroom scene is my favorite! Fastpass is available for this ride however I have never had to use it. The lines are usually pretty reasonable depending on the time of year you go.

Great, classic ride that creates the Disney effect. Can be ridden many times in a row, but be aware of quite long lines at times. Worth the wait to see it.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): not meant to be scary
Cons: none

based on the movie, it was not meant to be scary so young children should be good to go on this ride.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): FUN!
Cons: Can be dark and one small, backwards drop.

Disney does a good job of having ghost that aren't overly scary or overly sweet. A "must do".

Positive aspects of the product (pros): All time classic ride
Cons: Maybe too scary for very young kids

This was my favourite ride as a kid. I still enjoyed it as an adult but other attractions surpassed it. This all changed after the 2007 rehab. Great additions mean there is way too much to see on one ride through making you want to go again and again.: Posted via eTicket

Positive aspects of the product (pros): EVERYTHING!!!
Cons: Tacky pop up masks in graveyard

This is my absolute FAVORITE attraction at WDW!!! It's a must for me numerous times a trip. I had not been since it had been rehabed and was really impressed with the new scenes.

The only negative is the pop up masks in the graveyard scene. These look tacky and should be removed from the attraction.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

This is especially fun to do at night when your eyes are already adjusted to the dark. The new effects that were added with the last refurbishment are spectacular. The paintings on the walls that change during a lightning strike are incredible. The Escher staircase is also something fun to see.

This attraction may be scary to some young children, but mine have never had much of a problem with it. The only thing our daughter didn't like is the hand lifting the lid of the casket up and down.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): A classic, theme.
Cons: Might be scary for younger children.

Rode during MNSSHP in 9/08 - highly recommend a ride during that. My son was 9 first time on it and for some reason absolutely freaked ! He goes on everything and this got to him (?) I was surprised so I guess just be on the lookout for your kids getting scared regardless of age.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): extreme attention to detail, always something new to see/look for
Cons: can get hot waiting outside

Tip: Best way to avoid the herd getting out of the stretching room and heading to the doombugies is to make sure you are across from the portrait of the ballerina on a rope. The doors open under her. Let everyone out ahead of you(the line moves very quickly from this point) and stick around to hear the gargoyles telling you to "stick together". It is just a whisper but gives us chills all the same.
