Positive aspects of the product (pros): quiet, usually uncrowded, good food Cons: closes early, not open late
Off the beaten path, but not far from DCA, Whitewater Snacks offers a quiet retreat from the noisy park. They have snacks and drinks you can grab from the refrigerator or you can order a cooked meal.
My favorite is the Chicken Sandwhich. I have ordered it several times and each time the portion of chicken was not skimpy like some park food. It comes with extas that you can't get at a park counter service, like guacamole. I found it to be a good value for what you get and they will cut it in half for you if you want to share it.
They offer indoor and outdoor seating, and during the winter they have outdoor heaters for the tables outside. The only downside is it closes well before park closing, so don't count on it for a late night snack.

We had breakfast here one morning. Both our sandwiches were yummy - I had a breakfast burrito that was great - but service was painfully slow. It was not busy but it took 15 minutes for hot food to appear. The outdoor tables are a lovely place to sit.

We ate here many times during our trip and loved it! Breakfast portions were large and made fresh.
This was our go to place for a quick meal!
