Positive aspects of the product (pros): Long, classic ride, great scenery and details, really fast moving line Cons: people who take flash photos
An amazing classic ride. The last ride that Walt himself worked on. The high capacity means the line moves very quickly. The PotC at DL is much longer and better than the one at MK (and most people agree with that). DL's has more skeleton scenes and 2 drops and the beginning bayou scene.

Great for all pages! A nice 20 minute, air-conditioned escape from reality. Longer than the WDW version, the ride includes mild drops (the second drop is hardly so) and drunk pirates. Add in an awesome battle scenes and the town burning to the ground and you've got yourself a winner!

Every time I go to DL, I have to ride PoTC at least once. There are 2 mild drops that are fun. Just be sure you don't raise your arms before the drops. One time DH and I did that, they stopped the ride! After the drops, the ride is slow, relaxing, and the various scenes are enjoyable to watch and listen to. They have changed it to match up with the movie, so you will see Barbosa and Jack Sparrow. I especially enjoy the battle scene. It's fun to be caught in the middle of it!
Depending on what time of the year you go, the line for PoTC can be as short as 5 minutes to as long as 1 hour. There is no Fast Pass for this ride.

A must ride classic! Two pirate's hooks UP!
*Caution* if you have chlidren that are scared of heights, there is one gentle drop on this ride at the beginning. I would guess maybe a 10' drop.

We think this is one of the best rides at DL. Love the scenes, the music, the effects, the drops. New additions from the Pirates movies are worked in nicely.

Loved this ride! I am a huge fan of the POTC ride in WDW and the one in DL is even better! It seemed longer somehow and just better. It's amazing to know that Walt himself worked on this attraction! A must do!

This original DLR attraction has Walt's stamp all over it. From the moment you step inside the building, you are surrounded by the feel of the pirate world, including treasure, battles, skeletons, etc. The refurb that has taken place since the movie's release has enhanced it with some updated scenes and an amazing likeness of Captain Jack Sparrow. If you've ridden the WDW version, be prepared for more - this one is longer and even more detailed. Don't miss it!

Definitely one of the best rides EVER!! We LOVE this ride. As a nursing mom, I rode this 4 times in one day - used the cool & dark to nurse (my then 9-month old. Even that youn, she didn't mind the noise at all. I have NEVER waited more than 5 minutes for this ride - the line seems to always be moving.
This is my husband's absolute favorite ride. I can see how the dark and noise (cannons) could frighten some of the younger kids. My 3-year old thinks the pirates chasing each other and all the scenes are fabulous to look at - she doesn't get rattled by the noise. This was closed in September for refurbishment the week I was last there, so my son (now 10 mos) hasn't ridden on it yet. He is more sensitive to sound, so I imagine I'll be covering his ears when we visit in May and ride Pirates.
The first time I rode it was back in the early 90's after the Rodney King rioting - there were only maybe 100 people at DL - we rode Pirates 4 times in a row without getting out! When we visited in July 08 - there wasn't a line at all after the fireworks, so the operators offered us a second ride if we wanted to stay in the boat. AWESOME!!

I love this ride. Been on it probably 50 times and I still love it. The environment is great, its that cool bayou feeling.

There's not much not to like about this ride. From the gentle beginning on the Louisiana Bayou to the drops and pirate theming, from the high capacity (so the lines aren't unbearable) this is a must do at Disney.

Pirates is a great example of an attraction where the Disneyland version puts the WDW version to shame. Shorter queue and longer ride with more drops, riding Disneyland's version will forever ruin WDW's for us! Just wish the final treasure room scene was as grand as WDW's.

This was my favourite ride growing up and I was leary of seeing the refreshed version with Jack Sparrow but this ride is even better now. My kids weren't really excited to go on it when I brought them last year, but we went on 3 times in a row they loved it so much.
Visit in the evening when crowds are lighter and you can literally get off and go straight to the front of the line.
Keep your eyes peeled for the entrance - it is down a flight of steps and can be tricky to find.
