Description: Closed 1/9/2012- 5/27/2012

In the midst of landscape designed to resemble Monument Valley, sits the 197' butte that is the centerpiece of the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Set during the gold rush days in the flooded mine town of Tumbleweed, this roller coaster features 20 Audio-animatronic figures including donkeys, chickens, possums, and the rainmaker himself, Professor Cumulus Isobar. The ride is geared more towards adults and teens and a height restriction of 40" is in effect. Just under 4 minutes in length, riders will find themselves tossed side to side in the car on this runaway mine train.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

This is one if my all time favorites, even though is not that thrilling. But it is enough to give me a good adrenaline rush. I think what makes the ride is the creeky and unpredictable feeling and the atmosphere of the ride.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): fast and fun
Cons: the wait queue

This is a fun headliner, it's the wait that can get you though. I felt a little jammed in like a sardine while in line and the air doesn't seem to move through very well, so now I go only when it's short (30 min or less) wait.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Fun, Seemingly Out of Control, Fast, Long ride
Cons: None!

BTMRR is a really fun coaster! I think the set and props are really cool, but the ride is so fast you don't even have time to see them! It's not as thrilling as Space Mountain, but that is ok!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great little rollercoaster
Cons: boring lines

We were down in early March 2011 and the lines weren't that bad. I think the longest we saw the standby was 75 minutes. It is one of our top 5 rides of the Magic Kingdom. Depending on the number of fast-pass people, the line can move quickly at times.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): mild as far as roller coasters go but still a wild ride.
Cons: queue does nothing to pass the waiting time

definetly in my top 5 of Magic Kingdom attractions. Its fast enought to provide a thrill, but isnt fast enough to pacify roller coaster fanatics. The theming is great. i recommend riding it at least twice. Once during the day and once at night. each provides a unique experience.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Good Ride For All
Cons:

This is by far my FAVORITE ride in Disney. It is perfect for me. Not too scary but not wimpy either! We always have a blast. Riding it while the fireworks are going off is amazing!

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

We rode this using FPs around 11:15am on 5/18/10. It was the first roller coaster I've ever gotten my mom to go on, and she loved it! Line moved fairly quickly, but the FP line merged with the standby, and only one side of the track was open. Very fun!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Fast, Fun, Not too intense
Cons: can be a bumpy ride

This is one of my Top Ten at Magic Kingdom. I always have to see it and ride more than once if the line is reasonable. Be sure to ride early in the day or get a FastPass though, you do not want to wait in the long line.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): slower- paced coaster, classic attraction
Cons: tendency for long lines, not a lot to do in while waiting in line

This was one of my favorite rides as a child, because it was the only roller coaster I could ride without being absolutely terrified. Riding it as an adult, I am able to appreciate the finer details of the ride.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Fun and one of the few roller coasters in Disney
Cons: Usually very long line

Fun ride! however the line can be long due to the fact that it's a very popular ride. I suggest a Fastpass, get to the park early and grab one, they go fast! It's one of the only roller coasters in Disney and great for the older people in your group!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Everything
Cons: None

My family loves this ride and is always looking forward to riding it everytime we go to the MK. The scenery is great and filled with exciting effects. The ride is not too hard on your body, but just good enough to get a thrill out of it. I recommend this ride to everyone for a fun experience.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Theming, fun
Cons:

If you can ride at sunset, it gives the best view of the park. The theming is awesome and the ride is smooth.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): really long ride for a coaster, great atmosphere, real wood banisters
Cons:

This is one of the longest roller coasters I've ever been on. Lots of thrills and fun! Get a fast pass and ride, ride, ride!

Fun all the way. A real hands in the air coaster. You're never too old to ride it....I hope! A favourite with my wife and daughter as well, even though they "don't do rollercoasters"

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

This is our son's favorite attraction. It's fast, but not too fast, so good for people who aren't into big roller coasters. There are no inversions here. It's especially fun to do at night. We had a friend with us a few years ago that screamed all the way through here. We still tease him that we can hear the echoes of his screams to this day when we ride the attraction.

Be sure to secure anything that you don't want to lose. Hats and glasses will fly off if you don't properly secure them. Take the warnings seriously.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): very fun coaster, one of MK's best
Cons: long lines, loud chain lifts

This ride is kinda like a slower, more family oriented version of Expedition Everest. I love this ride so much. But the chain lifts are so loud that it hurts your ears! Sit in the back for a more wild ride. The line for this ride is usually around 40 minutes, while Splash Mountain's is usually around 60 minutes. If you had to choose which ride to get a fastpass for, get them for Splash Mountain. This line moves pretty quickly.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great Beginners Coaster, Fun for any age.
Cons:

This is the first roller coaster I ever went on as a kid. Good for kids and adults this ride isn't to extreme. Does shake you around a bit but not enough to bother you. The theaming of this is great, so great that I wish the train actually went slower so you could see more. You want to ride more than once so you can maybe catch some of the things you missed the first go round. Also try to fast pass this attraction, if the line gets long and your in the summer heat it can get hot under the cover while waiting on this ride.
