I have eaten a few times at Cafe Orleans for lunch and dinner, and have enjoyed the food there. The Monte Cristo sandwich is delicious, though very filling. I like that you can eat either indoors or outdoors, and have always received good service here. I also like that we can have a light-up Tinkerbell on our straw for our drinks. I really cannot think of any negatives for this place.

I just LOVE Cafe' Orleans! Honestly, I've enjoyed everything I've tried there. The gumbo with dirty rice is so good; I didn't even need to add hot sauce! The pommes-frites (garlic-parmesan fries) are a must-try, along with the Mickey shaped beignets (New Orleans style "donuts") with their creme anglaise and fruit sauces. Both the gumbo crepe and the seafood crepe are delicious. And, if you're like me and are one of the people who LOVE the Park's mint juleps (I find that one either loves them or hates them), you can get unlimited refills on them here! As for ambience, what can I say? You get a great view of New Orleans Square if you dine out on the patio, and it is especially nice after sunset!

Everyone enjoyed our dinner at Cafe Orleans! The pommes frites are to die for, for sure. Our main dishes for the adults - the monte cristo and a crepe were much enjoyed.
We had a wonderful server who observed the ruckus caused by the cherry in my mint julep (all three of my boys waaaaaaaaaaaanted it) and brought an entire plateful over to us.

I enjoy having a sit down meal at Disneyland, and there are few places to do that. We have eaten at Cafe Orleans a few times since they converted to a table service restaurant and we have enjoyed our meals there. This is a good place to go if you want to try the famous Monte Cristo sandwich (they serve it at the Blue Bayou but only at lunch and it is more expensive). We enjoy the outdoor seating as we can people watch and occasionally see entertainment on the walkways. On our last visit I had an issue with my part of my meal but the server took care of the problem immediately to our satisfaction. The service can be a little slow if you are trying to rush on to play in the park, but we find it a nice break.

We loved Cafe Orleans. We headed straight here when we arrived at DL. We were seated at one of the tables outside and it was so lovely to sit and watch everything going on, soak up the ambiance of Disneyland on our first trip and enjoy the wonderful food. Everything was absolutely yummy. The Monte Cristo's were fabulous. The Pomme Frits amazing. And I really enjoyed the french onion soup. Yes...we just had to try many different things and we enjoyed them all. The service was wonderful and they made us feel so welcome when they found out we had just arrived and had never visited DL before. It got our trip off to a perfect beginning.

This is a favorite of ours and we eat here nearly every visit. I love sitting on the patio and people watching. Rivers of America is so pretty!
The menu doesn't have much to offer but we always find something we like. I must warn you that the french onion soup is quite salty! We usually order the gumbo and a monte cristo, and of course we finish with mickey beignets!
I would make a priority seating if visiting during peak season, otherwise it should be a short wait. Service is usually decent, not always good. I wish they would come up with a new menu but otherwise I highly recommend it and will continue to eat here.

Haven't eaten there in a while because had a bad experience with the Monte Cristo - had it once before and we all liked it but had it again and everyone in our party got sick. It is too much - too sweet and just too much. I say steer away just in case - there are many other great options! Service is pretty good and VERY friendly, location is nice, patio is pretty and food is mostly good.

We loved Cafe Orleans, celebrated my 40th with Mont Cristo, Gumbo, Pomme Frites and Beignets. This was the best meal I had ever had at DL and we will return every trip from now on. Of everything we tried I loved the Gumbo the most!!

We went here for the first time this past April and loved it! I ordered the monte cristo sandwich which was really good the first few bites but it was too sweet after awhile. We also got the pommo frit fries...seriously to die for!! My DD got the mac and cheese, she loved. And my Fiancee got the chicken ceaser salad which was delicious as well! We will def make New Orleans Cafe a must eat place every time we visit DL!

We did dinner here & found everything to be hot & very good. We did the Pomme Fritas for starters, Gumbo & then shared the Monte Cristo Sandwiches. At the end of the meal we shared the Mickey beignets. We have sat inside the restaurant as well as sat out on their large patio area....both are very nice. The service was excellent!
For the $146, we had 2 starters, 6 cups gumbo & 3 monte cristo's, 2 kid meals, 6 drinks & 2 plates of the beignets.

We had dinner here on our last DL trip, and the food was excellent! Everyone enjoyed their meal, and we loved the pommes frites so much, we came back and had them again for a snack a few days later. They were served with a fabulous sauce remoulade dipping sauce. These were perhaps my single most favorite bite of food in the whole park.

We did not have reservations for here but we walked up right before they opened at 11:30 and got right in. It filled up really quickly too so we felt lucky to get in. The food is expensive here but it is large enough to share so it wasn't that bad. The childrens menu didn't have anything my daughter liked so I ordered her a cup of Gumbo. (way to spicey for her) so I ended up giving her part of my Monte Cristo and she loved that. I thought the Monte Cristo was really good but way too rich, I could only eat a few bites. The Pommes Frittes were soooo delicious. I was happy to just eat those, and my husband really liked the Onion soup. We would eat here again but I would probably try a salad or the chicken sansdwich.

I must echo what others have said. The food is great, even amazing at points, but the price point is high.
With that said, share with a friend and come out ahead. 3 of us shared the Pommes Frites, a bowl of Gumbo and the Monte Cristo sandwich, left full and probably had the three best dishes they had to offer. And paid a fraction of what it would cost to get 3 entrees. Had it only been two of us, we could have dropped the Gumbo and still had more than enough to eat.
Someone else at the table tried the Madri Gras Chicken Sandwich. They remarked that it was good but not as spectacular as the Monte Cristo sampling we gave them. Another tried the Crescent City Salad and remarked that it was the best blackened chicken salad they had tasted.
Great food, just be moderate and if you're still hungry, order a dessert.

This place is awesome!! It is now a "must-do" every trip (sometimes twice). On our last trip, this was the one and only place that all 5 of us completely cleaned our plates. My DH loves the Monte Cristo, I go for the gumbo (seriously delicious) and the pommes fries. My kids all ordered something different off kids menu: salmon, chicken breast w/spaghetti, and mac & cheese. We like to finish off the meal with a double order of beignets. They are light and puffed up with powdered sugar and dipping sauces. Looking forward to eating here again on our next trip!!

Love the Cafe Orleans! We had lunch there last week. It was cold outside so we couldn't dine on the terrace (which is preferable).
My daughter and I shared the Monte Cristo Sandwich and the Pommes Frites. Delicious!! The portions are so large it is easy to split between two people. The Monte Cristo was perfection, crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside. The french fries were warm and crispy with a light coating of parmesan cheese and garlic.
The Cafe Orleans does not have the atmosphere of Blue Bayou, which is gorgeous, but the food is much better.
