This is one of the places we always go to.. it has something for everyone my family of 6 can split up and we all get what we want and we all sit on the patio with overlooking the castle.. it is a great place for the view and the food selection.

Great variety food! If you are a family it may get a little hectic if one kid wants a burger and ones wants chicken. If you have the dining plan everyone has their own card and go to whichever line they want (with the exception of the little ones). The food is good too. It can be a little crowded during peak dining times, as all the counter service locations are, so consider dining during off hours.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Several Choices Cons: The Bays
Cosmic Ray's has alot of food choices and they aren't all burgers and fries. There are several more "healthier" choices as well. If you are on the DDP and want to get the most value out of it, get the 1/2 BBQ Chicken and Spare Ribs meal. The show with Sonny Eclipse is fun too. The only negative that I have is if you have people in your party that want different things you have to go to several different bays to order your food and that could create some miscommunication on where to meet to sit.

Cosmic Rays is a good choice if everybody wants something different, but that can also be a problem as you have to go to a different pod for each type of food. Burgers here, chicken there. You can spend a lot of time waiting around to order. I also found it a bit crowded but the food was good theme park fare.

Food is generic fast food.
One thing I didn't like was that there is a separate counter for burgers, sandwiches and chicken. So if you have family members who want different things, you have to line up in more than one spot.
It's a nice spot though to take a break in an air-conditioned setting around mid day.

I love eating here for the food and the atmosphere. They offer options that are different from the ordinary fast food with chicken and ribs options. Seating options vary from indoors in a quiet corner to outdoors viewing the Castle. Great place to eat.

I like Cosmic Rays because neither my daughter or I are bit eaters. We can split a rotisserie chicken entree and a drink and get out of there for less than $20. The chicken makes a great dinner meal, comes with mashed potatoes and green beans. However, it can be extremely crowded in there and although I love Sonny, he sometimes just adds to the din.
I love being able to snag a table on the patio, especially if we can eat looking up at the castle.

There are many good options here - not just burgers and fries, but if different family members want different things, you have to stand in more than one line to order. An impossible situation for our family. For that reason, this place drives me crazy! It's also crowded and noisy and difficult to find a place to sit.

This restaurant has a food court type atmosphere. Each different 'bay' has a different type of food, so there is enough variety for the whole family.

My kids love this restaurant because it's quick and they love to watch Sonny Eclipse. The best part is the toppings bar. They have more choices for your sandwiches, such as sauteed mushrooms, cucumbers and tomatoes. They also have a pretty good veggie burger, for Disney standards.

The chicken strips were great, and of course Sonny Eclipse is great. However, if you come in after a long morning in the park the lines are quite daunting. They do get extremely long, even in the down periods. But as far as counter service goes, it is one of the better places.

We don't love to eat here, but it does offer something for every taste. The chicken caesar is HUGE. Sonny Eclipse is great for kids, but the space is too large and open and gets messy. In spite of the size it still gets very crowded.

We usually eat at Cosmic Rays at least once when we come to WDW. I like that they have some options other than chicken fingers and burgers! They do have those choices too but I can recommend the 1/2 rotisserie chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans ($9.49 as of last Fall). I would avoid the temptation of getting this meal as a chicken and rib combo though. The ribs were a disappointment but the chicken was good!

The ood here is good and has a nice variety, even for the most picky eater (which I am!) A particular favorite of ours is the half rotisserie chicken with mashed taters and a veggie. But the main reason I love this place is the atmosphere! I don't care if I just come in for a coke and to relax I have got to see "Sonny Eclipse". It is just such a fun and unique part of the place. I never get tired of it!

Roast chicken is a good staple and quick option from having a burger.
The queue to order food can be slow.
Aside: if someone in your party thinks that Sonny is live performer, just let them continue to believe that. DH said, "you know he's an animatronic, right?" I was so sad...lol!

This was by far the worst meal that my husband and I ate while at WDW. We both had chicken sandwiches, and they were AWFUL. They didn't even resemble chicken. They were overcooked, dry, and barely edible even with fixins.
This is exactly what people complain about when they refer to "theme park fare". Even the fries were bad. This was a meal to remember, for its pure awfulness.
Yes, Sonny was cute. And the AC was much appreciated on a 95 degree day. But I would not recommend Cosmic Ray's unless you are starving and have absolutely nowhere else to eat in the Magic Kingdom.

For counter service, there is a nice selection here with the 3 areas to order from. It can get difficult if different family members want items from different ordering areas.
The fixings bar here is very nice. I love to put fried onions and mushrooms on my hamburger and I can do that here. I also like to use the cheese sauce for dipping my fries in.
Even though there is a huge seating area in this restaurant, it gets very crowded and hard to find a table.

This restaurant is great because of the fixin's bar they have for burgers. If you don't want a burger, they have several options. For two adults, this worked out great. However, with children it could get a bit tricky making everyone happy. You can only order certain foods at certain counters.
But, for variety, I would say this is the best choice for Magic Kingdom. There is seating in and outside.

This place was super crowded during the normal lunch time. Indoor seating was a nice respite from the heat. Diverse menu selection and the condiment bar even had mushrooms for the burgers.

Yes, the selection is there, but it really is still just run-of-the-mill burgers/chicken/fries/nuggets et al. The quality of the food is no better than your local fast food joint. Don't get me wrong - we know what were getting so were OK with it. The selction is wide, always cool inside and the atmosphere is great. But you have to be in the mood for fast food type food.

I stop here every trip to MK because, as a kosher food eater, this is the only place to have a kosher meal in the park without an ADR (unless it's ice cream for dinner!). Kosher food is the same in all counter service locations in the parks that offer it. The down side with Cosmic Ray's is that each line gives you one kind of meal (you can only get the chicken nugget meal on the chicken line) - so, CR's offers three kosher meals, but each kind is on a different line. We usually just get chicken nuggets all around to avoid waiting on multiple lines.
Great location. Get a FastPass for Pooh or Buzz and then sit & eat lunch...

Up until my last visit, I always passed this place by...what a mistake. We found the selection to be great, everyone could have what they wanted. Each one of us, went to a different bay and then met up at the table. We all got what we wanted and were happy with the food. The fixins bar was a nice addtion.
