Positive aspects of the product (pros): A great number of new items to choose of their menu & a lot more tables to sit at Cons: None
I can say this a great upgrade over the old Food & Fun Center. It's got a very good menu and my personal favorite is their Chicken Caesar Salad with the dressing already on the salad. Also on Saturday's their soup of the day is the Chicken Corn Chowder, which is also very good.

This was one of the worst tasting burgers I've ever had. It was so dry and tasteless, a ton of mayonaise, mustard and ketchup could not help it.
To order, you have to use a kiosk, so instead of it taking 30 seconds to place an order, it takes about 5 minutes to get a hang of the system. Everyone was asking the cast members questions. Where do we get drinks? What's the process? Not good. The cast members are friendly and helpful, but it's not enough.
I would avoid this place again.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): BLT is yummy, location- just off monorail stop Cons: most of the food is blah, so I wouldn't expect much
Turkey BLT on multigrain bread is VERY GOOD.
This is about the only item on the menu I can recommend.Have tried a couple other things, but they were horrible ( ie meatloaf, burger)
My price was based on my entire order...which was one drink, 2 blts, one chicken finger and a brownie.
I am guessing the blt alone is about $8 +.

My husband and I ate lunch here upon our arrival to the Contemporary Resort on May 8, 2010. We just wanted a quick lunch before heading over to MK for the evening. I ordered the Stacked Ham Sandwich - Smoked, dill havarti and honey mustard on ciabatta bread. The sandwich was okay. We split it and DH didn't care for it much. It also said on the kiosk it came with arugula but it was shredded iceberg lettuce, which I don't care for. I scraped that off and it was just okay. The house made chips were pretty good. DH ordered a side of french fries and the portion was fairly small IMO. But they tasted like normal fries to me.
Avoid this if you can. There are better places for a similar price.

The food is edible, but I wonder why they thought some things would taste good on the same sandwich. There's little variety here and I was not pleased with what I ordered. I will not be returning here unless I find they have made a huge adjustment.

The burgers are just ok. The steak on the steak salad is overly tenderized, and mealy. Birds fly in and out of the monorail opening. Even the cashier didn't care for that.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Convenient for quick grab-and-go breakfasts and snacks, friendly service Cons: Lunch selections were hit and miss, kitchen a bit slow, coffee is astonishingly bad.
We had breakfast at Contempo Cafe almost every morning, but we stuck to the muffins, bagels, yogurt, and cereal. Bagels were a bit tough, but otherwise, it was adequate. Cupcake selection was also good for a quick snack. The location, right on the Concourse with a great view of the monorails, can't be beat.
Coffee, as is usually the case in WDW, was incredibly awful. If you need a morning cup, just head down to the 1st floor and get your coffee at Contemporary Grounds (warning: Contemporary Grounds is not on DDP).
We didn't have a problem navigating the kiosk ordering system, but the poor kid in front of us who accidentally ordered 7 platters of french toast clearly must have. Took a long time to untangle errors in kiosk orders at the registers.
Where Contempo Cafe failed was when we tried them for lunch. The kitchen took a long, long time to prepare a relatively simple order. Kids had an unremarkable generic cheese pizza, my wife had a flatbread that tasted like cheese and tomato sauce on cardboard. My spice-crusted Mahi sandwich was decent, but not worth the wait.
Bottom Line: Use Contempo Cafe for grab-and-go breakfast and snacks. Anything more than that, and you may be disappointed. And don't even think of ordering the coffee!

DVC member last visited in August 2011. Used both quick serve and table service options of the Disney dining plan. Don't waste your money on the table service, it's all the same food. That being said the Contempo cafe was the best restaurant we visited in 3 years at WDW. The food was really good and the service was excellent. Highly recommended.
