We just LOVE Fantasmic. The show is fantastic, the fireworks, music, has us dancing in our seats. The dragon and special effects in this show are amazing.
My kids are scared of the nightmare parts, but there is fair warning with the music so we have them cover their eyes. Great to see Mickey battling good and evil in his dreams. My favorite is all the characters coming out in the boat driven by Steamboat Willie- AWESOME!
We were overwhelmed by the crowds at first and getting out can be a little hairy. Be sure to arrive an hour before the show or if possible book a Fantasmic dining package, because it WILL be full- but it's worth the wait and hassle!

Fantasmic is my favorite nighttime extravaganza show. I love Wishes, but Fantasmic's story line of good triumphing over evil is spellbinding, not to mention the lighting and lasers! You are peaking in on Mickey's dream and you know how bizarre dreams can be.
The audience, which obviously has a lot of repeat visitors keep themselves entertained before the show by doing the wave and other whacky antics.
This is do not miss attraction in Disney's Hollywood Studios.
One word of caution, if you have little ones keep a tight grip on their hands. The crowd can get thick and losing your grasp on a child is easy.

Fantasmic is the best thing in any of the WDW parks. Sure, you have to face high crowds and get there an hour early to view it but once the show starts you forget about all that.
The story is easy to follow and contains many Disney favorites, such as Mickey, the princesses and a few villains. The best part of Fantasmic is when the Streamboat Willie boat finally appears at the end. The boat is full of favorite characters and sometimes a few rare characters that aren't even meetable in the parks.
To make the wait time before the show more enjoyable by grabbing some dinner before the show and eating while you are waiting.
If you do one thing at WDW it should be Fantasmic!

This is my favorites nighttime show. I have to see it every time I visit. There is just something so pure about it - it takes me back to my childhood. I love how all the characters are involved and the use of water, fire and music work together to bring this show to life.

This is a not to be missed show. The only drawback, especially since they have cut back on the nights that they do this, is the very large jammed packed crowds to see it, and the long wait that is needed to get into the theater.

I'll go against the grain here and state that Fantasmic is my least favorite fireworks show. Then again, I am not a fan of the castle shows as they seem very contrived, and to me Fantasnic is just a "juiced-up" version of one of those shows.
The aspect that I really dislike is the herding of the audience into the ampitheatre before the show. I feel trapped and at the mercy of other guests to try and find a good seat. Whereas with other fireworks show you can leave a volunteer and let the rest of the group wander around, with Fantasmic it is very difficult.
The fireworks are enjoyable and the story is cute, but definitely not a "wow" for me. I recommend trying it once, but for us, once was enough.

Fantasmic! is a fun, interesting nighttime show. My family really enjoys it, and I like that there is seating for the show (compared to the ones at MK and Epcot) so that everyone gets a good view of the action.

On purely technical merits, Fantasmic is a great show: Many of the characters, villains, and heroes, are in starring roles ... the music is grand and dramatic, and the water and pyrotechnic effects are amazing.
That being said, in my opinion only, I find this show overrated. That doesn't mean it's bad. It means it's overrated ... doesn't live up to the hype. True, you must get to the ampitheatre 1-2 hours ahead of time ... but that's not the reason for my review. I find the show to be too long, and does not evoke as many magical moments or emotion as say, Wishes or Illuminations.

This is a must see for me every trip! We never bother with the dining package or get there more than 20 min early- but allow more time for busy periods. IMO the best views are near the top row in the middle and those seats seem to fill up last since they make everyone move down to make room. You may get wet in the front rows. Snacks are available inside the theater, but you can also bring your counter service meal inside with you. It is dark, and the villians are plentiful, so it might be scary for tenderhearted little ones.

I love to go to this show about every other time I visit. I don't think its worth going every year. The crowds are insane at this show. I also think that the show is a little too long. The first time I went to this show, I wish it would have ended sooner. I love the music to this show. I bought the soundtrack a few years ago. I also think that the Disneyland Fantasmic is much better than the one in Florida.

I really enjoy this show, but would not wait for 1-2 hours for it. We always do the dining package since we are going to eat anyway. The show itself it very good, slow at times and I am still confused by the whole boat thing at the end.

This was the first time I'd seen this show in Oct. 2008. I loved the show, as it moved quickly from scene to scene, leaving no time for my then- 5 and 6 year old's to get bored. The show started late, and while the "wave" was fun at first, my kids, hubby, and I grew weary of this after about 15-25 minutes. We were in the "Pocahontas" section, and while viewing was good, there were a number of poles/light fixture thingamabobs that were in the way of our view. Even with moving a few benches forward and to the left or right (as families w/younger children abandoned the show) we could never seem to get away from the ominous poles.
The show is exciting and fun, and worth seeing once. I'm not sure I would see this on a return trip to DHS, within a couple of years. If you go to see the show though, don't feel pressured to do the dinner package- the theater is huge and no matter where you are seated, you will be able to see the action, and the package seats, from what I understand, are not that much better.
Here's a tip- the crowd tends to head left to find seating. You'll find plenty of seating to the right, even if you enter near the beginning of showtime.

A toss up between this and Illuminations at EPCOT as the best nightime show on property. The storyline is a bit choppy but generally is a good vs evil theme with Mickey coming out on top in the end. Tons of characters appear throughout the show and then all come out at the end. Not to be missed!

I love this show!! I always get there an hour early to see it and I am never disappointed by it. The projection onto the water spray is genius and the interpretations of all the Disney movies is beyond compare. My favorite scene is at the end when we get to see Mickey dressed up in a certain garb that has been a long time coming. I do have issue with the crowds, but this is Disney after all, so you can't really complain about that. The problem I have is that if you are there at the right time, you can see Illuminations in the background. I'm ADD enough that it takes me out of the show, and it also ruins the immersion effect. You would think Disney would find a way to fix this.

Our favorite nightime fireworks show. Fantasmic! has an awesome story line that is easy to follow. The only downside is the funneling of the crowd when entering and leaving the show. While watching the show you don't notice the mass of people because the theater is very large.

We love fantasmic and never miss it. The Pocahontas section is outdated and needs to be redone. The effects are amazing and the music sticks with you. The opening of the show and grand finale are outstanding. I hope they get this running nightly again and re-theme some things in the middle part of the show.

This is a great nightime show. Love the projections on the water and sorcerer mickey. Sit up front if you want to get wet. It is too bad you have to get there so early. You can do the Fantasmic dinner package for reserved seats, but these are not the seats with the best views (although there is really not a bad view in this stadium).

The show is really, very cool, but it is a bit too large for me. It is somewhat hard to focus on one thing as there is so much going on in such a large arena. But it is still wonderful. My biggest complaint is the system for seating. We used the reserved seating from booking lunch at the Brown Derby, but had our show ruined by very rude people who snuck under the rope. Even without that problem, the amount of time spent waiting surrounded by strangers (and most of them doing the wave over and over and over) gets pretty uncomfortable. Of our three trips to DHS, we have only seen it once. Perhaps we'll go back the next time.

I love Fantasmic!, but coming from Disneylands Fantasmic I was a little sad. I realize that there isn't as much space to work in as Disneyland, but Pocahontas over the fight between Hook and Pan on the ship "Colombia", come on. And the big finale being a sad little steamboat over the grandeur of the "Mark Twain" paddle wheel, what can I say. I do like that you have seating in the amphitheatre, where at Disneyland you might have to "camp out" on the ground or along a brick wall for awhile. All in all, Fantasmic is AWESOME!

In my opinion, this is the best fireworks/entertainment show in all of WDW. The first time I saw it, I was amazed at how well all of the pieces of the show came together to form an absolutely stunning finale. The pyrotechnic displays and water technology are also enjoyable to watch. Also, the entire concept of Mickey against the various Disney villains is something that I have never gotten tired of seeing. As a matter of fact, I enjoyed this show so much when it went in 2007, I went and sat by myself to watch it again in 2008 (I was shocked that the rest of my family did not want to see such a good show, but my love for the show brought me to see it), and I was not disappointed.
While the theater can be somewhat crowded at times, if you arrive early enough, you should be able to get a fine seat without a problem. The earlier show is usually more crowded than the later show is, so if there is a later show, you should attend that one. I have attended both shows and have found that there are more people at the first show than at the second show. However, I think that showing up 2 hours ahead of time is absolutely ridiculous. When I went to see Fantasmic! in 2008, I arrived all by myself approximately 15 or so minutes early, and I was still able to get a seat (it was toward the back, but that didn't bother me). This is by far the best evening show at WDW and it is not to be missed.

We LOVE Fantasmic. Mickey and the inclusion of so many characters is really the reason it is so popular. The waterscreens and fire effects are impressive, too. We sit at least 1/2 way back to avoid getting wet. The wait is not fun, but you MUST arrive very early to get in. There are hot dogs and drinks available for purchase, and restrooms inside the amphitheater. The biggest downside is that this show relies upon the weather. If there is lightning in the area, the actors aren't safe and they must close the show. There are lots of thunderstorms in the evenings, so you may wait and find the show is cancelled at the last moment. Still this hasn't been an issue for us, and it is worth a shot to see a truly exciting and beautiful show. We have not been in a few years because it is loud and the story line can be overwhelming and scary for the little ones. The Wicked Queen from Snow White and Maleficent play prominent roles.

I have seeen this show a number of times and love it more each time I see it. It seems I see something new each time and look forward to it each time I go to Disney. The only downside is if you want a good seat for the show you will have to get there at least an hour before the show starts otherwise your stuck not seeing the whole show or worse having to stand.

I don't want to compare parks, but it is so hard to enjoy this when you have seen Fantasmic! in Disneyland. If you choose to skip this, go ride the rides around the venue as these eats a lot of guests. Avoid those rides, however, when this lets out. (When there are two shows that night.)
