Description: The Chefs de France Restaurant is patterned after a Parisian brasserie. It's ringed with windows where you can watch the hustle and bustle outside while enjoying a leisurely, delicious meal. As with most Epcot restaurants, you can anticipate a upscale dining experience while dressed in your casual garb. Crisp white linens, elegant surroundings, fine French cuisine and attentive service combine to make Chefs de France a popular dining choice. Positive aspects of the product (pros): Wonderful food, especially the profiteroles! Cons: Servers can be indignant
We've had lunch and dinner here and all courses of both meals were excellent. The atmosphere is wonderful as well. Now that Remy is here, it's just a bonus!
I was starting to feel sickly and asked our server if I could get some honey for my tea as it soothes my throat. She quite pointedly said, 'we do not have honey here.' I thought it a bit strange since everywhere in the World I've been has been able to give me a packet or side container of it. I asked if she could pls check with the kitchen and when she came back she just rushed past the table and said, 'none.'
On another visit our server disappeared for a long while.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Wonderful Server Cons: atmosphere
Our server was very friendly. She tried very hard, but it was very hard to understand what she was saying.
The food was good, but nothing spectacular. I am not a fan of French food, but tried this because of the podcast review.
Had it been for the server and food, I'd say we'd try it again. However, the atmosphere was just not appealing. We felt very crowded where we sat. And, the person in charge of the dining room was not friendly at all. He walked around with an arrogance that made me feel very unwelcome. As we sat close to the front of the restaurant, he had many opportunity to be pleasant and great us, and he walked by barking orders.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Affordable set menu, nice decor, Remy! Cons:
We decided to go here on our last day at WDW and we were not let down. While the food may not be to everyone's liking I felt it was good value for three courses.
The making of this meal is, however, the appearence of Remy the Rat. Having not known that he was appearing it was a genuinly pleasant surprise for me.
A good experience and one I would be willing to repeat.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): creme bruele Cons:
This was my first time to eat here, and I will be going back for sure! I had the onion soup, chicken with potatoes, and creme bruele. I was unsure about the soup b/c I do not care for onions. However, I loved it. It was very cheesy! The chicken was wonderful, and the potatoes were crispy on the outside. The dessert was probably my favorite part of the meal. Our server was also great. He was attentive and made sure we were enjoying our meal. I regret having waiting until my 10th trip to WDW to try this place!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Great Atmosphere Cons: Dry chicken
This locale has become a staple for my wife and me. We first visited back in January 2008, and we have made a concerted effort to go back whenever we spend an extended period of time at Walt Disney World. It has the most authentically European atmosphere of any of the restaurants we have visited in World Showcase.
This visit on August 5th was our first for dinner. We chose to take advantage of the Price Fixe Menu that they currently offer, in which one can choose from 2-4 different appetizers, then entrees and then desserts. For the first course, we both chose their incomparable French Onion soup (I flirted with the idea of getting Lobster Bisque, but opted for this staple instead). This soup contains a hearty serving of bread to soak up the broth and a generous topping of cheese that would make lesser versions of French Onion soup tremble in fear and trepidation. They also serve hard rolls as a complimentary appetizer. They are good on their own, but they become outstanding when dunked in the French Onion broth.
For her main course, my wife chose the rotisserie-style quarter chicken. The chicken was tasty on the outside, but the center was unbearably dry. Had some sort of sauce accompanied the chicken, it would have improved it exponentially. Served with the chicken was a braised tomato and roasted potatoes. The potatoes, while good, seemed somehow out of place as a side dish here, as they more closely resembled breakfast home fries than anything else.
I chose the broiled salmon, which was served with tartar sauce that contained a hint of horseradish to give it a little zip. It was very good! Accompanying the salmon was Ratatouille, in more ways than one. The ratatouille on the plate was an interesting experience. The stewed tomatoes and zucchini were very poignant flavors. In the end, I was only able to eat about half the portion because it was simply so filling, and I knew I had to save room for dessert.
The other Ratatouille that accompanied the meal was none other Remy himself, the star of Disney/Pixar’s 2007 hit, “Ratatouille.” He came around to each table on a huge serving cart, though the audio-animatronic Little Chef only occupied a small plate of fruit and cheese on top. He was very expressive, and although he did not talk, he would orientate himself towards you if you spoke to him. When the server who accompanied him noticed our “Happy Anniversary” buttons, Remy squeaked in congratulatory delight. It was quite possibly the cutest thing we have ever seen.
Following Remy was dessert. We both chose the Crème Brulee, which is absolutely delicious, no elaboration necessary.
Additionally, our server provided an extra touch of Disney Magic. He presented us with a card that read “Celebrate Today!” on the outside. The inside of the card was originally blank, but he had a few of the other servers had written “Happy Anniversary!” and signed the card. One particularly gifted artist had drawn in a French flag with map colors. It was just a little touch of thoughtfulness that made us feel extremely special. We left the restaurant smiling because of it. Once again, Chefs de France did not disappoint, and we are already looking forward to our next visit!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Location, decor, meeting the rat, and service Cons:
There were six of us eating lunch at this location on the dinning plan with an ADR. We were seated at our ADR time without waiting. One benefit to ordering from this menu is the French Menu, which offers the choice of lobster bisque, or onion soup; ham and cheese sandwich or quiche loraine; and profitteroles, or creme brulee. Two of us ordered the French Menu, one had the quiche and other the ham and cheese sandwich, and both were delicious. They both had the lobster bisque which was amazing. Two of us had the brazed short ribs and ate everything on our plates it was that good. One had the salmon and thought it was very good. One had the hamburger and ate the whole thing and the presentation of the fries was very nice. For dessert four had the creme brulee and found it to be the best creme brulee in all of Disney World. One of us had a chocolate mousse cake and thought it was very good. Our son thought the crepes (very thin pancakes) were delicious. The interaction with Remy was very cute and well presented. This was the main reason we made the reservation but will now return because we found out how nice the food is

Positive aspects of the product (pros): service, good food Cons: noisy; crowded; small rooms
My husband and I ate dinner here for the first time in Oct 2009. This restaurant has been on our "to do" list for quite some time so we were eagerly anticipating the experience.
We were on the DDP and we added appetizers. DH ordered the french onion soup which he enjoyed very much. I ordered the goat cheese and walnut salad which was also good. The crusty bread served with the meal was delicious as well.
We both ordered the chicken as our entrees. Honestly, I was not that hungry going in and the salad pretty much did me in so I may not have been in the best position to enjoy the dining. Having said that we both agreed that the entree was underwhelming. The chicken was very dry and the tomatoes were rather bitter.
I was so full I couldn't eat half of it, but being on the DP we decided to taste dessert. We ordered the profiterolles au chocolat and they would have been soooo good if I had had room. For both of us, the appetizers and desserts were the better part of the meal.
We had a delightful young man as a server and he was friendly, attentive and helpful without being intrusive.
The restaurant manager announced out anniversary as we were called in to be seated, which was sweet. The restaurant is very crowded and noisy.
I'm not sure we would go back since we've had better food and better atmosphere. My gauge is always "if I had paid for this would it have been worth it?" and we agreed that we didn't think it would have been. Splitting a meal here might be a better way to enjoy the experience without spending a fortune.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): the food; Remy; the waitstaff Cons: felt guilty staying too long at the table
My 21 year old son didn't know about Remy, until he appeared. He honestly squeeled with delight! The Armand/actor was very interactive as well. We ate the specials as recommended, and they were delicious! The waitstaff came out and sang "Happy Birthday" to our 21 year old son as though he was still a young kid, and then offered him a glass of wine.

I love this place - it is always the dinner I look forward to the most. From the soup, to the entree, to the dessert, everything is perfectly portioned and tasty. I love that Remy and his friend come around to the tables.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Atmosphere Cons: Food
We love the real feel of a french restaurant. The wait staff is, in our opinion, what you get in France... so what everyone complains about is what we look forward to.
This was our 5th time eating here and this one wasn't a good one. We love French dining, but this just was o.k... not that it's all too important... but the beans i was served were prepared and tasted exactly like the beans i got the night before at Chef Mickey's... tells you something.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): great deserts Cons: no remy after 8:00PM
Not only is the restaurant beautiful, but so is the staff! Our boys were fasinated with our waitress. We went for dessert right before illuminations. Got in with a short wait. We loved the cheese plate with bread(should have ordered fruit with it though) and the creme brulee. We missed Remy, which was sad, but had a nice time chatting with the waitress about her experiences here in the states. It was a great way to end the evening.

I ordered the salmon - should have know better in a french restaurant, however my wife's tenderloin was excellent. In typical french tradition, the deserts were great. Service was top notch as well.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): food, service, atmosphere Cons: hard to hear Remy
5/14 We were skeptical about trying this restaurant as we are picky eaters but I am very happy we did. I had the Maui Maui sandwich and my mom had the chicken dish and they both were excellent. We will be making this one of our MUST DO’s while in Disney on our next trip. Everyone we encounted was very polite waiter, waitress, and hostess very polite. We really enjoyed our experience here. The only issue was that I had a hard time hearing Remy.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): pleasant atmosphere Cons: poor service, cold food, bad serving timing
Pete's comments on the podcast prompted me to share my experience.
We were a group of 8. The service was friendly enough, but sort of rushed through to take orders. Despite said rush, everyone got their food, and I didn't. I had to insist others start eating before their food gets cold.
By the time I got my food, the others were almost done. And not only that, it was COLD!
San Angel Inn was a better experience.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): yummy food, French authenticity, REMY!! Cons: screaming children and rude patrons who don't appreciate the ambiance
This was the second time for my husband and I to dine at Chefs de France, the first time being for dinner and this time being for lunch. Our dinner meal, in October 2008, was the Demi Poulet (half chicken) -- YUM! Very tasty, moist, perfect!
This time we selected the French Onion Soup (me) and Plate of Fromages (husband), both options were yummy and my husband discovered another French cheese he LOVES -- Port Salud. As we enjoyed our appetizers, out came Chef Remy! He was delightful...and was VERY happy to see my husband's cheese plate!
Our entrees were Croquet Monsieur (ham and cheese sandwich) -- also tasty...and rich, with Gruyere cheese inside and toasted atop the sandwich. Accompanying greens were wonderful. Too full for dessert, but our polite and helpful waitress convinced us to allow her to package them up for us to take away.
As enthusiasts of France (the actual country
, we can confidently report that Chefs de France truly holds true to French standards of quality in dining. Any "French rudeness" was NOT on the part of wait staff...but instead from patrons who should have chosen a plain old American restaurant instead!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Ambiance, service, desserts Cons: Entrees
My husband and I had dinner here on 12/17/10, part of the CP, on the DXDDP. We had ADRs in the 6 o'clock hour for the 8 o'clock show, but it was rainy cold and DH, who has rods and plates in his back from a surgery, was hurting badly enough to make him want to leave by 4 pm. Knowing we would lose 4 TS credits by missing the meal or cancelling, and knowing that there was no way we could last the day, I left DH in the America pavillion where he was sheltered and booked it to France to ask (beg) for a change of reservations. Despite an hour-long wait line for walk-ups, the managers listened to my problem and graciously took me right in and changed my CP cards to the earlier showing. DH made his way down and we were served by the incredible Jeremy, near a window. The restaurant was gorgeous and the service was better than any I have ever had, despite our rush to make it to the CP show. We both had salads (very good), and both loved our desserts (creme brulee and chocolate mousse cake), but the entrees left oh so much to be desired. I had the filet with potatoes and beans, all of which was perfectly cooked but exceptionally bland. I, the woman who never doctors or spices her food, so infrequently even cooks with salt that I have had the same bottle of Morton's for the first 3 years of my marriage, salted everything. Nothing had any taste at all. DH, lover of Tobasco and pepper, also commented that although his sides were okay, his chicken was very dry and more bland than anything he eaten in years. We didn't send anything back as we were strained for time and determined to enjoy our experience even if it wasn't what we had hoped. Considering the package was 2 TS credits per person, or $60 each person OOP, and the show itself was not all that I had expected (another story), I would NOT do the CP again. The establishment itself- I might return, but only for lunch, as our dinner would have been pricey CP or not. The ambiance, service, and creme brulee are the only highlights for me.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): ambiance Cons: slow service
The interior of the restaurant was beautiful! We had a great table by the window. The waitress was very friendly, but super slow!!! She made an error with one entree, but quickly got us another. I was not thrilled with the escargot, but loved the desserts!!! Would I return? Probably...it wasn't horrible, but wasn't my favorite.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Delicious French food Cons: Crowded dining room
Chefs de France was by far our favorite meal on our recent trip to WDW. Our reservation was for 6:30 pm, and thanks to an afternoon thunderstorm, the restaurant was really crowded. The wait staff did their best to accomodate all dining guests, but there were some delays with service. We were not in any big hurry, so we took the extra time to enjoy our surroundings.
We enjoyed the Prix Fix menu which was 3 courses ($40 for non-DDP patrons). The French onion soup was hot and bubbling with Gruyere cheese, and was delicious. I enjoyed the Gratin de Macaroni for my entree, and was really impressed with the creaminess of the cheese. Dessert was a very generous portion of vanilla creme brulee.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Excellent Food Cons: Make sure you are on time or you will miss your reservation
We ate here last week on the Delux DDP, with an ADR. OMG is the food beyond good.
The way they handle their reservations is a little different than how most places handle them. It doesn't matter how early you get there once your reservation time comes around they just start calling every reservation around that time whether you are there or not. So if you aren't there you lost your table so be on time. Although I have to say it was the smoothest I have seen ADR's handled at any other restaurant on property. Also we were there during the dead season (may have waited 15 mins at most for any ride) and they were strictly NO ADR = NO FOOD
As for the food it was delicious. We started out with an Escargot and the Onion Soup. I am a little tough on Escargot and thought that although good, the escargot they serve for Food and Wine is much better. But the Onion Soup OMG it is the best I have ever had I could have had a few of them just as a meal they were that good. For dinner we both had the Frutis De Mer, which was Mahi, Scallops, and Shrimp. Being from South Florida Mahi-Mahi is kind of like Cod to a northerner, although good we have it way too much. But for this meal OMG it was sooooo good. The Shrimp were HUGE and the Scallops were so tender, it was served in a red light sauce with gnocchi. For dessert I had the Creme Brulee and boy was it great. All in all we will definitely be back again very soon.

We had 7:30 ADR, but DD was getting tired, so we thought we would see if we could possibly get seated early. DH went by at 6:30 and we were seated about 5 minutes later.
The lobster bisque is wonderful! Both our entrees were very good. I had the rotisserie chicken with potatoes and grilled tomato. DH had the macaroni and cheese and raved about it.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): food, service Cons:
We came here with a party of 10 for lunch on 12/18. My husband and I had been here earlier for a dinner and were underwhelmed but some in our party wanted to try it for the first time and I'm glad we decided to go back.
Entrees chosen: croque monsieur, beef short ribs, roasted chicken, mahi mahi, macaroni n cheese, and quiche lorraine. Everyone loved their dishes. I had the mac n cheese---yummy. I couldn't eat it all.
Several chose the prix fixe and almost every one of them chose the onion soup. My daughter had the lobster bisque and loved it as well.
Dessert was also delicious for everyone. There was lots of sharing and mmmm-ing, yumm-ing all the way around.
Even the bread and butter was a big hit.
Will definitely go back.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Service, Remy Cons: None
Dec. 2010 - Remy is the real treat here as he makes his rounds (limited days/times) and interacts from the waiter's cart. Our food was very good. I tried escargot the first time, the beef short ribs were delicious... and desserts yum. We were seated right away and service was prompt and good. Will definitely come back here again.. or maybe try the other French restaurant upstairs.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Good food good service Cons: No glaring faults
DW and I dined here in Feb... Seated about 10 mn after ADR, but was busy and many were being turned away. Would rather wait outside than at a table inside. Escargot was good and DW loved the onion soup. We both decided on the short ribs which were great, but more than enough (could have shared) so people bagged and pick up a bottle of French wine for next day's dinner!!! Was great the second night also... (bought a can of peas at the villas for $2.98 to go with it, ouch!) Good service and nice atmosphere... a little noisy and busy busy but that's normal for Epcot dining. Will go back in the future.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Cons:
My nephew and I had lunch at Chefs De France and absolutely loved it. We had an ADR for 1:30pm and were seated promptly upon arrival. Our waiter was excellent and so was our interaction with Remy. The french onion soup was the best I ever had. The only two minor things were that I lemonaide I ordered was bottled fizzy stuff and cost $8! And the ham and cheese quiche was good, but forgettable. I was sorry I didn't try something else. It wasn't bad, just boring. All in all though we really enjoyed our lunch and will definitely be eating here again.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Everything!!! Cons: Price, if you aren't on the dining plan. But worth it!
This was our favorite restaurant of the entire trip. Hands down, the best food we've ever had. The restaurant (and the whole French pavilion) was gorgeous and romantic, and the wine selection was impressive. The food was fresh and amazing, from the fresh bread to the dessert!
We would definitely go back here in an instant. Highly recommended.
