The food served here comes straight from packages and the microwave, and lacks authentic flavor. By far the best offerings are the margaritas and the churros

The food here is not good. As another review mentions, you will get better food at Taco Bell. It's premade, prepackaged, warmed over and not worth the money. The only thing that seemed somewhat edible to me was the cheese/chicken quesdilla. It didn't look bad, but I didn't actually try it.
However, if you want a margarita, this is the place to go!! Tip the bartender decently and you will get an especially good margarita that will have you loopy by the time you hit the American pavillion. Yeehaw!

The location is good being right at the front of the World Showcase. But it is also bad because it is one of the first places that people decided to eat at and the seating isn't that plentiful.
If you can get a seat by the Lagoon the view is great, but there is usually always some kid trying to feed the seagulls.
The food is standard Mexican food. A step above Taco Bell, but a step below your local Mexican resturant. But saying that I did find the Cheese Quesdilla every tasty.
One other thing of notes the Chirro isn't available on the DDP. That sucks big time.

My daughter insisted on Mexican food for lunch, So I got her the combo plate while I sent my husband onto Norway for our food. The combo plate could easily be shared by two people. But really, there are no expensive ingredients on this plate. It should not cost $10. I could forgive the cost if the food was tasty. It is not. The food is greasy and the lettuce looks wilted.

It is nice to sit by the lake after the fireworks waiting for the crowds to leave before the extra magic hours begin, but skip order the food. The nachos I ordered were pre-made, and a bit cold. I asked for them with no peppers and was told that they were only on the corner of the nachos, so I could easily avoid them. Not cool. If you are dying for mexican food, go into the San Angel Inn. It is at least a little bit better food in there.

I don't love the food, but for the location and a change from burgers, we eat here. Portions are fairly generous, though expensive. The margarita bar is right there. They have great fresh churros.

Worst meal out of 14. Would not go back again. Only reason I gave it a 2 is because of the churro (which although not great was at least edible) My husband loves mexican food and did not even eat 1/2 of his burrito. Save the money and time--walk a hundred yards east and get something from the Norwegian bakery to tide you over until you can get somewhere else to eat a meal.

This restaurant offers a great view of Illuminations (but side to the side, not under the umbrellas, because they won't let you lower the umbrellas!)
The food, though, is only OK... And they don't offer very many options.

OK, OK, I know the food isn't the best around, but for some reason, my family and I really enjoy it here. We've been 3 times all on different trips and have always liked it. We've always eaten by the lagoon and it's been very peaceful and nice, maybe thats what helped our impressions (or was it the Margy's). The portions are pretty good sized and the combo platter at approx. $8.00 is a pretty good deal. I know others reviewers have beaten it up pretty good and I wouldn't try to change their mind, but if your looking to get away from the same 'ol same 'ol counter service burgers and nuggets, I think you should give it a try.

I thought the burrito that I had here was really good. My husband and I actually split it, because it was HUGE. My daughter and son split a chicken nugget/nacho combo. They liked it just fine. I had a churro for my dessert and it was YUMMY!!! Is all of this food authentic, probably not. I would say the burrito was not that far off par with the burritos at Moes (for those of you familiar with that chain). We were able to eat our food at their tables while watching the Illuminations show. Overall, I would highly recommend it for its location and large portions.

This was the big surprise of our recent trip to Walt Disney World. We made the last-minute decision to skip a second trip to Sunshine Seasons to pick up tacos and nachos quickly at this outdoor eatery. The quality of the food is a major improvement over the previous incarnation, and the setting is much more comfortable. We'll definitely have this on our list the next time we visit Epcot. The only downside is the limited menu options, which are just the basics of Mexican food.

This was a surprise! I was expecting just a quick meal and something my son would eat, but I probably had my best counter service of the trip! The beef tacos were wonderful! The have a green chile sauce you can have at the counter and it was wonderful! The chips were great to dump into cheese sauce. My son had the cheese empanada (sp?) and while it looked a little weird, he ate it all, and he usually isn't one to try new things. Being on the dining plan, this is one of the few meals I actually finished! I will be going here on my next trip!

Every time we have been there, it has been hard to get a table. They are just outdoor picnic tables under a canopy, so it is crowded and messy. The food is okay, nothing to write home about. We like being able to try the different kinds of margaritas, but they are pricy. This place can add up very quickly; it is not a cheap alternative to an indoor restaurant.
Whoever said you'd get a stronger margarita by "tipping the bartender," I have no idea what they meant, as we never saw a bartender, just an order window. They are basically just expensive flavored slushies.

Great place to grab a beer or margarita (the pomegranate liquor floater is pretty good too) and sit down with a plate of nachos, and watch the sunset over the water on the dock style seating area. Very limited seating probably 50 people max, one of the smallest counter service seating areas on the entire property. But the view is great if you can get a seat.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Food is familiar and not overcomplicated. Fresh chips! Cons: Food not presented carefully, lack of sauces/salsa, cast members bored, aggressive birds.
We dined at La Cantina for a late lunch (3:00pm) on Friday, January 25th. We waited in line for just a couple of minutes, the cast member who took our order was friendly, and our food was ready within five minutes. Unfortunately, the cast members serving the food from the window to the guest could not have looked like they cared less. The woman who handed me our food was standing not more than two feet from me and could not be bothered to look in my direction as she slid the tray toward me. Food was coming out of the window partially in the baskets and strewn across the tray. The cast members did not seem to notice. We ordered the cheese empanadas (three empanadas with green sauce and queso fresco on top plus freshly prepared torilla chips) and the chicken tacos (three small- 6 inch- tortillas with seasoned chicken inside with freshly prepared tortilla chips and one small container of salsa - approximately 2 tablespoons). There was no veggie/garnish on the tacos at all- no lettuce, no tomato, no cheese. They were quite plain. The salsa provided was not really enough for the order. There were some sauces (I would not describe them as salsas as they were liquid only) off to the side with the napkins, but only tiny little cups were provided for them (perhaps a tablespoon each). As a result, you really were eating a bunch of plain tortilla chips. We enjoyed the empanadas the most, but it's hard to go wrong with fried cheese. We sat near the water in the area directly opposite the serving window (not the pavilion area past the service windows over the water). They seemed to have a significant problem with birds on the ceiling beams over this area (but not in the other pavilion area). They had decoy birds and bird-avoidance calls playing, but crows and seagulls were still swooping into the area. Bird poop was very visible on the beams above. I previously enjoyed this location but think I'll look elsewhere for lunch next time.

We stopped in to eat here and the lines were ridiculous. There was very few things on the menu. When people passed us with their food, it looked exactly the same and bland, like it was premade and then thrown in the microwave. We left and went to the Lotus Blossom instead. Not great there, but a lot better than this.

did not see a recent review, so i thought i would give mine. wife and i went on 4-14-12. we both ordered the beef tacos. they were great!! the price was average for counter service. yes the patio seating is limited, but you can also use the tables in the next door restaurant. this is a must for us now.
next trip in 20 days!!!
