This is a fast turning ride. It will whip you around. Its a cute ride and I would recommend it to older kids and up.

This is a good ride for older kids and adults that do not mind being shaken and rolled around. You can get yourself quite dizzy on this ride. Still alot of fun.

I thought this ride was horrible! I was jostled around, banging my arm against the side of the car. Before the ride even ended my arm hurt, my neck hurt, and I couldn't wait to get off.

I would not recommend this ride to anyone! It comes from the era when Disney muckedy-mucks were just phoning it in. It is hard to believe that this ride exists at the same park as Expedition Everest. I would not recommend for anyone.

Frankly, I quite riding this thing back some time ago. The spinning crushes the folks on the outside, and the roller coaster aspect of it is pretty lame. It bumps and jerks a lot, so if you have a bad back, don't even think of going on this one or the Dinousour. My teens do still like to ride it, but Mom and Dad have now opted out for good.

This ride could easily been seen at a county fair. It is tacky, lacks themeing, and feels downright unsafe to me. One time was enough. I'd rather sit in my hotel room and watch "Top 7 With Stacey" all day than ride this again.

This is absolutely nothing fancy. It's the same exact coaster you'd get at any state fair or large shopping mall.
Skip it, Disney's got rides that cost hundreds of millions to make. Pay the $2 next time you're at the mall and save your time for something better here.

I recently went on this after going on it a few years ago, and was highly disappointed. It's an uncomfortable vehicle, a jerky ride, and just not that fun. Plus the cheesy carnival theming of DinoRama takes away from the dramatic detail of Dinoland (and Animal Kingdom in general). I wouldn't recommend it.

The whole Chester & Hester area is a little county fair themed area within A.K. Here you will see some of the classic rides and games that have at one time or another visited your hometown. Of course this is done Disney style.
Primevil Whirl is an intense, quick spin on the rails of this compact ride, it's not for everyone though.

One of our family's favorite rides! You'll go spinning and dipping and turning as you ride this attraction. We were all laughing through the whole thing and no one felt at all queasy (go figure!)

I'm not sure whether I like this ride or not,but since there isn't a maybe choice, I said yes! It would be better if the cars didn't twirl around at various times, but again that is part of the ride. The theming could be better done, as it is though it fits in to the type of theming done throughout Dinoland.

For me this ride is just kind of blah. I don't really mind going on it (although I did end up with a bruise on my arm once from being slammed into the side of the car) but its not exciting enough to make me actually want to go on it. I like thrill rides. This is no thrill ride.
If you have a bad back, neck, or anything, this is probably the worst ride to go on. This is probably the least smooth ride I have ever been on - very jerky.

I have heard this called the Primeval Hurl deservedly so. Kids would like it but forget it adults. You can go on this ride in many other parks. It's even at the Wisconsin Dells Mt Olympia park where it's called OP-AH!. Disney bought this ride. They did not design it. It's Disney being cheap. The coaster never goes very fast but the car spins around. It also goes down little dips and up little hills. I guess I don't like it since I don't think it belongs there.

I haven't ridden this ride in a couple of years so things may have changed.... This is the same ride you might find at your local state fair. We know it around here as the Crazy Mouse and we love it. Disney's version? Not so much. The ride cars are actually painful to ride. There's a small rise (divider) in the seat that you slam against during the turns. Also, the padded lap bar was extremely mildewy and our hands and arms stunk when we got off. We had to go directly to the restroom to wash up. Gross. The cars at our local fair have smooth seats and no padding on the lap bars. Again, this may have changed by now and not everyone has had the same experience as we have had. This was a once and done for us. Actually, this entire section of the park is avoided now.

What an awful ride. You can definitely tell Disney didn't design it. It looks fun, but it's very jerky. I've been on similiar coasters that were much smoother and better than Primevil Whirl

This is by no means in my top 5 at Animal Kingdom, but I think it's still a lot of fun. My family and I cracked up at screaming during the spinning. That being said, don't go if there is a long wait. Check out something else.

Primeval Whirl used to be one of our favorite rides at AK. I did a lot of video of my family screaming on this ride. It was just a lot of fun. However, we noticed a change in this ride last December (2008) from the way it used to operate. Not certain if it was just the day we rode it, we went on it again this past trip (June 2009) and were greatly disappointed to find that they have changed the way the ride operates.
I asked a cast member about it and he gave me an answer that is probably accurate in his description of what is happening, but probably wrong in his reason for why it is happening.
Primeval Whirl used to be a fairly fluid ride. In that, I mean that you started off and didn't get jerked to a stop until the end of the ride (after going over those short little mogul-type hills). When your car went into a spin, it really went spinning. Not anymore. Apparently, for whatever reason, the car will hit the brakes during the ride; this also happens just prior to going into the "spin cycle," and that makes the spinning less forceful.
We rode the ride twice and the same things happened both times. When I asked the cast member, he said this was a safety feature to keep the cars from colliding. If the car detects it is too close to another car, an automatic braking system will engage. Braking is exactly what is happening at several points throughout this ride, but not because of a collision avoidance. They are just braking the car, but why? I couldn't tell. Both times, we were nowhere near another car. In fact, they wait a certain amount of time between cars before they launch each individual vehicle. The braking is not gentle; it's noticeably jerky and sudden (think end of the ride on Everest). It was intrusive enough that we noticed it and it actually made the ride kind of painful in that you are suddenly being slammed into the safety bar at several points throughout the ride. Also, the braking just before the spin cycle makes that part of the ride - the Whirl part - quite lame.
We were greatly disappointed in the way this ride has been changed and, until it's fixed, it's off our rotation for the AK park. That's sad because it was a favorite of ours, too.

this is a great rollercoaster once you're actually on it.
however the wait can be tough, disney needs to provide more airconditioning devices to keep you cool in this line.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): fun, cute, short lines Cons: spinning might not agree with you
I know this is an off the rack ride but I still love it. I wouldn't go on it right after lunch because of all the spinning and jerky movements but I would go on it and maybe more than once. Its just fun, cute and kind of silly ride that makes you think of fairs and small local amusement parks. It fits in well with the theme of the area its in.
