Positive aspects of the product (pros): Huge Portions (we split our meal and were still full). Cons: I wouldn't want to sit in the ice cave b/c of the lighting there.
We really liked what we ordered and the portions were huge. My DD & I split the flatbread appetizer as our entree and couldn't finish it, plus it was very tasty. DH had a steak sandwich and really liked it. We had a free app. because they give you one if you have a RFC card, so that was nice. Good service, too.
It's a bit loud in there, but it was a fun experience. I wouldn't want to sit in the ice cave room since the changing light colors would give me a headache.

The waitress literally took my menu from me and showed it to everyone page by page....at this point in the day, I am not up for being patronized....we sat through countless meteor shows until our food arrived and countless meteor shows until we received our check....we had two 4 year olds and two 2 year olds....and the kids were scared of the dinosaurs.....even the ones that proclaimed to like them. The service was bad, the atmosphere was too much. I was not happy when I left. I will not go back.

We had an amazing time at T-Rex!
It was very busy on a Wednesday evening (not that DTD is ever "slow". but we were hoping it woul dbe a little less nuts.) We had an ADR but there was a HUGE snaking line of at least 150-200 people streching from the entrance out into the plaza. We thought this must be stand by but we were wrong. After going up to the podium, we were directed to the dreadful line. Although it looked imposing it only took about 20 minutes to work our way inside to the front. We were then seated in the Sequoia room, which was gorgeous. After hearing both reviews on the podcast we were fearful it would be so loud inside that we could not carry a conversation. We found this to not be true at all. In fact we did not even have to raise our voices at all. It is pretty impossible to talk during the meteor shower, though so be prepared for that. Like at RFC the animatronics can be imposing and younger children may be frightened. Like the previous reviewer I wouldn't reccomend the ice cave dining room area if you can avoid it. It is bright but does not contain moving dinos, only fossils. To me it seemed louder inthe ice cave than out in the Sequoia room (the ice cave has a lower ceiling).
The dinosaurs are fascinating. I got a nice education on my kids about herbivores and carnivores while we waited...and speaking of...
The food was pretty good. We did not have high expectations and were pleasantly suprised. The portions were large. I had the Italian panini which was delicious. Our service was outstanding! Our server Brian was attentive without being overbearing and refilled my tea each time the instant my glass was 3/4 empty.
The cost was pretty high for two adult entrees, two kids meals, and four drinks around $90 before tip.
In my opinion T-Rex is an experience not to be missed. It was fascinating (although difficult) to walk around and look at the species of dinosaurs and other extinct creatures. I highly recommend trying this place out.
(Oh and if you spent enough money on dinner and don't want to spend any more then don't even go NEAR the Build-A-Dino (by Build-A-Bear...only dinosaurs!) in the gift shop!!!!)

Wow, was this place crazy when we were there on a Saturday night! I would not even attempt this without a reservation. My husband and I were the only ones without kids that we could see, which I expected but it was still kindof funny. I had a pasta dish that was ok and my husband has a steak and cheese sandwich (he rated it a 'B') The theming in this restaurant was amazing, something to look at everywhere. We were seated in the ice room, which I was excited about, but the light colors did change a lot. I would not hesitate to go here again if the theming is something someone in your party would enjoy, but it is a one-time is enough kind of place for us.

Took the kids for the afternoon to DTD (we live in Orlando), wanted to try out T-REX. There was a huge line in front, but mainly due to confussion, there are no signs telling you where to stand or go to for seating. Having been to Rainforest Cafe (same rest/different atmosphere), I knew to go to the podium. We were seated within 10 minutes, if I were an out of towner, I would have left after seeing the crowd, thinking the wait would be too long. This restaurant IS the Rainforest Cafe with Dinos. Instead of a rainstorm every 21 minutes, you get a meteor shower. I knew what I was getting into before entering: a loud, over crowded,slow staffed, basic overpriced menu type of restaurant. But thats ok, that's Disney!Afterall, your here for the atmosphere, not the food. Our waitress was slow, but friendly and accomodating, she explained the menu inside and out(annoying, but I understand why it's done) My 6 yr. old had the kids cheese pizza, my 14 yr. old the dino nuggets with fries and I ordered the chicken salad sandwich. The kids meals are basic fare and my sandwich was served on a croissant, quite large (enough for 2), and very good tasting. I had also ordered a side salad which was fresh and delicious and served with yummy bread.(enough for a meal by itself). We didn't mind the wait for food(45 minutes), because we took a tour of the restaurant, took photos and a quick stop in the restroom. The bill was just under 50.00 with tip(2 kids meals, 1 adult sandwich and an iced tea... OUCH!! , but expected. Overall, it was exactly what we expected it to be and we had a great time. I would recommend this to all visitors, it is a fun experience, just not one you can do everyday.

We liked it and would go again...for a special occasion.
The place seats 945 people. Yes, you read that correctly - the seating capacity is 945. So it is crowded. The rooms are interesting. We sat in the jungle room. I think the ice room would have been cool and would have definitely liked the sea room.
It is loud. It is expensive. But, the food was good. The kids meals were good - we had the 1/4 chicken with mashed potatoes. Nothing fried and it was yummy. Good choices for them. I had a burger - YUM and my husband opted for the boneyard buffet which had chicken (again, yummy) and ribs (which were good, but not as good as our Sticky Fingers restaurant in our town). I also split a bowl of tomato soup with one child - that was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Along with soft drinks and one appetizer, that was it for us.
It never got really dark - so I cannot imagine that my 7 or 8 year old would have been "scared." If I had a two year old, maybe. It is LOUD, did I mention that? Not jsut with dino noises, but with hundreds of people talking. I was amazed that I saw couples come in to eat - definitely NOT a place I would go jsut for dinner wtih my hubby. Absolutely a place to go with my kids.
My oldest, who is turning 9 this week, got to celebrate his birthday last week. They brought him a sundae and sang him a song - gratis.
So, would I go back next month? No. Would I go again two years from now when we are celebrating another son's birthday? Absolutely!

My fiance and I loved this place. The atmosphere is really amazing to look at, especially the bar area. Our food was pretty good too, way better than rain forest cafe. There is a good selection to choose from, our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I would eat here again.

No doubt here that this presents a cool dino-environment. Sure it's loud and slightly pricey, but the food is good and service isn't bad either. It's a great place to go once, but I wouldn't return unless I was with someone who hasn't experienced it.

My Group of friends are flying in from the Northeast all day and evening. We needed a place for everyone to meet for Dinner with our last group coming in at 08:00pm on a Friday Night. T-Rex stay's open late. Perfect for our first Dinner together. Fun,espically with a group. Great way to start a Vacation in Disney. Plus, DVC members get a discount. Can't wait to go back.

The experience is in no way worth the price, poor quality food, cursory service. The rib/half chicken platter was overcooked and not seasoned. My daughter's burger was the same, like eating a patty from the grocery wrapper. It is just too busy, the servers can't deliver good service with so many tables and the noise is just too much. As a part of the Landry's chain, I know what to expect from the Rainforest Cafe in our city and was hoping Trex was different. Unfortunately, that's not the case. If you have a choice, spend your money on a place like the Crystal Palace or another park restaurant you love. We should have gone there instead.

We visited T-Rex Cafe last November, it was very good food and the atmosphere is very nice. The dining area near the restroom was amazing! It was really pretty, I just wish we could've sat there instead of sitting by a very annoying dinosaur. The Lasanga and the chicken wings were very delicious! Staff was also very pleasant! I would go back.

We sat in the “meteorite zone” Holy CATFISH, does it get LOUD!!!, I took my Mom [who wears hearing aids] and she had to take them out, it is so loud. My brother & his family was with us. His son LOVED it! But it was a GREAT atmosphere. Best burger I had at Disney, or just about anywhere else, did not have high expectations; I was pleasantly surprised.

Eat anywhere else! Really! Rain Forest Cafe is more enjoyable than T-Rex. The wait with an ADR was insane! The restaurant is loud and cramped. I ordered a chicken salad and the chicken was served cold, not what I was expecting at all. My kids hated the waffle fries & Dino nuggets. Just an overall horrible meal. So not worth the hype!

Wile a bit pricey, this is the one meal my kids are still talking about out of our 7 sit down meals. The food was quite good, the server was attentive and friendly, and the portions huge. You could easily share a meal. The desserts were great.
