Positive aspects of the product (pros): Lovely theming blends well with the "land". Good Service. Cons: Food was terrible. Chicken nuggets with sauce are not sweet and sour chicken.
We were excited to try out this new "asian" place when it opened. Made a reservation for our large group of 15 far in advance. Long story short, this was a poor excuse for Asian food. Sweet and Sour chicken does not consist of chicken nuggets with sauce on them. The best thing we had were the pot stickers, which were "okay" at best.
the restaurant itself blends beautifully with the surrounding "everest" theme though.

This was touted as a pan-asian restaurant before it opened. But the menu is so disappointing. Asian cuisine can have such wonderful flavors, but here it is bland, not bold. There is not much imagination on this menu.
Our server was rude and inattentive. This could have been a real success, but they really missed the mark with this place.

We ate dinner here in August 2008 using the free dining plan. I am a little confused by the negative reviews as our food was excellent.
We arrived about 20 minutes early for our ADR and were seated about 10 minutes later. We were seated upstairs by a window and had a great view of the parade. The fact that we were there in August made us appreciate the very cold A/C that much more. The decor reminds me somewhat of the Everest Expedition ride and my son and I enjoyed looking around on our way to and from the restroom.
My wife and I both had the Shaoxing Steak & Shrimp (A skirt steak and tempura-battered shrimp, jasmine rice, stir-fried veggies, with chili plum dipping sauce). We both found it to be excellent and would highly recommend it. We did not have any appetizers but I did have the Safari Ale which I thought was good enough to follow up with another one. My wife had some frozen drink which I cannot remember at this time.
My son had the Chicken LoMein which was good but your basic LoMein and my daughter had a chicken nugget kids meal.
I highly recommend the Yak & Yeti and will be eating here again this year when we visit again.

I really want to like the Yak & Yeti. The idea has such potential. But after 2 visits, I am definitely underwhelmed. The first time, we decided to order a bunch of appetizers, rather than entrees, (Dim Sum basket, lettuce cups, prawn crisps, etc.) and nothing really wowed us. The 2nd time, we shared an appetizer, entree and side dish, and were slightly happier with our meal, but still don't feel like we need to return. We shared the maple tamarind chicken, which was OK, but nothing to rave about, and was a very small portion of chicken with a lot of rice around it. Both times, we felt like the bill was much too high for the food that we had.
We may end up eating here again on future visits, but only because table service options are limited at Animal Kingdom and sometimes you just need to sit someplace cool for a while (since AK is apparently built on the surface of the sun). We tend not to do buffets, so Tusker House isn't really an option, and there is a Rainforest Cafe very close to home for us, so Yak & Yeti is the only logical choice if we want a TS option. But I don't expect to walk away thrilled with my meal.

The good thing is that there is now another sit down in AK. The bad thing, it is worse than the other two. I guess Disney doesn't get that I want good food at these price. I think the animals would throw this swill back.

We dined here in 9/08. Got seated in the front of the restaurant with a view to the outside for people and parade watching. We had the ribs and the steak and shrimp. Food was fantastic with lots of flavor, meat was tender, and we would've eaten there more than once on our trip if we didn't have other ressies. Service was a little slow but not bad. Overall it was a great experience. We highly recommend it despite some of the other dismal reviews.

The Yak and Yeti is a must do for our family each visit. This is one location where we love the atmosphere and have always had great service.
This past visit we even arrived two hours early for our ADR and were seated within 10 minutes.
Food is consistant, not the best, but not the standard hamburgers and chicken nuggets - which gets credit in our book.

I might be in the miniority, but I really liked this place. In a park as cramped and hot as AK, this place is a perfect get away. We sat in one of the upstairs rooms, so it wasn't loud or crowded. The entree wasn't great, but the wonton soup and the cream cheese wontons for dessert were some of the very best food we had our entire trip. Those two items are enough to make sure we get ADRs for our upcoming trip.

We have eaten here serveral times and enjoyed it every time. We have been able to walk up without an ADR several times and were seated immediately.
We always order the pot stickers, lettuce cups and egg rolls...and we love them!!! On our last trip we were seated on the second floor at the window...it was a great table...we were able to eat and watch the parade in the cool air conditioning. We will be going back on our next trip!!

I recently experienced this place for the first time with friends of mine and their youngest. The food here is great! I enjoyed my meal and dessert. Unlike other Disney table services I didn't feel that there was too much food on my plate. Definitely enough to fill you up and possibly have dessert. A suggestion is to make your reservation near the time of the afternoon parade. When you arrive at the restaurant ask to be seated on the second floor near the windows and you will have the best seat for the parade. Its a clear view and best of all airconditioned.

We had a WONDERFUL meal here! I had the beef and broccoli dish and my husband had the steak, we thought it was incredible. It was hard to sell the kids on the Chinese food options but they loved their meals as well. We already have another visit to Yak and Yeti planned for our upcoming trip. I thought the theming was nice and our server was outstanding!

I loved the theming of the Yak and Yeti but that was about it. My husband had ribs that were ok but kindof dry and tough. I had mahi-mahi that was ok, but a much smaller portion than I had the day before at Kona Cafe. The seasonings on my Mahi was non-exsistant. Thank goodness it was served with a sauce that was good but was not a large enough portion to make up for the bland fish and blander rice. Our waitress was not friendly at all when she learned we were on the dining plan until the very end when she received a cash tip then she 'magically' became nice and thanked us. I would give this another chance but would go in with even lower expectations the next time.

Hubby and I decided to finally try this restaurant and I was disappointed with the food. For an appetizer I ordered the pot stickers which I really enjoyed. For my entree I ordered the Lo Mein. The noodles and veggies on their own were OK but the chicken was over salted. My husband ordered the sweet and sour chicken and he liked it a lot. After sampling it I wish I had ordered it instead of the Lo Mein. For dessert we had the brownie sundae for two. No where on the menu did it say that the brownie had nuts in it, maybe it's something we should have assumed, but it was PACKED with walnuts, we could barely eat around them. The whipped cream tasted funny but the ice cream was good. The service was fine, nothing special but we will not be dining here again.

I am surprised at how many people gave this negative reviews. We ate lunch here in November 2008 and even though we were not feeling well that day (tummy problems), we still enjoyed our meal here. Our server was friendly and attentive, our food was served hot and fresh and it tasted great. I was sad that I couldn't eat it all since it was good. I wouldn't say it's the best Asian I've ever had, but it was very good. If I recall correctly, my husband had Sweet and Sour Chicken and I had the Beef and Brocolli.

The two times we ate here we enjoyed it. Our children (ages 9 and 13) loved the chicken with a honey sauce on it. On our first trip, I had a flank steak/shrimp combination. The flank steak was very good. For dessert, the banana/ice cream selection was very good. We look forward to returning to this restaurant.

I have eaten here twice and loved it both times. The draft beer is good (lots of Asian selections) and the food is very very good. I always get the steak and tempura, but other dishes looked good also. For an appetizer, make sure to get the fried green beans.
One hint is that you can often walk up and sit/eat at the bar with no wait. For a party of 2 with no kids, this is a huge advantage since unless you have an ADR or want to wait for 45+ minutes you often can't get in.

Me and my husband really liked this restaurant. We had a great table upstairs that overlooked the park. We both enjoyed what we ordered. We arrived as soon as they opened for lunch, so it was very quiet and a nice environment. Would love to go back on one of our next visits.

My husband and I dined here for lunch on 12/16/09. We had ADRs and were seated ahead of time, as we checked in 10 minutes early. Our server Adam was very congenial and helpful. We were on the DXDDP but were not very hungry, so we split a meal- pork pot stickers (wonderful), salmon entree (smelled a bit fishy but tasted great), and the fried wontons (amazing). The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, and the whole place was sparkling clean. This was one of my personal favorite dining experiences during our trip, and I would love to return.

We came half an hour before our reservation and were seated right away. Friendly staff. However, we were seated next to two noisy families with crying kids. Being two adults, my mother and myself, it seemed odd they wouldn't have seated us in the other side of the restaurant where two other couples were quietly eating. My mom ordered the ribs, the portion was HUGE and she said they were ok. With the ribs came fried rice and some veggies. It's definitely a man's meal. I had the grilled chicken breast and replaced the coconut rice with brown rice, it came with some veggies. It was the most balanced meal of our visit and I loved it. My mom had the skewered/wonton dessert and it was her favorite dessert of the trip.

Our first time to Y&Y (March 2010) was good....but could be improved upon because of our waiter. The waiter was the only one at the World we found to be absolutely horrible! It seemed that he forgot about us....we got our salads (which were DELICIOUS!!!) after 40 minutes of sitting! We noticed another table under his care who were on dessert when we got our salads. In fact, a random waiter was about to deliver our entrees and we commented that we still hadn't seen our salads.
Our entrees, which we began to eat after working our way through half of our salads, were delicious as well. My hubby had the Baby Back Ribs....which he loved! I had the Crispy Honey Chicken with jasmine rice....which was also delicious! For dessert we shared the Sorbet trio -- very tasty, but we could've done without the coconut topping on one of them (my hubby hates coconut).
We are planning a return trip to WDW in November and we'll be returning to Yak & Yeti....but we will request a different waiter!!!

Always a pleasure. We (two adult sisters) shared a veggie entree, a salad, and had two beers. Walked up (no res) and requested a window seat upstairs. We were told if we waited 15 mins we could have a down-stairs window. We waited 5 mins and had a lovely view. Our server was friendly with just the right amount of "attentiveness". She divided out the two dishes between us on separate plates.
We would always eat here.

Lunch here is always a stop for us in Animal Kingdom we love it. Especially when it is hot outside this is a great place to cool down and recharge to carry on for the day.
The pot stickers are really good as well as the egg rolls as an appetizer.
The ribs are amazingly good
The Sweet and Sour Mahi-Mahi is huge and great
The Honey Garlic Chicken is really good too.

We had dinner at Yak & Yeti, and were really impressed. The menu has a variety of Asian and Indian inspired items. They also have cheeseburgers for those who are less adventurous.
I enjoyed the Sweet & Sour Chicken and rice. The chicken had a very light breading on it, and all of the pieces were good cuts of chicken. For dessert, I highly recommend the Cheese Wontons with Pineapple. The honey sauce that is drizzled on the wontons is to die for; it was sweet without being overly sweet.
We were really impressed with our waitress, Jessica. She explained the menu and our dining options (DDP) really well, and gave us the perfect amount of time to review the menu before taking our orders. She refilled our drinks long before we would have to ask. Having Jessica as our waitress was really more like having dinner with friend.

We visited the Yak and Yeti in June of 2010 with our 2 sons (ages 6 and 7) and used our Disney Dining Plan. Although we had reservations, we waited about 15 minutes before being seated. This was not a huge problem, but the waiting area at this Restaurant is very small, and can only seat about 8 people. When we were led back to our table, we found ourselves in what appeared to be the smallest restaurant of Disney. The dining area we were in was quite small, and although it had the feeling of being "too tight" initially we found the benefit to be a quieter and more enjoyable dining experience.
We began our meal with the Pork Pot Stickers which were very good. We then enjoyed a meal that included Stir-Fried Beef & Broccoli, Crispy Honey Chicken, vegetable lo mein and egg rolls. The four of us finished our meal by sharing my wife's Fried Wontons and my Sorbet. These two desserts were large enough to satisfy the four of us. Our portions throughout the meal were enough to satisfy us, and the mix of flavors made for a very enjoyable meal.
What impressed me during this meal was the level of service and attention the cast members provided. Never an empty glass (although on this hot day we easily emptied our glasses 3-4 times each) and our empty plates were removed quickly and quietly. The cast members were available when needed but were never in the way. It also seemed that we were being taken care of by 4 or 5 cast members during our meal, rather than the typical scenario where several wait staff pass you by while taking care of "their" tables.
Overall I would say the food was good (not fantastic) but the service made this experience a great one. On our next trip, we'll likely try a different restaurant simply for variety, but the service we received will set the bar high for any Disney location we visit.

The wife and I walked in to lunch here. We hadn't planned on eating at Animal Kingdom. We were surprised that the park had such an inviting spot with strong food. More people should go here.
Tha Asian fare here is definitely a step up from the typical Chinese take-out you find in any city. The prices are a step up too, of course. The atmopshere is warm and almost intimate. It's one of the nicest table sit downs in any of the parks.
