Another great classic attraction. It starts out with a haunted stretching room and then you board a doombuggy to ride through the mansion. Even though the ride's name makes it appear scary, there aren't major pop-out scenes. The ride is fun, especially looking around at the small details of the ride. From late September-early January the ride is decked out with Nightmare Before Christmas stuff. It adds a different twist to the ride (one that I personally like a lot)

I just have to give this a 10! I love both versions of the ride and it never gets old for me.

THIS IS FOR THE HOLIDAY VERSION
Jack Skellington has taken over the haunted mansion. This version is very fun, and if you love the traditional haunted mansion, there will be no change in opinion for this one. The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my favorite movies, and this ride gives a great summary of the plot. The new version of the movie comes with a bonus feature to "take a ride on the holiday mansion", so if you cannot get out to Disneyland for Christmas, it is nice to get some pixie dust in your home!

A great ride for the entire family. Our family enjoys the 'Christmas' version (Oct-Dec) much better than the original (the rest of the year), but DL purists probably prefer the original.

Love HM! Love how the building looks and there's even lots to look at as you're lining up. Once inside, the story just draws you in. Just be aware while in the stretching room, there is a loud bang at the end. I have seen many young kids cry at this point. As you leave the stretching room and head towards the doom buggies, the story continues with the pictures on the walls, the special effects, and even the torn curtains help add to the ambiance. Throughout the ride, you hear the HM song and it's fun to just hum along.
I also love the holiday version of HM. I especially enjoy the graveyard scene. Even though I've been on it many times, the holiday graveyard scene always amazes me. The color, the movement, the music - I enjoy it all!

Love the updates to the HM and the fact that they left lots of original items and effects while still making improvements.

I've been to the Haunted Mansion at Disney World dozens and dozens of times, but this was my first trip to the Disneyland version. Very little if anything was different. A great spooky ride without being too scary for kids. My 2 year old boy was cautious, but nothing scared him.

MY FAVORITE RIDE!!! This has been my favorite ride since my first trip to DW in the mid 70s. We visit DL several times a year, and this ride remains my favorite. During our 2007 visit, it was closed for refurbishment, in 2008 my daughter was 1-1/2, and she loved it, in 2009 - my daughter was 2-1/2, and a bit more leary of the whole thing - mostly the entrance with the room & lightening & thunder then the darkness. Once the ride went, she was ok - we made sure she knew these were "happy" ghosts.
The line moves pretty fast for this attraction - also one of the fun parts for my daughter. My 4-month old on the last visit did great also - loved all the different sights to see!! Nice that we could fit 4 in a seat too - my husband, toddler between us, me with baby in lap. That makes the ride more fun - when we can all be on it together.

A great Disney attraction. The stretching room may be a bit scary for the younger ones but the line moves incredibly fast. I actually prefer the "Haunted Mansion Holiday" overlay better than the standard ride.

Another classic that won't disappoint. My kids loved riding it just to find out what ghost they would get at the end!
