It has been a while since I have been here, but from what I remember, the burgers were large and juicy, and the onion rings were crispy and thick! I love a good thick onion ring with lots of ketchup!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): the View Cons: Normal park fare
When we eat normal park fare we love to go the the Hungry Bear. There are two levels of outside dinning areas, and the view of the water and boats passing makes for great atmosphere. The food is good and they have a turkey club as well as a veggie burger for those who want something a little different then burgers and chicken.
They also have a chocolate funnel cake for dessert that is a total sugar rush! If you love chocolate you have to try it!
If you want to get away from the crowds, go to the bottom level all the way to the end and you can have a nice quite dinning experience.

The best part of this restaurant is that during most times, you can get away from the crowds and have a nice lunch or dinner by the river. Kids can feed their leftover french fries/bread/crust to the ducks below, which even seems fun to me sometimes. The food is fresh and delicious - normal park food though. The turkey club is tasty and the grilled chicken caesar is a yummy and healthy option. Funnel cakes are offered for desert and are absolutely amazing!

We enjoy the food here. We keep our expectations fairly low since we are in a theme park and all theme park food is well...cheap for a big price.
We usually get the chicken sandwich and find it to be moist and tasty. I wish they had more condiments to add but it does it's job for a quick meal! The outdoor seating is nice! We love watching the ships come by as we eat
Bathrooms are located downstairs which is nice. Food isn't super fancy but like I said...you really can't expect much from any theme park.

My family likes Hungry Bear for thier burgers me for the funnel cakes and the club sandwhich!!! Those funnel cakes are a heart attack waiting to happen but boy what a way to go, my fav is the brownie topped version!!

We've done a number of meals at this restaurant. The dining area is 2 floors with plenty of tables & chairs. We enjoy sitting on the bottom floor & sitting by the water's edge. You can watch the Mark Twain, Columbia & the canoes go by as you eat.
We've always found the burgers, chicken sandwiches & fries to be good & hot.
$80 was for 6 adults & 3 kid meals with drinks.

On my most recent trip to Disneyland, I subscribed to one of their "meal plans" for the first time, so I ate a LOT more Disney food than on any previous trip. For the most part, I was plesantly surprised. However the Hungry Bear restaurant was our only big disappointment. The food was quite bad, even by theme park standards.
Our party mostly had burgers, which were pre-cooked, and then not even reheated to a hot and tasty temperature. These were like bad middle school cafeteria burgers, only cold and way, way overpriced.
One member of our party had a salad, which was also premade, but it had perhaps been sitting too long, as it was wilted, noticeably brown, and generally nasty.
Considering that this was the only truly bad meal we had while eating Disney food three times a day for six days, I think we did quite well, but we will certainly not be giving this restaurant another try during our November 2010 trip.

I'm glad to be the first glowing review for what seems to be the newly re-vamped menu.
I ordered the Pioneer Chili Burger and was delighted by how good it was. Even my girlfriend, who was very hesitant to try the sandwich, was stunned by how tastey (and not messy) it was.
But what really set off the meal was the Lemon Bumblee Cupcake. All 6 of my party tried and remarked that it might be their favorite treat inside the park. It is a must have!
My girlfriend said the Crispy Chicken Sandwich was fine (but not stellar) and everyone left enjoying their meals. No one tried the Fried Green Tomato sandwich, or Big Al's Salad, sadly, though I think everyone enjoyed what they had so much, they kind of wished they had been a bit more adventurous with their ordering like I had.
I went here as a child, and remember horrible burger and fries. As an adult, I'm glad to see things have changed boldly!

We love the new fried green tomato sandwich and sweet potato fries. My husband got a cheeseburger this time and said it wasn't bad either. We like to sit here and enjoy the view of the rives of america. I don't know if we have gotten lucky but it always seems to be a little quieter and calmer while eating back here too. Good for if you had kids that need to step away from the excitement of the parks to eat.
