Description: Year Opened: 1971
No self-respecting amusement park would be without a carousel. As you would expect, Disney's is spectacular.
There's a lot of history behind Prince Charming Regal Carrousel. Legend has it that Walt Disney was inspired to include one after taking his daughter's to the merry-go-round at LA's Griffith Park. It was built by Italian woodcarvers in 1917 and featured at Olympic Park in Maplewood, New Jersey. For trivia fans, it's technically the oldest attraction in Fantasyland. Now it plays Disney tunes as it spins. We somehow doubt that was the case 90 years ago. When Disney acquired it, the company artists refurbished the 90 horses so that no two are exactly alike. There are eighteen hand painted scenes that tell the story of Cinderella on the wooden canopy that covers this attraction. This 2 minute ride is perfect for young children. If you're a frequent visitor, take a photo of your little one with each visit and watch him/her 'grow' over the years.
This is considered a minor attraction but it is a bit slow loading so there may be a line. Wheelchair guests must be able to transfer from their chairs to the horses.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

My roommate and I got in line for this just before 1am on 2/24. We just missed the cutoff to ride, so we had to wait one cycle...but then another guest got stuck on her horse, as it was too high. The CMs were not legally able to help her down, but it took them awhile to determine that, and to decide that she would just have to keep riding until the horse lowered. So we got out of line, rode Peter Pan's Flight, and came back.

This time we got on with no problem, and I was able to ride Cinderella's horse! It was a short ride, but enjoyable, and very pretty so late at night. As I discovered, the horses can end up pretty high, so I had a very un-graceful dismount due to a knee injury.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): beautiful hand crafted horses
Cons: Adults would find boring

I always ride this at least once a trip. If nothing more than to admire the craftsmanship that went into every horse. Its a cute little ride but adults would find it boring.

This a great Disney ride for all ages and sizes. It always has short lines for quick rides to move on to other rides.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Very pretty!
Cons: Kinda boring. Horses can be kind of high to get onto/off of.

This, to me is another of the "one and dones". It is very beautiful but seems to me that it's location in the park is ill though through. It just kind of seems "wedged in" to me. JMO.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): fun, usually without the wait
Cons: none

This is your basic carousel that plays Disney music. Most people try to get Cinderella's horse. Typically not much of a wait.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): A simple classic
Cons: A simple classic

Hard to screw something like this up, a simple timeless classic that you should do at least once. No need to do it more than once though.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Classic Carousel
Cons: Slow loading

Its a Carousel. But a great one at that. The story paintings on the inside tell the story of Cinderella. Neat thing about this ride is the history of it. Do a little research on this particular ride and it will be much more appreciated.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Charming and Classic
Cons: Slow loading

This ride had a lot of history to it and is classic.

It is a family tradition to go on this ride every year.

It is usually a short line, but loading takes a while. But all carousels are slow loading.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

This is a great ride to start on for the young children in your family. Since it is outside and light - it'll ease your kids into the park experience!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Beautiful carousel, great views of Fantasyland
Cons: Slow loading, Short ride

This carousel is absolutely beautiful, especially at night, and there are great views of Fantasyland and the castle as it goes around. It plays great classic Disney songs too. But it is slow loading, and the ride is short so they can move more people through.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): A beautiful carousel, gorgeous horses
Cons: ride too short

This is a ride really for little kids. Secretly I have always loved riding carousels, so when my girls came along I have always gotten them to ride. They are at the ages where carousels are "kids stuff", but I always insist for a "photo - op". This is truly a beautiful carousel that seems even more magical at night. My only gripe is that the ride is way too short, by the time you're enjoying the flow it stops. This is a must for any parent with a child under 9.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): beautiful carousel, great location, a classic
Cons: makes me dizzy!

I rate it a 10 when comparing it to other carousels. It is spectacular. The location is perfect between the castle and Dumbo. My grandchildren love this ride, they are toddler and pre school age. It makes me dizzy, but that's part of getting older, I guess!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): elaborately decorated old-style Carrousel
Cons: still just a carrousel

Even when my children were of the age to enjoy this ride, they were less interested than for other rides.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Beautiful detail work
Cons:

Not really a con on this one, because it is one of the more beautifully detailed carousel you will see. Nothing unusal about the carousel so don't expect any surprises, but it is a great carousel.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great details, slow enough for motion sensitive folks
Cons:

Kids love this ride due to the classic features like music and detail of the horses. It is great for first time kids to see Fantasyland from a high vantage point at slow speeds.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): classic! fun for all ages
Cons: slow line

This carousel is a must for everyone! You have to say you went on it. It is beautiful to look at. Plan to wait in line but it is worth it.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Always fun
Cons:

My daughter still love this at 7. If you ride early, you may ride with the band and characters...we have done this several times in the past. Hopefully budget cuts don't take this too.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): classic
Cons: you can find this locally

Little kids (and some big ones too) can't resist a carousel. This one, however, is just like the one near YOUR house! do it if you like carousels, otherwise you're not missing much, and nothing cutting edge disney about it ... except that it is a classic.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Beautiful handcrafted carousel
Cons: As far as a ride . . . it's the same carousel that's at any mall

Beautifully handpainted and handcarved but it's still just a carousel. I'd take a nice look at it just for admiration but I wouldn't even spend the 2 minutes it takes to ride it out of my day at the park, let alone wait in any line.

. . . might be better if they transformed it back to it's former glory, remember that carousels were thrill rides that were meant for adults.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Holds a lot of guests, my girls love the "bobby horses"
Cons: Carousels are in every theme park in America

nice for the little ones to ride as the wait is never really that long. My 5yo is a huge fan of Mary Poppins and she saw Mary riding this one day.

Just like any other carousel in any other theme park in America

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Gorgeous at night
Cons: It's just a carousel

The lights and the brightly-colored horses make this one of the prettiest attractions in the Magic Kingdom; it's especially pretty at night. It's no different than any other carousel in the world, though, apart from the fact it plays Disney music. Fun if the line is short.
