Positive aspects of the product (pros): Stay was great... while we were there
Cons: BED BUGS!!!

I stayed in building 44 and for the life of me I can't remember which room.. but it was the corner room nearest the parking lot with the bus stop and facing the court yard/smoking area. I noticed there were mosquitoes out and figured my bites on my leg were from them... but then I came home and received more. :-( All my life I wanted to go to WDW. This was my dream come true. Only to bring home Bed Bugs! I have discovered as well that I am not the only one who has had this issue as well.. there are other reports from CBR as well. :-(

Apparently WDW has an issue with this. Just google WDW Bed Bug Infestation reports.. you'll see what I mean.. and they won't do anything once your home.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Theme, Very friendly, Pools
Cons: Bed

My five year old loved the pirate room. He stood on the bed and sailed the ship most of the time in the room. Good thing they put us on the ground floor because they gave him a sword at check in and he was jumping off his ship and fighting pirates and climbing back on to sail away. The room was clean. No extra towl animals or anything but he did not seem to mind. I thought the bed was awful and was thankful the trip was only two nights. I was in Pain. My husband slept very well on the bed. He likes a firm mattress. The wi-Fi was hit or miss. It worked when it felt like it. The room has a fridge and plenty of room. We went to the movies every night and my son enjoyed that. You need to get there early or all of the chars will be gone. We spent our last day at the pool and he thought the pirate theme was great. He found a friend Alex and had a great time. The life guards were very good. Although my husband shadowed my son in the pools and on the slides. I would give those life guards a five star rating. They did a great job and they were very friendly in the kids play zone. We had breakfast at the food court and thought it was the basic Disney food it was good. Average cost with a drink $10.00. If my son talks me into this resort again I will opt for the non Pirate theme room and see if the beds are better. It is a large resort and I am not sure if I would stay here without a car I am so anti bus. Overall we enjoyed the family feeling we had at this resort.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Spacious clean room, close to the bus stop, great theming, great bus service
Cons: too large of a resort

I requested to be in the Martinique section of the resort and was placed in a top floor room in building 23. This building was right outside of the Martinique bus stop. I couldn't have asked for a better location! I never heard my neighbors either. I liked that the moderates have a fridge in the room and a curtain separating the beds from the bathroom area.
I was worried about the bus service for this resort because it was so large, but I was pleasantly surprised! The longest wait I had one morning, was 20 minutes, but that was only one time. The longest ride was to the Magic Kingdom, but was only between 15 and 20 minutes. Epcot and Hollywood Studios were only a short ride away.
If I were to stay here again, I would request the Martinique section. It's in close proximity to Old Port Royale. I wouldn't want to stay in another section.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): not terribly crowded, nice trails for walking
Cons: dirty, long waits for bus

we stayed for a week at the CBR as part of a free-dining promotion during Sept of 2011. This is the usual week we go; historically it's not quite as busy as other summer/fall weeks. This week was pretty busy, thought with a huge influx of European and South American tourists, who were rude and don't know how to queue up...but that has nothing to do with the resort.
This resort is passable, in terms of Disney themes, but the room was not cleaned well during our stay there. I inadvertently spilled some baby powder, and it lay on the rug all week, meaning nobody vacuumed. I noticed the sink area wasn't wiped clean, and we arrived back from a long, hot day only to find no soap or shampoo. I had to call, and over 1/2 hour later, was able to take a shower. The bus service is marginal with waits over 1/2 hour as the norm. The pools were nice and clean, even during love bug season. What meals we had (breakfast and one lunch) were just ok. I think that maybe this would be an acceptable spot for families, since there are so many pools. For hubby and I....I think next time we'll spend a little extra for a higher-end resort.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Internal shuttle bus system, beautiful rooms
Cons: Slow bell services at check-out

We stayed in a Pirate room at CBR and loved it! We had red-eye flights into Orlando on a Sunday, and arrived at CBR at 0615 in the morning. I checked in online before leaving home, and was pleased to find out our room was ready for us that early.

The beds are a fun pirate shape, and while the mattresses aren't very thick (they might be about 3 or 4 inches), they were actually very comfortable. The pirate theme was fun, even for a teenage boy.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Beautiful grounds
Cons: Very spread out

We stayed here during our Christmas Trip in 2008. We had just stayed at Coronado Springs in August prior. When I asked my husband what he thought about this resort, he said, "I honestly don't remember much about it." That would be my description as well, not memorable. I don't have any complaints, but nothing to rave about either other than the beautiful setting. But then again, does anyone expect anything less at Disney World?

Positive aspects of the product (pros): nice location, close to Epcot
Cons: slow busses in resort

This hotel had a great Caribbean feel. There were sand beaches that overlooked the lakes. The rooms were tropical looking and the landscaping was beautiful. The food court looked like a marketplace. Overall, a great resort!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): privacy curtain between the beds and the sinks, theme pool area, size of the rooms, resort location, housekeeping, staff, grounds
Cons: location of garbage at Old Port Royale,

I've stayed in all levels of resort. This one is certainly one of my very favorites!

We checked in at about 11am, and miraculously, our room was ready. I waited probably about 5 - 10 minutes to check in. For the sheer number of rooms, I was pleasantly surprised that the wait wasn't longer. The cast member who checked me in was WONDERFUL; cheery, pleasant and very knowledgeable.

Some people look for different things in a room location - but for us, they placed us perfectly, and I had no requests. We were in Barbados, building 13, in a first floor corner room facing the parking lot. To some this may not have worked, but we could park JUST outside our door. It was wonderful!

Many have commented on the size of the resort. This was a HUGE concern of mine. We were in one of the furthest villages from Old Port Royale, but I have to say that it wasn't too far of a walk. But I actually like the quiet time I'm afforded walking to get some food or filling mugs without my toddler talking my ear off. Smile It was probably a 5 - 8 minute walk from our room to the food court. Not bad at all. The only really rotten thing was in the heat of the middle of a Central Florida day, the garbage smelled AWFUL and it was RIGHT on the path between our room, Martinique rooms, and Old Port Royale. I'm REALLY sensitive to smells, so this may have just been my own idiosyncratic issue.

The food court was great. Everyone I encountered was very friendly. My wife is sensitive to gluten, so I had to always ask for gluten-free breakfast foods. Most of the time, it wasn't issue, but every now and again there was a language barrier - but even with that barrier, everyone was as helpful and friendly as they could possibly be. My only true complaint with the food court would be that gluten free items should definitely be offered more. They have them, but you have to ask, and they're not listed on menu boards. But that's not just specific to the Caribbean Beach Resort.

The shopping center was fun; the homogenization of merhandise across Disney property notwithstanding. We ended up needing a few last minute personal items - some conditioner and sunscreen, I think. They were outrageously overpriced, but that's to be expected at ANY resort - not just Disney.

The pool was a lot of fun. My daughter loved the kids play area. One of the little ones left a twosie in the water, forcing them to shut the pool. They were friendly and efficient in clearing the area and making sure people didn't venture into the water while they cleaned it up and treated the water. My daughter also loved the main pool's zero entry area. We had a great day using the main pool. We also played in the Barbados pool area which was a lot of fun too!

The room itself, for a moderate resort, was particularly spacious. It was about the same size as the standard rooms at either Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom. The privacy curtain between the living area and the bathroom space was wonderful. Made getting ready a bit easier. There was plenty of storage space between the dresser, the bench with the drawer, and the closet area.

One of the downsides of exterior corridors is that you may have an uninvited guest. We had come in after a long day at the parks, and my wife said "There's a frog!". Being in Disney, and 30 years old, my natural instinct was, of course to say: "A real one?"

Sure enough, a little green frog, who blended IMPECCABLY into the tropical print carpet, was chilling out in the corner. It took some doing, but we did shoo him out. Not a problem at all - just definitely something to keep an eye out for!!

We did split periodically, so I had a chance to use the busses - but it was just once. Yes, there were several stops - but it didn't bother me. Our room was RIGHT across from the Barbados bus stop, so that was another plus to our location.

I think the one other thing that's a HUGE plus about Caribbean Beach is that it's the most centrally located of the moderate resorts. We did drive ourselves to the parks, but the ride to all locations was short and easy. I would imagine that it's the same situation if you're riding a bus.

I've stayed at All Star Music, Pop Century, Port Orleans French Quarter, Beach Club, Polynesian, Boardwalk Villas, and Animal Kingdom Lodge. Of those, I prefer only Beach Club and Animal Kingdom Lodge above Caribbean Beach. I actually like Caribbean Beach more than the Boardwalk Villas and Polynesian! Smile

Positive aspects of the product (pros): pool, lush grounds
Cons: huge grounds, bus service

We stayed in Aruba, building 51 from 10/21 thru 10/26. It was great - right next to the bridge to get to the main pool. Location was not a problem in that respect.

The pool was deserted on a Thursday night. Fantasticly busy on a Saturday afternoon. The spas (hot tubs) are open 24 hours, which woudl be heavenly if I didn't have sleeping children in the rooms.

The food court had good food. I had salmon one night, boys had hamburgers, husband had roast turkey. Was good. Expensive, as all WDW food is. We all had cheeseburgers or buffalo chicken sandwiches another night. Again, good, but expensive.

We found that we were closer to the Jamaica bus stop, so we used that. Last time we visited WDW, we stayed at AKL and thought that we were the bus stop furthest away from all the parks. Now I know we were wrong about that, the CBR is the last bus stop at all the parks - even the pop hotels have stops that are closer! They did come often to the hotel - so the rides to the parks were not bad. But coming home, it seems like we waited forever. Maybe it was just prception and we were tired...

Our room didn't have soap or shampoo in it when we checked in. We never got cute towel animals or cute things done with our stuffed animals. The room was clean, but...

We had a corner room, which has an extra window and seems spacier. That was an added bonus. We couldn't hear anyone below us or next door. We never heard anyone out on the hall. A very quiet room.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Beautiful landscaping, very quiet, great pools
Cons: People at food court are not knowledgeable about DDP

We loved our stay here. We were there from September 19-25. Our rooms were cleaned perfectly. We were left enough towels. Our mousekeeper left the boys' toys in cute arrangements in our pirate room every day. The bus waits were short. We loved the covered waiting area. The walk to Old Port Royale was maybe 5-7 minutes and that was with 2 boys under 5. We will stay here again.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Landscaping, rooms, pool
Cons: transportation

Stayed at this hotel 8/16-8/23 in the new Pirate rooms. On line check-in was very quick and easy. The Pirate room was themed great and very detailed. The main pool was also well themed and the kid's pirate ship was fantastic. Housekeeping was excellent. Landscaping was amazing and we found most of the resort to be very quiet and peaceful. The walk to Old Port Royale was fine with us and we did it at least once a day. The bus service was very frustrating. We waited at least 30 minutes each morning, and once 50 minutes for an Animal Kingdom bus. Return service from parks was never a problem, even after Illuminations. Overall a great hotel, but much more enjoyable if you have a car.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons: Rude CM's, terrible mousekeeping, too darn big!!

CBR did not impress our family.

Our room was not cleaned well all week.

Our air conditioner didn't work well and the remote for the tv was missing. It took a few phones calls before it was actually replaced.

The rooms are suppose to be larger than the other mods but it wasn't a noticeable difference.

This resort is huge. Be prepared to walk.

The service at Pepper Market is very poor. The whole stamp thing is just not efficient. It is nearly impossible for the entire family to eat together with having to get the kids food at an entirely different station and the service being so slow at the others. The CM's were very unfriendly and some just plain rude. I also had a run-in with a front desk CM, when all I wanted was my boarding passes printed. Very unprofessional.

The new pool was nice and the kiddie area is fun.

The bus service was average. Shutters was an average meal at best. Wouldn't eat there again with all the choices at WDW.

We do not plan to return to CBR.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Beautiful spacious grounds, Friendly CM's, Awesome new pools, Excellent bus service
Cons: none

~ Check in went smooth. I was asked if we had luggage and I told her that yes we had our carry on bags. She gave me a paper and told me to take it outside to bell services. So I gathered up the family and we went outside. I gave the paper to bell services and they said to have a seat it would be a few minutes. In about 5 minutes a van came and loaded our bags and took us to our room.

~ Our room was in Aruba 51. We opened the door to a newly done Nemo room! Very clean and bright and new. The Nemo theme is not overdone, it is only on the bedspread and border. The carpet was clean. The curtains are a wavy ocean blue. There is a big table and 2 chairs. The flat screen TV is on the dresser and the refrigerator is underneath/inside the dresser. To the right of the dresser is the bench that opens and has a ton of storage space inside. Above the bench is a shelf with a bunch of coat hangers which is so nice to have! The bathroom was just as we remembered it – the double sinks with a lot of storage space underneath!

~ Mousekeeping was great. Although we only had them come in and clean 2 times all week. We left the "privacy please" thing in the key hole the other days and each day they would leave us a bag on the door of fresh towels, wash clothes, toilet paper, kleenex, and cups.

~ Our view was garden/courtyard and it was very lush and beautiful. If you looked hard enough you could see the lake between the buildings. We were also close to the parking lot.

~ We were right in the middle of the Aruba and the Jamaica bus stops. Either way it was about a 3-4 minute walk to the bus stop. So we would use the Aruba bus stop in the mornings on the way to the parks, that way we were walking towards the the bus stop and if we saw the bus we wanted coming from the Jamaica stop towards the Aruba stop we would speed up our pace to catch it! And on the way back to the resort we would get off at the Jamaica stop because it was usually the first stop.

~ Our room was a 4-5 minute walk to OPR, just over the bridge and island. So if we wanted to eat, shop, or swim it was a short walk! The bridge and island are just beautiful and very well maintained. There is a spot in the middle of the island with picnic tables and hammocks. There are also hammocks on the beaches and 3 playgrounds right on the beaches. We enjoyed one evening on the Jamaica beach watching Illuminations while the kids played on the playground!

~ We ate at the food court 3-4 times. The service was great and the food was freshly made and good. The CM's were very helpful with what came with the meals on the DDP. The only time we noticed that not all the stations were open was on Tuesday during the middle of the day – probably around 2:00 or so. Other than that they were all always open and had plenty of variety to offer something for everyone. It was never crowded and we enjoyed our meals there.

~ On to the pools! WOW what can I say – Disney did an awesome job with the pool rehab at CBR. The new children's pool can't be beat. It is like a mini waterpark and it is pirate themed! It has 2 open smaller slides and a longer enclosed tube slide. There is water squirting out every which way and a tipping bucket that dumps water every so many minutes. Every time it tipped, all the kids would just squeal with delight! There were kids of all ages enjoying the children's pool. The day we spent at the pool the kids at it ranged in age from probably 5-12. The new main pool is themed like the old pool was, which is so nice. And now it is way bigger. It is like a lake! It's so nice how it is all curved and not squared off like most pools. It curves in all directions and is just beautiful. The zero entry is a great feature. The water was warm and pleasant. The main pool now has 2 slides! One is open and smaller and not too fast. DS7 loved it. The other is longer, enclosed, and faster. We couldn't keep DS9 off of it! A lot of kids and adults were enjoying this slide! There were lots of chairs by the pool and it was not crowded. The pool hours were 10am-11pm. There is a pool bar right beside the main pool.

~ Buses ~ Let me just say that we had THE BEST bus service we have ever had on this trip! We were either extremely lucky or they were just running a lot more buses than ever before. We would walk up to the bus stop and our bus would pull right up, nearly every time! I don't think we ever sat down on the benches at the bus stop! Less than a 5 minute wait 90% of the time. It was awesome! Even leaving the parks was great. Maybe close to a 10 minute wait leaving MK one night. Even when we were leaving DTD one day we saw the CBR bus pulling out as we were walking out of the Marketplace. We thought we are going to have to wait at least 20 minutes for another bus. We walked over to the bus stop and sat down. A CBR bus pulled up in about 3 minutes! Couldn't believe it! Now there was one morning we did have a long wait. We walked out of our room in Aruba and could see the Epcot bus heading towards the stop. There was no way we would have caught it as we had just left the room. It was a good 25 minutes before another one came and it was packed. That was our only real wait for a bus and the only time we had to stand on the bus. Luckily it is a short ride to Epcot from CBR. Very quick trips to all the parks and DTD since CBR is so centrally located. Once the bus leaves the resort it takes 3 minutes to get to DHS, 5 to Epcot, 9 to DTD, and 11 to AK and MK.

~ One more thing I will touch on briefly is the Islands of the Caribbean Adventure Cruise for kids. CBR offers this 3 days a week! My kids did this on a Sunday morning and had a blast!! They are still talking about it!

~ Overall another wonderful stay. We would not hesitate to go back to CBR again in the future! It is a very beautiful, lush, relaxing, and romantic resort.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): landscape/theme, cleanliness
Cons: laundry

stayed here for the 1st time 5/27-6/4 and LOVED it! We usually stay AsSp but with 4/3 deal and length of the trip we opted to try a moderate. We will definitely stay here again for lengthy trips. The kids enjoyed the main pool and the beaches. We loved seeing Epcot fireworks while sitting on the beach. We took other posters suggestions and paid for a preferred room in Martinique and it was well worth it being so close to Olde Port Royale. We had a courtyard view and it was amazingly quiet and lush. Really had the feel of a vacation. We did use laundry facility which we had probs with. One dryer didn't work well at all and the other 2 required more than one cycle to get all dry. We recommend this resort to everyone. We had clean room every day and very nice CMs.

Cons: rooms are far from old port royale. although you can stay in a preferred room, it is still at least a three-five minute walk. buses can fill up fast at bust stops which causes the buses to pass your stop. this can lead to longer wait times to get to y

CBR is a nice resort for families. The main pool was excellent for children and the food court was decorated well. However, if you want a romantic feel, I would choose a different resort. When I stayed in May, there were a lot of children and the noise level was quite loud at the pools and during the morning. This resort is nice for the value.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): pretty place
Cons: big resort with lots of bus stops, small counter service area

When this resort opened, I paid $39 a night!!! So, the cost to stay has obviously gone up considerably. This was the first Disney resort we stayed at and we were just in love with it. Now that I am a DVC owner, it isn't all that wonderful to me anymore. We stayed one night last year and the room we had was really not suitable to be rented. We complained, but it fell on deaf ears. Room was dirty, smelled of mildew. My children have stayed here this past year and they liked it a lot.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Theming & beaches
Cons: Spread out -- long walk to get most places

This resort is my favorite moderate. It's great with kids due to the beaches and numerous pools. The main, themed pool is fun for all. The food court is themed very well, and the food is excellent. The rooms have always been very clean and comfortable on our few stays. The resort is very spread out, however, which means that depending on your room location, it can be quite a long walk to bus stops, or the main pool/food court area.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Tropical theme, landscaping, amenities
Cons: No elevators

What a beautiful resort! Check-in seems to stay busy, but the line moves fairly fast. Parking was very convient to the rooms, but not having an elevator was a bit inconvenient. The rooms were very spacious, and clean. Mousekeeping was very prompt during the two times in which we called them. The food court was great as well. Lots of choices, and tasted great. The table area of the food court was never crowded and always clean. The grounds of this resort are absolutely beautiful! The buses were not a problem for us at all. We loved having the covered bus stops. The buses ran on time, with us not having to wait more than 5-7 minutes for any bus through out the 7 days we were there. We would definitely stay here again!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): beautiful landscape, great pool, variety of choices at food court, room size
Cons: too big

We stayed at CBR for two nights last week [5/15-5/17] we had just come over from POP and it was like night and day. We received one of the Finding Nemo rooms immideatly fell in love with the size and decor of it. The slide at the pool was a lot of fun and even though the resort was busy we did not have a hard time finding chairs. Housekeeping was fantastic, we were even left a towel animal one day [it was a rabbit wearing a skirt] The only downside to this resort as others have said is the size of it. It is HUGE. It takes forever just to get to the front desk. We would stay here again only if we had a car.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Tropical Theming and Location
Cons: Food court Ok - nothing great

I loved this Hotel!!!

The bright, cheerful colors and tropical theming and beaches really makes you feel like you are on a vacation within a vacation!

Transportation worked great, the lovely walk from Jamaica to the Food Court each morning was one of the best parts of my morning.

Gift shop was great. Food court food was ok - nothing special.

All in all, dollar for dollar, I think this is the BEST Disney Resort for value on Property!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): great atmosphere
Cons: spread out!

this is a great quiet resort. it is really fun and the atmosphere can just energise you! the rooms are comfy and if you like having a nice long evening walk after dinner this is a great place to do it or nap in a hammock on the beach!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Resort theme
Cons: Distance to the main building

4 of us stayed here - 4 adults and 2 kids.
Our kids loved the main pool area. (This was before it was refurbished). There were organised activities for the kids. One of their favourites was a treasure hunt.
Our room had, plenty of space for the 4 of us. It was comfortable and clean.
We had a kids play area outside our door.
The resort surrounding are beautiful and well maintained.
The only negative point was the distance to the main building.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Beautiful grounds
Cons: Way to spread out, not particularly "Disney"

I wasn't impressed. It was a long, long walk to any place we needed to go - parking lot, main building or bus stop. The theming was pretty, but not Disney. The river is beautiful, but not worth the extra price for the view. While it is beautiful, it isn't anything special in my mind. I'd rather be at a Value resort where it feels like Disney really did something.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): pool themed area, landscaping
Cons: many bus stops

I have stayed here twice. I really like the new pool area. The slide is fun, and the kid area looked like loads of fun too. The landscaping makes this resort very pretty. I took the time to explore the "Cay" area, and it was a nice place to have a break or a meal. There were picnic tables throughout the area.

The new Finding Nemo themed rooms were nice. The touches were subtle but cute. I've stayed in Trinidad North, and Aruba. I thought the Aruba location was more convenient, even though Trinidad is considered a "preferred location". Aruba was close to a bus stop, a short walk across the bridge to the food court/pool area, and near the lobby area. I also found the placement of Aruba on the bus schedule better, as we did not have to wait for so many stops after we got on the bus.

We took time to enjoy the beach and hammocks. The fireworks from Illuminations are visable from the hot tub area.

The negative aspect of this resort is the bus situation. While we never waited long for a bus to arrive, you do have to stop at each village before the bus can leave, and the same is true on the return. I noticed this more when I stayed in Trinidad than when I stayed in Aruba.

The food court here is o.k., but probably my least favorite of the other moderates and Pop.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Really neat main pool
Cons: This resort is HUGE

This resort is just too big for my taste. Too much walking. The rooms are fairly roomy. Pretty basic furnishings. The main pool has very cool theming and a slide, but the other pools are just ordinary pools.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Moderately priced
Cons: Expansive Resort

This is an "okay" moderate resort. The rooms are fine - nothing special. Some rooms are a pretty far walk from the main guest areas. There are nicer moderate resorts, in my opinion.
