Description: This sentimental favorite was the first Disney attraction to use Audio-animatronic exclusively. It originally opened in Disneyland in 1963 as "The Enchanted Tiki Room - Tropical Serenade." The show combines elements of that original attraction with some now familiar characters and songs. Aladdin's abrasive Iago and the Lion King's sensible Zazu join Jose, Michael, Pierre and Fritz, the original hosts of the Tiki Birds. There are songs, jokes and a tropical storm during the performance. The Tiki Birds show is wheelchair accessible. For guests requiring assistance with hearing, assistive listening devices to amplify the sound are available from Guest Services.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): original show
Cons: loud

YEA! Iago and Zazu have retired. The original show is back. It is a little shorter, flows better, and is less annoying.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): The birds
Cons: Iago

I review this as it was. I hear it has been revamped back into the old style. If so, that is spectacular as the classic was so much more worth seeing than the new. Iago's interruptions tended to be an annoyance after a while. Zazu is ok. But it all paled in comparison to what the classic was.

This was just awful. We walked right in around 7:15 pm on 5/18/10. I went in with low expectations, and even those weren't met. Just skip this, it's a waste of time!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Entertaining for Kids
Cons: Outdated

Still a Disney classic that can be very entertaining for the kids, but they should re-do the story line.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Pre-Show, Shade and Air Conditioning
Cons: Slow Moving, Hard To Follow

Many different opinions of this attraction, mainly because of the switch in formats to the show. Many people say they don't like the "under new management" theme that involves newer Disney characters. However, the characters don't seem to be as intrusive as first thought, and in fact, I find them to be easier to follow and allow the show to move along. That said, the show is still slow and doesn't provide a very thorough storyline. It is slow and dark enough for the lady next to our party to "feed" her baby mid show. That should tell you how most people use the show buliding. Simply as a place to cool off. Do try to catch the pre-show on the outside terrace before entering the theater. It is pretty entertaining.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Classic,Walt had this right, You won't be able to get the the "In the tiki tiki tiki room" out of your head fora while
Cons: "Under New Management" theme,

Ok so I don't like the "Under New Management" theme, & I do wish they would go back to the old one, but it is still a Disney classic....When I went to it back in 1975 for the 1st time, you got Orange Jucice as you came out, because it was sponsered by Tropica OJ if I remember correctly.
It's not a action ride or attraction, but neither is small world..Yes hard to compare the two, but once your hooked you are hooked for life...My 2 cents worth........Give a try ...when it's not to busy. it is a great spot to cool off.Have fun!!! "In the Tiki TIki TIki Tiki ROom"

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Entertaining
Cons: Not as entertaining as it used to be

I'd visit here once if you come regularly (Disney Vacation Club), but if you don't, only stop here if you have the time, as there are better attractions. True to what you may have heard, the Tiki Room comes to life, the whole thing. Even the wood carvings and totems will sing! Unfortunately since coming under new management, the humor isn't as good, and Iago the parrot seemingly ruins was used to be a great show, making it merely a good show. This was a step backward for Disney.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons: Gilbert Godfrey, lame story line

If you've never seen it before and have no nostalgic feelings for it there is no reason to see it now. The old stuff is OK but frankly Gilbert Godfrey's voice completely taints the magic of Disney. If they got rid of him and just kept Zazu it would be much less irritating. Good alternatives to this attraction would be to go down and watch the live Pirate show. Or go look at the big camel. Or go to the bathroom.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Cute show.
Cons: predictable

While this is cute to see once, it is a "one and done".

Positive aspects of the product (pros): The history, theming.
Cons: Kinda boring, Under New Management

OK, this will not blow you away and some may feel it a waste of time...I won't argue with them. But when you understand the history of Walt going to South America and finding a toy bird made in the 1800's and used it as the inspiration for Tiki, well that's just pretty amazing. The birthplace of todays Audio Animatronics.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Give me a sec, I'm thinking
Cons: I don't have enough space to write

Some people enjoy this because they can go indoors, get some a/c and sometimes get a nap in.

I personally go to WDW to be entertained and I am not entertained with the Tiki Room whatsoever. I personally will never step foot in this ever again, and my wife has never seem it, nor will she ever because I refuse to waste my time.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great Disney Original(somewhat)
Cons: Not the best refurb

Ok I like everything original, so when I go to the park I like to see the stuff as I did as a kid. This is no longer in original form. This is a great escape from the heat. Some good clean humor, and some Disney original work. Unlike the Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion this is a refurb Disney really missed out on. Now it is not that bad, still a good attraction they just didn't do as well with the changes as they did with the other two attractions I mentioned.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons: cheap re-do of a classic attraction

OK, maybe I'm a purist, alright.

But what this attraction is is an abombination. Really? Someone looked at the original and said, "this is just begging for Iago singing snippets of 'popular' songs!"?

The pacing of the show once Iago cuts in is jarring and in no way pleasent or relaxing like the original.

I agree, see it to say you saw it and survived. I honestly didn't know whether to cry in dissapointment, scream in anger or just fall asleep from boredom

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Well Themed
Cons:

I can sort of see the bad rap it gets with the "Under New Management" theme, but I think Iago and Zazu are a perfect fit for a show like this if you want to go that way. It just wasn't "plussed" the right way. All in all I feel this show is a good take a rest type of attraction and still has that classic Disney feel to it.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Funny, Great place to cool off on a hot day
Cons: May Scare small children

Just beware if you have small children. My DS was very excited to go and see it after learning the catchy song. It was one of first things we went to see and it scared him.

If you need a place to cool down though you can't go wrong here!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Nice and shady when it's hot
Cons: kind of run down and "sad"

I think that this space could be better used with just about any other attraction. Shade isn't a good enough reason for an attraction.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Classic Disney
Cons: Might be boring to some

Not having really encountered the first tiki room (or not remembering), I enjoyed the show and the addition of Zazu and Iago.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Nostalgic classic fun
Cons: Nostalgic classic fun

If you missed the original, then, this is all you got. I cant get my 10yr old daughter to slow down enough to watch it anymore, unfortunately if enough people feel that way, it may go away. I cant resist Gilbert Gottfried singing "you are boring Tiki birds.." cmon, who can!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Inside in the air conditioning
Cons: Should have been left the way it was

I was no big fan of the original version of this attraction as a kid, so I was interested when they changed it. Well, in my opinion they made it worse. Neither me or my husband found the show funny or engaging. Kids would probably enjoy the show, but for 2 adults, I'd skip it.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): one of Walt's first
Cons: don't need to see it twice

If you love Walt, this is a probably something you will want to see. The jokes are corny, but the show is cute. Once you see it, you don't probably won't feel the need to see it again

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Nice plan to cool down for a bit, a LITTLE of the old attraction left
Cons: VERY LITTLE of the old attraction left,

I'm not a fan of this show. I really enjoy the original at Disneyland becuase of it's originality and the role that it played in creating the audioanimatronics that now fill the parks. It was a milestone and I really like the nostalgia of it. This new take on it kind of ruins all that. If you've never been before I'd say see it once, then pass.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Personal Disney touch
Cons: Update dilutes the Disney touch, prefer the original version.

An attraction you should see at least once, but has limited draw for repeat visits. The singing birds, plants, statues, etc. is more enjoyable than Iago and Zazu.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great voicing
Cons: A bit worn down

Pretty cute show. I really dig Jerry Orbach, so I enjoyed the show. I never experienced the old version so I can't compare, but this one stands up pretty well. Not amazing, pretty definately cute.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Two words : AIR CONDITION
Cons: song in your head

While not as good as the original still a fun place to get out of the heat. Can find better things to do in the park, but a nice break and something we do every 3rd or 4th visit.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): like the corny jokes and the music since it was updated
Cons:

I have always been a big fan of the Tiki Room. It is probably a cult thing since my wife dislikes it however it is air conditioned.
