We really liked the Wave. I've gone twice for dinner when I was at a convention at the Contemporary. My wife and I both thought the food was incedibly fresh tasting. The flank steak I had was good, and I liked the sauces that came with it. For some reason the Wave has gotten a reputation as "healthy food", but it did not seem like that to us. It was just good, fresh food. The desserts were tasty, but we would have liked more of them.

I was nervous about this reservation because my husband is sort of picky and is a big meat and potatoes kind of guy. However, we weren't disappointed. We got the seasonal soup which was a creamy tomato soup and mini grilled cheeses, whcih we both loved. We also got the beef tenderloin which was served with a celery root mash. My husband was nervous about the side, but the server convinced him to try it. If he didn't like it she agreed to bring him something else. Well, the celery root mash was gone before the server could even check to see if he liked it! The tenderloin was amazing as well.
Dessert was my favorite part of the meal. I love the idea of having three separate small desserts because I always have trouble deciding. My favorites were the cheesecake and the chocolate mousse with salted caramel sauce (I know it sounds weird but trust me, it works!) I only wish the desserts were a little bit bigger for the price.
I suggest this restaurant to anyone, just make sure you go in with an open mind. My picky husband is already talking about going back and we aren't headed to WDW again until September 2010!

This isn't your standard resort restaurant. The wait staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. The food was outstanding. One of my favorite on-property restaurants and a change of pace from any other restaurant on Disney property.

If this review was for breakfast only, I'd give it a perfect 10! Definitely the best breakfast I have ever had on property, and this was on multiple occasions. Our lunch experience was worse - chicken salad had dark meat on it and the apps were uninspired.

I'd classify the Wave as "California" fusion for the adult palette (fresh veggies, not overly seasoned meat). It's got a nice quiet adult atmosphere, where you can eat a meal and walk out not feeling like a you've been deep fried. The sampling of desserts were very tasty (but unfortunately small for the price). I'd recommend a night out at the Wave if you'd like a break from chicken tenders and commando touring.

I thoroughly enjoyed the fresh, flavorful food here, and the service was attentive. The desserts came in threes, three small servings of different preparations, and stand out in my memory. I had chøcolate mousse with salted caramel sauce, lemon cornbread with coconut panna cotta and blueberry compote with yogurt cream topping. Each selection was light, satisfyingly sweet without being overbearing, and delicious.
The room was not very full and yet was extremely loud. It draws business from the convention goers at the Contemporary and I had a raucous party at a table near mine. I can't imagine the din if the room were full.
I'll go back for the food and get atmosphere somewhere else.

This was one of the meals I enjoyed the most from our last trip. The food was just so good and I loved the decor of the restaurant. I had the grilled marinated flank steak and it was amazing. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My husband had the cinnamon rubbed pork tenderloin and he really enjoyed it. He did not care for the apple cider sauce that was drizzled around the plate. Thankfully they kept it off the pork. We really enjoyed the desserts, just wished there had been more of it. The service was almost glacial but our waiter was very friendly, offered us champagne for our anniversary and even brought us over a card signed by him and some of the staff which was very sweet. I would love to eat here again on our next trip

The vegetarian sandwich is really nice and the super berry smoothie is very refreshing on a hot day. The mini desserts are delicious. Try the cheesecake, it has a caramelized topping and a berry sauce. Yummy!

We ate here for lunch. I had some sort of spicy chicken salad (it was not spiced at all, more "spiced"). It was very good and it filled me up, I would definitely get it again. My husband got a chicken sandwich and fries that he liked too. We both got milkshakes- one vanilla and one chocolate- they were soo good. I would definitely go back there again even if just to have a milkshake 
I like that it is an easy access hotel restaurant (that you can walk to it from the Magic Kingdom or hop on the monorail). Good lunch time food and good service.

We did not enjoy this restaurant. The menu is very odd and the server was not well informed regarding the options. We actually had to send 2 of our meals back to the kitchen.
I won't eat here again.

This restaurant was just a little too different for us. Celery mash, while not horrible, does not take the place of mashed potatoes. I would never take my children here, as the food was just a little too far out for them.
We sat at the bar, and the bartender was working a little too hard for her tip. But, we were well taken care of.

Snagged a last minute dinner here on Aug 14...arrived at 7 and seated right away. Our server Kim was the best!
DH had a glass of wine, I had the magical star cocktail. Both were great.
The grain bread and butter were the best, hot bread and creamy room temp butter!
I had the avocado citrus salad, it was huge, tons of creamy but semi firm avocado, orange and grapefruit segments and mixed greens...so good.
DH had the lettuce wraps, 3 bibb lettuce leaves with grilled marinated chicken and veggies...excellent
I had the linguini in a tomato broth and subbed out the clams for extra shrimp. The dish was loaded with tender shrimp and the pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente.
DH had the flank steak, super flavorful and tender, huge scoop of guacomole and sauteed squash.
We had 3 desserts, the sugar free option and the Celebration option....the were the perfect end to a perfect meal.

The Wave has the look and feel of a fancy restaurant. We went for dinner and had one unique dinning experience with dishes creatively prepared and presented. Desserts are served in chef picked trios, which might be a con for some people, but I found it refreshing.
The only con for me was that it took 2 hours from our reservation time, until we were done with our meal, which it was a little too long for me. But, I guess I might have gotten too used to the speed of family restaurants.

I had a steak there once...with the emphasize on ONCE!
It was tasteless...I could have cooked a better steak more seasoned and juicier with my eyes closed!
But I have heard some other items are good - but my review is of the horribke steak ONLY!

Dinner at the Wave was truly disappointing. My husband and I ate here on the first night of our trip to WDW. After a long day of travel and touring the parks, we were looking forward to a relaxing meal. We had an ADR, but still had to wait 20 minutes for a table in a restaurant that was not filled to capacity.
Finally seated, we waited for bread. Then we waited some more. And then some more. It took the waitress 40 minutes to bring us our bread and beverages.
For an appetizer, we shared chicken summer rolls. If we hadn't been so hungry, we would have sent them back. The rolls tasted like something you would get in a college dining hall. The bread, on the other hand, was delicious once it finally arrived. It was a whole grain bread and was hearty and flavorful.
For my entree, I ordered the beef tenderloin. It was tender, but completely lacked any sort of flavor.
Dessert was the meal's one saving grace. Desserts are served as 3 mini desserts on one plate. You can't go wrong with any of the options.
I wouldn't go back to The Wave again. The food is sub-par, the atmosphere in the main restaurant is lacking, and service was slow. 3 strikes and The Wave is out.

Visited Bay lake last August, was on the Disney dining plan.The Wave was the best restaurant had the best food of all the sit down meals we had. Everything we ate was good even the kids meals. The only complaint is the restaurant has no windows.

This was the BEST dining we had our entire Disney trip. It was fantastic. We ordered the local menu with swordfish and even the kids (who do NOT like fish), enjoyed it.
Besides the food, we liked that it was a nice restaurant and not the cafeteria style food we got in the parks.

We had breakfast here twice last week. The menu doesn't list a buffet but they have it. An absolute wonderful breakfast buffet! The only thing I didn't care for was the 'whole grain' waffles, they were brown and seemed to be dryed out. The waitress told us that with the whole grain that is the 'nature of the beast'. The restaurant seemed to be an 'unknown' because there were less than 20 people in the whole place. Don't let that fool you though. If you are on a budget this place is fantastic for breakfast.

We were a married Canadian couple travelling the first week of December. Eight nights, deluxe dining plan.
The Wave is the perfect drop-in place if you want a decent bite and a bit of break from the Disney-ness. It feels offsite when you're in it (except for the prices). It offers a pretty darn good Rueben.
It's not a destination for any other reason than getting away, but it's pretty good.

Food is very good. I had the Filet, and for dessert, the Creamy Indulgence. Didn't care much for the butterscotch flavor, but everything else was very tasty. Did have to wait in the lounge even though we were somewhat early for our reservation. Not really a restaurant for children, but they do have a kids menu.
