Description: Closed 1/9/2012-3/20/2012

Year Opened: 1971

It's hard to think of a ride that's more of a Disney classic than Dumbo the Flying Elephant. It takes you soaring over the Magic Kingdom.

Sixteen gondolas of this adorable wide-eyed baby elephant with the oversized ears carefully circle a small hot air balloon with Dumbo's friend, Timothy Mouse, atop. Definitely not a thrill ride for the older set, it is still exciting for the younger children as is evident by the long lines for this popular attraction. (The lines are basically a result of the slow loading of this 2 minute ride.)

Guests in wheelchairs must be able to transfer from their chairs in order to ride.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

I was able to ride the new Dumbo in Storybook Circus when it was in soft opening. The wait wasn't terribly long, and the ride itself is very pretty. A bonus of the night was that we rode during Wishes! Definitely not to be missed, no matter how old you are.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Fun, Competitive, Vibrant
Cons: LINE!

This is a cute ride, geared towards small children, but fun for everyone! It is great to compete to see who can go higher! The only downside to the ride is that it always has a long line!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): a classic
Cons: small capasity = long lines

No trip to Disney is complete without a spin around Fantasyland on Dumbo. with the ongoing Fantasyland expantion an added benefit is you get a sneek peek of how the construction is going.

I recommend getting there early becuase lines like real long real fast.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Classic, Short Quene, Theme.
Cons: Screaming Kids, and Dizziness

I do love this ride as I always have with the great theme and it being a classic. Also, the lines are very short and the boarding of the cars is very quick and easy. Although, when the ride starts, you will hear a screaming terror of kids through out the entire ride. Be prepared with earplugs.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Classic. Photo Ops
Cons: Long wait, short ride.

A Disney classic, but not much a ride though. You wait forever for an extemely short ride. I've taken some of my best pictures while on the ride.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): A classic
Cons: long waits

A classic ride, get here soon after park opening if you don't want to wait. It's a pretty typical attraction though. Gotta love the view from up high.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Beautiful View
Cons: Long line for short ride

I have so many memories of riding this as a child. However waiting in line with my child for a less than 5 minute ride was awful. The line is very boring and hot.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): THE classic Disney ride
Cons: long line

This and the tea cups are THE classic rides. My 5 year old girls wanted to go on this ride ever since they saw it in the TV commercial.

Go early in the day, because the lines can get long.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): classic, iconic, great views
Cons: long lines, slow loading, short ride

A trip to Fantasyland isn't complete without a ride on Dumbo. I love that even the littlest kids enjoy it and even the oldest parents (or grandparents) feel like a kid again. This ride is second on to the castle (in my book) as a symbol of Disneyworld.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): a classic, very cute ride
Cons: long, long long long long long long line, over too fast

You have to ride Dumbo...it would be unAmerican not to ride Dumbo...ride too short for the long wait!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great photo op!
Cons: slow load, long line

The little ones love this and it is a true Disney classic. This also makes a terrific photo op! I wouldn't do it every trip though.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): a must for young children
Cons: long lines for a short ride

A ride that should be done immediately upon park opening if you want to avoid an amazingly long line.

For little kids this is great, but get there first thing other wise you will be waiting forever and that can be miserable for everyone.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): a classic ride, great view of fantasyland
Cons: long line and slow loading

This ride is a classic. Get on first thing when the park opens or expect long waits. Waits are also shorter right before park closing.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Young kids love it
Cons: to short, long lines

If you are taking your young kids on this, go first thing in the morning. Everyone says this and it is a good rule to go by. The lines are long, the ride is short, there is limited shade from the sun.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): . . .
Cons: another carnival ride in a billion dollar playland

What a waste of space. I know it's "one of the classics" but this is the exact same ride that's at every county fair. If this is why you're paying hundreds of dollars for entry I think you need to reassess your Disney visit, you can do this one at a fair for under five bucks.

If you like it though, don't worry, you can ride it again at futureland with space ships or how about in adventureland with carpets . . .

Sorry, I really do love other parts of the parks but this type of ride is just cheap and lazy.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Fun for the little ones
Cons: eternal line

If you want to ride this ride, get there at rope drop and make it your first stop. The line can be insane! But it is totally worth it for the preschool crowd.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): a must do if your little one enjoys Dumbo
Cons: slow loading, long waits, ride itself holds too few guests

Pros: great for the kids who like Dumbo

Cons:
slow loading, long waits and the ride itself doesn't hold many guests. Almost the same ride as Astro Orbitor (goes higher), Aladdin & Triceratops spin(hold more people, has more control).

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Cute ride
Cons: Loooong lines!

Simple flight through the air. Worth the long line? Probably not, but everyone has to ride Dumbo! Get to it early!! The line actually moved pretty quickly thanks to the castmembers:)
