Positive aspects of the product (pros):
very convenient if staying at the Yacht Club, never crowded
Cons:
kind of blah atmosphere, food doesn't stand out (but it's solid)
We ate here a number of times while staying at the Yacht Club. You can't beat the location (while at the YC), and it's never crowded.
We had a late dinner here, and I thought we were seated right as they were closing. My wife and I felt badly, but the castmembers didn't blink an eye. We might have been the only ones in the restaurant, but the service was spectacular. We never felt rushed at all (we made sure she got a good tip).
The food was all very good, but again when I think of the menu nothing really jumps out at you. It's pretty standard fare. If you're looking for good food, and don't have an ADR this may be a good place to go.

Convenient, not crowded
Cons:
We ate there twice in 2003, once for Breakfast, once for lunch. The breakfast buffet was great. The lunch was pretty good. Prices very reasonable. Wait staff very friendly.

Food, convenient location
Cons:
I ate here last July, and was pleasantly surprised by the great food! I had a pork chop with an apple cider glaze. I was a little unsure about it at first, but it was actually one of the best meals I've had at WDW. For dessert I ordered a toffee cheesecake, and it was wonderful! It was a great piece of cheesecake, covered with fresh english toffee bits. There was also toffee flavor in the cheesecake. It is also so easy to get to! We had planned an evening at Epcot, and this was an easy boat ride away! It would also be great for anyone visiting Hollywood Studios, or preparing for a night out along the Boardwalk.

Pro: so close to Epcot & Studios
Cons:
Con: food was just so so
Our dinner on Friday May 15th was first marred by the fact that the pager system was down and they had to call out names for tables and they were very disorganized in that respect. My baked scallops were underdone & overpowered by breadcrumbs, the beans were overcooked and the potatoes were gooey. My husband's seafood pasta entree was inedible - the pasta noodles were underdone and seemed to have never been rinsed, leaving them to congeal into a starchy mess in the bowl.

Quiet pleasant atmosphere, excellent meal, great service

We had our first meal at Captain's Grille for lunch and feel like we discovered a hidden gem. The restaurant was very quiet, which is a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the parks. Our server was very attentive and friendly as well. I ordered the roasted turkey sandwich, which had apple slices, bacon, and cheddar on it. It was really oustanding--not your average turkey sandwich for sure! My husband ordered the angus chuck cheeseburger, which he enjoyed as well. We both had fries with our meals, and they were piping hot and tasty. We shared vanilla gelato for dessert, and it was delicious!
This is a great place to go if you'd like a quiet meal that is casual but tasty. We did have an ADR, but I would bet you could often get in here without one. We look forward to going back to Captain's Grille.

Great Food, Great Service
Cons:
Bar outside was a bit slow prior to being called in
We visited the Captain's Grille on June 8 for Dinner. The party size was 8, 5 adults and kids aged 13, 6 and 4. Everyone was impressed with the speed of service and the quality of food. My personal favorites were the Sam Adams sampler, which contained 3 glasses (5 oz each). They were Sam Adam's Boston Larger, Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat, and Sam Adam's Seasonal, which was Summer Ale. This was great. It was the same price ($6) as a glass of any one of them.
For my entree, I got the NY Strip, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I am a bland eater, so I got fries with it. For dessert, I had the English Toffee Cheesecake, which was delicious.
The kids meal was the usual fare, and my DD6 got the 3 marshmallows on a Mickey Straw for dessert, with the fixings and loved it.
I would highly recommend this as an option, especially if you are on the DDP!

Easy to get a seat
Cons:
The food is more of the same
This restaurant was distinctly indistinct. The food was food, it only stood out as being mediocre. It seemed to me that I could get better more inspired food at most other locations on the property. I had the steak and it was okay (but that's not a huge compliment). It seemed to me the the wait staff knew they worked in a lower tier restaurant and didn't go the extra "Disney" mile to make this a memorable meal.

We enjoyed lunch at the Captain’s Grille on December 7. Our meal here was excellent, and the quiet atmosphere was a very nice break from the hustle of the theme parks. For our entrees, we enjoyed the Roasted Turkey Sandwich (which has apples on it—delicious!), the Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and 2 of the Angus Chuck Cheeseburgers. Everyone declared this a unanimous success! For dessert we shared the cheesecake and the house-made gelato, both of which were quite tasty. I really feel like Captain’s Grille is a hidden gem. We can’t wait to return here and have already made an ADR to try dinner on our next trip.

Beautiful restaurant, wonderful location, great food
Cons:

We booked a ADR to the Captain's Grille on our first night in Florida, because we happened to be staying right next door in the Beach Club, and didn't want to stray to far from our hotel during our first night.
We were all pleasantly surprised with the Captain's Grille--the restaurant was very spacious, and had a nice theme to it. Our waiter was very attentive and recommended great selections.
I myself ordered the Mushroom and Onion Tart, which was delicious, especially to a huge mushroom fan like me. My father had the NY Strip, and was very pleased, and my sister and mother each enjoyed their dishes as well (a chicken and a ribeye dish).
For dessert, all four of us ordered a different kind so as to try the different selections. I got the Vanilla Gelato, which was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. We also ordered the Cheesecake, which was excellent, and probably my favorite out of all of them, and the apple tart and Key Lime Pie, both of which were very tasty.
All in all, if you are looking for a quieter setting to enjoy a meal to sit down and enjoy, the Captain's Grille is the perfect place to achieve this!

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Great Breakfast Buffet
Cons:
We ate here 3 days last week on the Delux DDP, with ADR's. Although it doesn't seem ADR's are needed they will make you wait 15-20 mins to be seated (even though the place is empty) as not to interfere with the guests with ADR's.
The breakfast buffet here is much better than the Cape May Cafe in the next building over. Some of the items changes daily while most stayed the same, was a lot better for adults than Cape May Cafe, which we ate at our last day of the trip. Don't wait for food at Cape May come here, and if I hadn't been staying at the Beach Resort I don't know if I would have taken the time to get there from anther resort unless I was at the Boardwalk, Yatch Club or Swan and Dolphin.

Went to this place with DS and DD and grandkids.
We had to wait about 30 min eventhough we were on time and there were tables empty. Server was just ok, slow and messed up our orders. DW and I had the steak and DS and DD had the crab legs. Food was cold and ok at best. This was our first time to eat here and will be our last. By far the worst resturant of the trip.

Food
Cons:
Wait and price
Food was very good, but we waited at the table for over almost an hour before our food arrived. My son has a dairy allergy and Disney restaurants are always great about making him food. This restaurant offered him a raspberry basil sorbet instead of cookies or ice cream. This may seem like a small thing, but when 3 other kids at the table are having ice cream sundaes it creates an issue. Food was good, but slow. Service was non existent even though the restaurant was only half full.

food was so-so, very slow service
for a deluxe resort resturant, we really expected better. This is a buffet breakfast, which was VERY ordinary. Waitress had on one table, us, but was practically invisable. Had to ask as the check in stand for the bill.
Not worth the money.

not a place to go if in a rush
We went for lunch on our trip in Nov. We wanted to try a place we had never been .
It was a bit on the slow side but we were just going back to our resort so it wasn't an issue.
Our sandwiches were great. I had the lobster sliders which were
full of real tasty lobster meat.

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Chef's pasta creation
Cons:
chatty server, lack of water
Let me start by saying, we have dined here for the past few years when on vacation. We have always found the food to be wonderful and the service to be some of the best on property in our limited experience. We looked forward to this meal this year as well. It is for this reason that I was so disenchanted with our experience on this trip.
We were seated immediately and our server was very friendly, very, very friendly. In fact she seem completely thrilled to be working (or having a captive audience), and wanted to share her insight on how we should spend our time in WDW. This could have been a pleasant thing, had she also wanted to share her excellent skills as a server too. My daughter had to ask for water three times over the course of our meal, which was finally delivered just as we finished our dinner.
My husband and son both ordered the Bourbon marinated N.Y. Strip. They are both meat lovers and it would take a lot to make them unhappy with food. They enjoyed their meal. Although the overly chatty server started to irritate my husband, who prefers to eat without listening to a relative stranger share her thoughts on our vacation. My daughter ordered the Chef’s Pasta Creation and as usual, she was happy with her choice. I ordered the Lump Crab cakes, which had the potential to be good, had they been even remotely warm. However, since the delivery of water to the table was an issue, I thought I had better not push my luck with wanting warm food as well.
I do not judge the the Captain’s Grille on this one experience in the four time previous we found this restaurant to be above expectation in every way. Perhaps it was an off night, and we just had a new server. I would try one more time and would not order the Lump crab cakes again. I may even bring a bottle of water, just in case.
