We had smoothies for a light lunch one a really hot day. There is shaded seating to the left of the stand by the entrance to the Muppets attraction.
The smoothies were cold and thick. We tried a mango ( not too tart), a triple berry (sweet) a strawberry (everyone liked this the best) and the mocha ( coffee drinkers enjoyed it). I would recommend this stop for a quick pick-me-up. : Posted via eTicket

Our group of 5 adults and teens really liked this. We drew Mickey and the group right after drew Daisy Duck. It was a nice break to sit and llisten to one of the Disney animators explain how to draw the charactor. Take some time to visit this !

Cute small store with nice bath related gifts. We bought several things for family members. Soaps were around $7 a bar, they also sold bath salts, bath bombs, lotions, etc. The soaps with Mickey heads were really cute: Posted via eTicket

This hotel is gorgeous and sophisticated. It is perfect for Disney 'skeptics' who want to be awed and feel like they're in the lap of luxury while being a little removed from the craziness. We stayed here with my in-laws who used to think Disneyland was only for kids and was always noisy and crowded. This was perfect - it is close enough to the parks that we never had far to walk, it has very subtle Disney touches, and the staff was awesome. It also has its own DCA entrance that was rarely crowded and made us feel like Disney insiders.
We didn't spring for concierge but were lucky enough to be upgraded to a theme park view; it was beautiful.
The hotel also has some activities and tours that guest can take advantage of, and just sitting in the grand lobby is a great experience.
For us, the only down side (besides the cost) is the feel of the place. For my kids, the DLH is their favorite. It's less 'glamorous' but has a more kid-friendly feel and (in their opinion) a better pool. When we're traveling with just our family, we stay at the DLH, but if you're taking any first-timers or crowd-fearers, this is definitely the place.

We were apprehensive about eating here because of the very mixed reviews about the food, but we thought that the experience alone would be worth it. We were very pleasantly surprised. We were warmly greeted at the door and almost immediately escorted in. There was a short wait for the photo, and then Cinderella was a perfect in her role. There was then a short, but pleasant wait to be called upstairs. I started with the BLT salad and my partner with the corn and crab soup. Both were was excellent (and I'm a harsh critic). The presentation was very nice. Next we had the prime rib and the pork chop. Both are easy to over cook. Not overcooked, perfect!
We had planned dinner (starting at 6:40 p.m.) so that we would be done in time to go outside and watch Wishes from right in front of the castle. We realized that it was about 7:40 when our dessert was delivered. We could have easily eaten dessert and been outside by 8:00, but we would have needed to rush a bit. I thought they would try to rush us out, but as about 7:50 approached, it was obvious that they intended for all of us to stay. There was an announcement that during the Wishes the light level would be lowered and people should plan for that and not walk around in the dining room. We decided to stay. We are sure glad we did. It was very exciting to experience the fireworks inside. While we could not enjoy the show in the traditional sense, it was a unique experience. Some of the fireworks were being launched very close to the windows and were very loud. The piped in the Wishes music into the dining room, so it was very exciting. This alone made the experience worth it, but then add on eating in the castle, the princesses, the excellent food and a great waiter; this entire experience was to 10+. Truly magical.

If you have kids, this is a great option. The characters are always around, the kids are invited to participate in dancing every few minutes, and the food is fun and abundant, too. I wouldn't say it's the best food anywhere, but it's very good and served in a great atmosphere.
One caution: if you let your kids eat what they want, there will be tummy aches to follow. When we were there, they served as many desserts as main dishes, including "Goofy's Birthday Cake" which was, literally, 80% frosting (as only Goofy can make it!). Don't eat here and plan too much activity right afterward (unless you're prepared to deny your kids the colorful and abundant sweets and deal with the fallout).

I was terrified to ride on this thing for several visits. Once I finally did it, I was amazed at how much worse it looked from the ground. The biggest thrill is probably waiting for the CM to pull the proverbial trigger - once you launch, the whole thing is almost over already! There was a little air time at the top, and if you can keep your eyes open the view if fabulous for a few seconds. It's worth a try, but I wouldn't wait in a long line for it.

I rank this a 6 only because when my boys were little it was their favorite thing to do in DCA. The theming is cute and there are some sights, sounds, and smells along the way as Heimlich eats his way around the loop.
If there are no kids in your party, don't ride unless the line is five minutes or less. It doesn't move quickly, and it's not worth the wait.
