Positive aspects of the product (pros): Everything! love the stormtroopers patrolling the park
Cons: Large crowds, clogs the park

In fairness I am a SW geek so my opinion is somewhat jaded. This is my favorite special event at WDW. WDW always brings out a great variety of Sw actors and celebs. My Darth Goofy is looking at me right now from the computer tower. lol
If you are not a SW fan and can avoid the park, do so.

I love the stormtroopers patrolling the park!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): multiple guest appearances and special events
Cons: can get very crowded

Appeals to the die-hard and the casual Star Wars fans. They typically do not draw the major stars from the movies, and they change each weekend. If the guest appearances are important, you will want to review the schedule to see when one that interests you will be there. If you are not a Star Wars fan, then avoid this park on these weekends.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): celebrity and star wars character encounters, special merchandise, special shows for this event
Cons: the CROWDS, June can be HOT

This is so much fun. Disney and Star Wars, how can you go wrong. Make sure you arrive early to get in line for the Fast Pass line for the celebrity you want to meet. Go to the shows, especially the Hyperspace Hoopla at the end of the day. Don't miss the parade. Great opportunity for photos and the characters interact with the crowd. You can assemble your own lightsaber at Tatooine Traders. The collectibles at Wickets Warehouse are fun to look at even if you can't afford them. You can get great photos with Jedi Mickey or Darth Goofy. My 16 year old son dressed as a Jedi Knight, and he had interaction from Stormtrooper Donald holding an air blaster pointing at him to other younglings wanting to battle him with their lightsabers. So dressing up is accepted and its fun. Sadly, Star Wars isn't for everyone, so on these weekends if you can avoid this park and go to another I recommend that because it does get very busy and the crowds are galactic. The crazy heat in June doesn't help either. May the Force be with You.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): the parade and jedi academy
Cons: the time

This great fun for the whole family, but can take up a whole day at the world. I like star wars just not to that degree to spend my whole day or weekend at one event. There is so much more at disney, but if you been multiple times or have young jedi in your family, make plans to be here you won't be disappointed.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Crowd Interaction
Cons: Storm Troopers

Our first encounter with Star Wars Weekend was in May of 2005. Now we are not huge Star Wars fans, however we have seen all of the movies and do like them.

The parade is great and my kids both were chosen to participate in the Jedi training camp.

If you can time it right, definitely make plans to visit Hollywood Studios on this weekend.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Character and celebrity encounters
Cons: non-star wars fans won't care too much

Full disclosure: I am a Star Wars fan. Watched every movie multiple times since childhood, own many of the original figurines, etc.
So with that in mind, Star Wars Weekends are amazing (for star wars fans). The first thing I noticed about DHS during SWW was that not only are there Star Wars characters, but there are a LOT of Star Wars characters, everywhere ... intermingled with tons of fans as well. If you're a fan, it's well worth the wait to meet the celebrities (B-list or not! Smile . Another great aspect is the special limited edition merchandise that is available only at this time.

But, truth be told, non-star wars fans will find DHS very crowded at this time. and might not care for it.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Plenty of "special" for the Star Wars Geeks
Cons: Star Wars Geeks ; )

I'll preface this by stating right up front that I am not a huge Stars Wars disciple - a fan, yes, but not much beyond that. Star Wars Weekend has plenty for all - from the diehards to the new initiates. These is plenty of merchandise available, and lots and lots of costumes. Unlike festivals at EPCOT, you really notice that an event is happening at DHS, so unless you a) love the movies or b) have no other choice, pick another park if you don't want to deal with the crowds. The lectures and panels offered were not that interesting for me (shamefacedly, I did not recognize anyone), but I thought the parade was very enjoyable.
