Bottom line here is that you'll find better (or at least as good) chinese food in your home town for significantly less money.
We've been there once since the restaurant re-opened after its make-over last year. The ambiance is wonderful and the presentation of the food is great. Service is also good.

We visited Nine Dragons after the remodel and were surprised at how much we enjoyed the meal. The staff was friendly and solicitous, and the food was well-seasoned and beautifully served. The variety on the menu leaves a bit to be desired - Sweet and Sour Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken can be found at any hometown restaurant (and probably taste a bit better without the generic taste to the sauces).
The menu is definitely an improvement over past efforts - and if you can't obtain ADRs anywhere else, this is a nice fallback.

As Chinese restaurants go, this was BAD. I'll admit, I will drive past several Chinese restaurants in my area to go to the one that I think is the best so I'm just a bit of a Chinese food snob, but this was downright awful. cold food, bad service, so so taste.

The food was not the usual greasy chinese. It was full of flavor and seemed a lot more healthy. I would definitely go back again.

The food here is great - we were all stuffed and satisfied when we left. The negatives here were that the dining room felt a bit like a cafeteria and we felt like we were being encouraged to eat quickly rather than relax and enjoy each course. That being said, we very much enjoyed our time here.

Ate dinner here on June 7, seated right away. DH had the egg rolls, they were horrid, filled with red and green pepper slices and dark meat chicken...nasty. I had the spring rolls/dumpling appie, it was ick too. DH had the fried rice, it was terrible and had 3 over cooked shrimp on top, loaded with ham..gross. I had the General Tso's chicken, it was soggy, white meat at least, no spice at all and just gummy.
Our server noticed we barely ate the food, he comped the entire bill.
We did eat the banana cheesecake egg roll which was great and the iced chai tea was yummy too.
No way would we go back here, the CS place is so much better,

December 2008, after the renovation of this restaurant, my family and I ate here and really enjoyed our meals! I had chai tea and sweet and sour chicken and we had spring rolls as an appetizer which were sooo good! I also have to mention that the service was top notch as well. The only problem is there are a lot of other great places to eat in world showcase, but if you eat here you will have a nice time and good food!

Dined (and I use that word sooo loosely) at the "Nine Dragons" August 2009. What can I add that has not already been said by many. The food is in a word CHEAP. This is what you can find in the worst "Wok-a-Do" store front restaurants in the Bronx. Only the food in those restaurants offer better flavor. The food seems to be the product of an unholy marriage of BAD Airline Chinese food and BAD Hospital Chinese food. What is truly sad, in my opinion, is that I'm sure that each and every one of the workers in the pavilion can produce better quality food on a hot-plate back in their apartment than they are forced to provide the customers of the "Nine Dragons" restaurant. They cannot, CANNOT be proud of the product they are serving. The cast are brought over to work and are representatives of their country. The food they serve must be an embarrassment. I feel so sorry for them and for all the customers who walk away thinking that these are the tastes and flavors of China.

I think some of the poor reviews here are a little out of line. 9 dragons might not be the best restaurant in world showcase, but it is definitely good. I ate here in January 2009, after the remodel and enjoyed my meal a lot. The prices are reasonable, considering that this is Disney, and the food was flavorful and tasty. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is very nice also.
I think that the main downside to 9 Dragons is that they are competing for your dining dollar against so many other better restaurants in world showcase. That said, lots of times you can't get in to those other restaurants since they are booked, so 9 dragons is a very nice "fall back" restaurant as you might be able to get a same day reservation or even just walk in.

This was the one unplanned meal of our stay and we should have planned better.
My husband ordered the cucumber app. which ended up being a plate of pickles. for $9 he got a plate of pickles- and this our server called "vegetables".
DH had the fish dish which basically was a fish on a plate- it tasted good, but no veggies with it!
I ordered the "honey sesame chicken" because our server said it came with veggies- about 1 Tablespoon of shredded root vegetasble in a vinegar dressing- no vegetables otherwise.
This was by far the worst restaurant we ate at during our stay, as well as the worst Chinese Restaurant I have ever had the displeasure to eat at- and Chinese is my FAVORITE food. One would think that eating chinese made by the chinese at the chinese pavilion would be a virtual trip to China, but do yourself a favor and eat Chinese at home!

Had lunch here in September 2009 and we had a prety good experience. I had the fried rice bowl, which I thought was good. My husband really liked the Honey chicken he ordered. For lunch, this place is a little pricey for just Chinese food. The atmosphere can be a little distracting because the tables are so close together. Overall, I would eat here again and was not dissapointed by the food.

We ate dinner at Nine Dragons at my husband’s request for our Candlelight Processional dinner package on December 9. In the past we have enjoyed our meals here, even if they aren’t terribly different from a meal at a local Chinese restaurant. However, I’m sorry to say that this time we were very disappointed.
Since we were doing the Candlelight Processional dinner package, we each got an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. For our appetizers, my husband and I both had the pot stickers, which were good, but pretty run of the mill. My dad had the cold cucumber salad, which he enjoyed, and my mom had the chicken consommé soup (wonton soup), which she didn’t care for. For our entrees, my dad had the one positively reviewed item—the five-spiced whitefish. He thought it had excellent flavor and wasn’t overly “fishy.” Sadly, the good news ends there. My husband and mom both had the sweet and sour pork, which they both found to be lacking. I tasted it, and I honestly didn’t think it was any better than a fast food type of Chinese restaurant. I had the Nine Dragons fried rice as my entrée, and it was extremely bland. Worst of all, they included dark meat pieces of chicken that weren’t very appetizing. I feel that for the prices they charge, the meat should be all white meat. For dessert, we weren’t really all that interested. But we went ahead and got dessert since it’s included in the package. My family all had the red bean strawberry ice cream, which my mom and husband didn’t like. I tasted it, and I did like it, though it’s texture is not like regular strawberry ice cream. I made the mistake of ordering the red rice pudding. It’s served like a cold soup, rather than in a congealed form like regular rice pudding. Honestly, it looked so unappetizing that we all chuckled when we saw it. I tried it, and sadly it tasted horrible. It was very grainy/nutty, and not at all good.
Based on this last experience, I can’t say we’ll be returning any time soon.

I was really looking forward to our meal here, but the heat earlier in the day was bothering me so when it came time for our ADR I wasn't really hungry. My sister and I both ordered the honey sesame chicken. It was good as usual. The chicken was moist and the sauce the right amount of sweetness. The service was OK. The tables do seem really close together. We were disappointed with the dessert selections. Last year I had the banana cheesecake eggroll, which was divine, but that is no longer on the menu. Major bummer. We opted for the ginger ice cream, which was OK. I wish they would bring back the banana cheesecake eggroll or at least provide a few more dessert options.

We have eaten here about 4-5 times and the food is excellent every time. Although it is nothing to write home about it is very good. The service is amazing, almost too fast.
Although it isn't listed on the menu on DIS, they have a family feast which is your best bet (especially if you are on the DDP without appetizers). It lets you get an appetizer which were great, then a few selections for dinner, and a dessert.
If you can manage to get a window view (we have gotten it about 75% of the time) during the illuminations show they dim the inside lights and pipe in the illuminations music and you can watch it from inside. We have done it three times and was beyond awesome, since you are above everyone walking around you have a perfect view.

DH and DD really liked the food, I wasn't impressed. Dh had General Tso chicken and DD had lo mein. I had Nine Dragon fried rice, it didn't have any flavor to it and there was no soy sauce to help! Couldn't ask server for sauce b/c she didn't come back til she brought our check. Had a bite of DD's lo mein and it was pretty good. Appetizers were better than my meal. We had shrimp toast and pot stickers.
Might try it again and get something different for me.

Awful food, overall it just lacked flavor. Kids had noodles with meatballs - meatballs were similar to those you get at Ikea, but the ones from Ikea are better. DH & I had Zha Jiang Noodles Sampler and eggrolls. The worst eggroll I have EVER had. Everything had some sauce to it, but it all lacked flavor. Service was ok, our waiter was friendly, but we did not see much of him.

I personally think that this place gets a bad rap. We enjoy eating here and it's one of my husbands favorites on property. Even my 5 yr old likes it.
It's pretty standard Chinese food. Nothing super exciting that way. The decor is lovely. It's always cool and inviting to stop and have a meal here.

We had never eaten at Nine Dragons because we felt it must not be that good, as it is always available. We actually had a good meal! The quality and quantity was good. Service was nice, wait-staff pleasant and a nice break from the hub-bub of touring.
Details: We had spent the day at Hollywood Studios and had taken the boat over to EPCOT International Gateway. We were a bit tired and used the boat ride and the sit down dinner to fuel up for an evening of fun. There were 7 of us ranging from 9 to 50's and they were able to seat us at a table together.
We enjoyed appetizers of Pot Stickers and General Tso dumplings. The “Tangy Red” sauce on the dumplings is not spicy and they would not have been as good if we had ordered them without the sauce. Both appetizers were very nice and kid friendly. Then between the 7 of us, we shared 4 full entrees and the kids shared a LoMein kids meal too. We had the Fragrant Five-Spiced Fish, (not spicy at all), The General Tso’s chicken, Kung Pao Chicken and Honey Sesame Chicken. Not a lot of vegetables, and we kind of over did it on the chicken. There was tons of food and we did not finish it all. One less entrée might have been ample as we had all had some of the appetizers. General Tso chicken was too similar to the Honey Sesame Chicken, I would not order them together again. All in all a nice meal, and the cost was in line with the typical Disney premium you pay to eat in the parks.

We truly enjoyed this restaurant. We had dined here a few years ago and wanted to return on our Thanksgiving trip in 2012. The menu choices are diverse enough for everyone to find something they enjoy. They have the absolute best iced tea I have found anywhere on property!
We arrived a few minutes early for our dinner and were seated almost immediately. The restaurant had quite a few people in it, but service was still excellent and prompt. My husband ordered the Zha Jiang Noodle Sampler and we all enjoyed sampling it. The serving size was huge and this was the hit item that we ordered. Don't miss out on the wonderful ice creams they serve for dessert here. Strawberry-red bean and Caramel-ginger may not sound very good, but they are delicious.
