The Haunted Mansion is a classic Disney attraction that is "just right" on the scary scale for kids. It's a great mixture of scary and fun. It's a great eight minutes of air conditioned bliss on a hot day as well. Be sure to look for a hidden Mickey and watch out for hitch-hiking ghosts.
The queue line has a few surprises as well, *hint* watch Madam Leota's tombstone carefully.
The one thing this attraction could use, and I don't say this often, is a gift shop at the end. I would love to collect a few more Haunted Mansion chatchke's to bring home. The cart near the exit really doesn't cut it.

This is the ride that finally converted my curmudgeon dad from thinking of Disneyworld as "just another amusement park". Theming is nothing short of spectacular. We ride this ride repeatedly and still do not think we have seen everything! Every aspect of the ride tells a story, and the special effects are breath-taking.
(There ought to be a category greater than "10" for this ride!)

This is a wonderful themed ride. The recent rehab only added to the greatness. There are some good hidden mickeys on this ride so look out for them.

Another ride I love!! It is so neat to ride through this old haunted mansion and you never know what you may see. I love the ballroom scene (and there is some neat trivia that accompanies it) and Madame Leota!!! Lots of trivia surrounds the Haunted Mansion and it is all so very cool. The stretching room can get a little crowded. I'm glad they don't do the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay on this one because a lot of people visit at the same time each year and may would never get to experience the glory of the Mansion in its original form, unlike at Disneyland.

We love this ride! It's so immersive and has a great story line. The ride is fun throughout the attraction. This is definitely a must do when we go to the Magic Kingdom! The Ghost Host is excellent and we love the ending.

With the recent refurb, this attraction has become even better. From the sounds in the streching room, to the attic scene to the gaveyard - this attraction is one of the best at Walt Disney World. It's awesome when experienced during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

A Disney classic at it's best. This is a great spooky ride. It may be intense for younger kids, my 5 year old daughter was a bit freaked out, but otherwise fun fun ride. Love it when the ghosts "hitchhike" with you at the end - my 8 year old thought that was a riot!

Another icon Disney attraction. The theming here is so good and the recent refurb added some excellent elements. It can be a bit intense for the youngest kids, but its not scary for older kids and adults. Nothing really jumps out at you or tries to grab you--its not a haunted house like at the carnival. Sit back in your doom buggy and enjoy.

While the ride is quite humorous to most people, for very young children, this attraction can be quite scary. I've witnessed more than one child screaming in fear just in the queue. However, it is a classic attraction and wonderfully done.

This attraction is one of my top 5 in all of Walt Disney World. It's scary at parts, funny in others, and it has been updated beautifully! So many classic lines have come out of this attraction, plus that fantastic tune.
Did you know the slow organ played at the beginning of the ride is the same tune, only slowed down, that supports "Grim Grinning Ghosts"? Well, now you do!

The Haunted Mansion is a quintessential Disney World attraction. From the cobwebs to the amazing story line, it is one ride that should not be missed! The dark atmosphere and goulish sounds may scare some small children, and the moving walkway that leads to the Doombuggies may cause problems to those that are shaky on their feet.

This is one of my favorites! All the effects are incredible. I love the dancers and the hitchhiking ghosts. This may not be a good ride for very little ones or anyone afraid of the dark or of ghosts.

I was worried when they started the revamp, I thought it was already a ten, what can they do but ruin it?
How wrong was I? The changes make it even better. Don't worry it's still super cheesy and all of your favorite schtick is still there, there's just a little bit of new stuff thrown in.

This is many people's favorite attraction and it is easy to see why. Disney has created an amazing story filled with laughs and scares. Lining up for this attraction is the highlight as your lead into a dark parlor with incredible atmosphere. Look up during the lightning strike to catch a dreadful sight!!!

This is my # 1 Disney sttraction. Always go on multiple times during a trip to WDW. So much to see. Familiar voice of the "Ghost Host" and the music that everyone knows makes this a premium Disney attraction.
This is a perfect example of why Disney blows Universal away. Not a thrill ride but the themeing and attention to detail screams(pun intended) Classic Disney!

My absolute favorite Disney attraction. Its roots date back to Walt Disney himself, and it is one of the most Disneyesque rides in the park. With the most recent updates, it's better than ever, and rarely suffers from the technical problems it did previously.

Quite possibly a "perfect" WDW attraction, one of the few well-deserved "10's" that I've given.
Why?
Theming: appearance of the mansion itself as it looms in a foreboding way; the courtyard beyond the iron gates, the cemetery outside, the cast members *in character* ... the entire feel before you even set foot inside.
Attention to detail and effects: every scene inside is amazing and can be studied for hours and hours from floor to ceiling and all around.
Music: from the organ, to the grim grinning ghosts, adds to the perfect theming
Story: madam leota and the legend of HM has been discussed forever.
Repeatability: can never tire of it.
A true Disney classic.
