Positive aspects of the product (pros): perks of being on property Cons: far to walk
Hotel was very nice and clean. Yes you walk, but we stayed at GCH last time and with the floor layout I think we walked more to get to our actual room than we did at PP! Store in the lobby is cute and a good place to pick up snacks.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Close to the Esplanade Cons: light on theme
As a hotel it is above average (relative to price), and was enjoyable. We did not find it a far walk at all. The Grand Californian is across the street and you just pass through it and you are at Downtown Disney.
It is still too expensive and there are better hotels that are just as close.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): disney theming Cons: there are cheaper hotels closer to the parks
I think I stayed here in 2006. I loved the mickey beach theming. I rooms were adorable. The morning cafe was open early to grab a bite before going to the parks. The staff was friendly & provided great service. Self-parking was close enough.
The con, however, was the distance walking to the parks. Although I must admit when I stayed here, I wasn't that familiar with the best routes. I think if you feel you NEED to stay at an official disney hotel & can't afford the others, then stay; else why not try fairfield inn by marriot?

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Staying onsite Cons: Distance
Although it is a Disney hotel and I am a HUGE fan of staying onsite only...this hotel is quite far from the parks. I like the room size, the lobby elevator and staff is always super friendly. It used to be more convenient when you could just walk along a path and hop on the monorail or take the tram behind the hotel. Since neither of these are an option these days it seems like a super long walk. If staying onsite is important to you and price is a factor then this may be the place for you. Room size is adequate and I have never had an issue with cleanliness here.
The rooftop pool can get crowded but is nice. Also if you stay with a theme park view it's a straight shot over to California Adventure. I like seeing the park lit up at night. All in all I would recommend this hotel.

I have just returned from a stay at PPH. The room was much bigger than the room we had last year at the DH. We had five adults staying in our room. The daybed was comfortable, as were the beds. We had no problems with long waits at the elevator as others have mentioned on other sites. The hotel was very convenient to the parks, especially CA. We just walked out the door by the restaurant and across the street, through GCH and into CA, or throught the hotel to DTD and to DL. We did not really eat at the hotel, or use the pool, so I don't have any real opinion about those, the shop was more than adequate. The only improvements I would like to see would be better bed linens and better pillows. The pillows were quite sad, although they were quick to deliver additional pillows. The staff was nice, helpful and courteous. All the perks of staying at an offical Disney Hotel are there, the television channels with park information and the access to the early entry into DL.

Rooms are very LARGE and spacious and clean and bright. Staff is very friendly, definitely has the Disney feel! Stayed concierge level and though it was fun not sure it was worth it. Have stayed at all Disneyland hotels, think this one gives most bang for the buck. Great value. Pool is fun - the slide is a lot of fun but doesn't go directly into the pool which is a drawback. The walk isn't that long. Feels safe of a walk so more happy letting kids off themselves. Lots of little Disney touches. Good character breakfast.

Have stayed at this hotel twice in the past few years, and about to stay there again in November. Rooms are large, well appointed and clean. The service is good.
The cafe in the lobby is open very early, which makes getting to the park for early entry much easier. The early cafe breakfast burrito is large and delicious. Plenty enough for a hungry person, and probably enough for two lighter eaters to share.
It is a bit longer walk than the other hotels, but considering how much walking one does in the parks, it hardly seems to matter.
The elevators are very overcrowded in the morning, especially if you are leaving to arrive near the normal park opening time. Be prepared to wait a long time to take the elevator to the lobby, or else just use the stairs.
My only big complaint is that the rooftop viewing of the nightly Disneyland fireworks is marred by the fact that the sound system barely works, (this happened every evening on both trips). All we could hear was static or brief moments of extremely mufffled music. Considering the last two trips were 6 months apart, it would seem this is the standard state of affairs and not a one time problem. Very sad, considering this could be fixed quite easily and with very little expense.

Great stay at the Paradise Pier. Ive been to Disneyland many, many times since the 60's but have never stayed on property before. I will return to this place. We stayed on the concierge level in a cabana room which had a patio that faced the pool very nice. Went around Dec 13/2010 very warm temps so we did use the pool and slide. The slide does not exit into the pool which was kind of a bummer. The room was great and I talked to some other folks who were locals that regularly stay here during the holidays. They told me the rooms here were actually larger than the Grand Californian at one quarter of the price for concierge level. The food and snacks in the private concierge level were plentiful and great. The staff here did a great job and even encouraged us to grab six packs of water to take into the park. They never said no to bringing food back to the room or drinks (including wine and beer). Yoshi the beverage and food manager does a great job here as well as Timothy and the rest of the concierge staff who added a lot of Disney magic to our stay. We had 5 first time visitors with us and the staff at the desk gave them first timer badges and they were recognized all around the Paradise Pier and given little keepsake gifts by staff. Sorry to say the badges must have disappeared once we entered the parks where staff never (not once) recognized them once. That was the only down side about our trip. Don't miss the character breakfast here as well. It is interactive with a great Disney cast member who will get you up dancing with Mickey and the gang. Lots of fun and the food was fantastic. All for a very reasonable price.
Lots of stuff going on here during Christmas including some carolers who sang in the lobby (incredible voices).
I cant say enough about the staff here. Stay at the Paradise Pier-Disneylands best kept secret.

We stayed at the PPH for the first time in early March 2011. We were thrilled to see our Park View Room! The room was one of the newly remodeled rooms with new bedding & carpeting. The room was bright, cheery, clean, Disney beach themed with a wonderful view of DCA.
The beds are very comfortable, sleeping in ended up being an issue. We had lots of room & places to store our stuff. The desk has a roll out table that we found handy for using the laptop on. We had a fridge & microwave & all the ammenities we needed.
We were able to watch the World of Color show from our window & hear the music simulcast on the tv.
The staff was very friendly & always at least said hello in passing. The staff was also helpful in answering questions & printing boarding passes for us.
I would stay here every visit if we could afford to do so. I think this hotel is a hidden gem & would pick this hotel over the other two!!

Arrived late on a Monday night Jan 2012, concierge was closed for the night. There were no lines on the ground floor and check in happened quickly. We stayed on the 3rd floor (room 337). The room was clean but the sink was backed up. We notified a cast member and it was fixed immediately. I thought decorated nicely and the beds were very comfortable. My family enjoyed the stay in the hotel very much and I would stay there again. My biggest complaint was the concierge hours. (6am-8pm) Since Park hours were short this time of the year it was difficult to use the services.

We arrived early and hoped to check in before we went to the park, but were denied till 3:00 pm. We knew the rooms were empty and cleaned, but they still made us wait. I have been to several hotels and have never seen such a poor set-up when it comes to elevators. If you are on a lower floor, it is faster to ride the elevator up just to get down. On our third night, they started a construction project directly below our room. Try sleeping to the sound of a hammer drill next to your head. We complained and they kept on working atleast till 2 am. We got our night refunded to us. They also forgot to mention that the pool was closed for construction when we booked. Next time I will spend the extra and stay at one of the other two Disney Hotels.
