Positive aspects of the product (pros): newly renovated, private garden patio, loft style Cons: some rooms far from bus stop
when i reserved a room at Disney's Boardwalk Inn, i informed my AAA travel agent that i would be proposing to my girlfriend during my stay. when we came to check in, she had upgraded us to a garden suite, so my opinions are based on that. the room is a loft style, with a downstairs (couch, tv, mini kitchen, bathroom) and an upstairs (master bed, tv, closet, master bath with garden tub and shower).
the rooms were newly renovated (dec 08) and very well kept. the garden suites include access to the concierge lounge, which offers complementary breakfast, lunch, snack ,and drink offerings) which we used every day. be sure to take advantage of this if you have access, the quality is impressive.
since it was the holidays, the lobby area had a HUGE gingerbread display with Disney characters ... giving the lobby a great scent when you walk through!
our room was about a 3 minute walk to Disney's Boardwalk, very convenient. And about the same distance to the buses. ordered room service one of the nights, and was delivered promptly and was piping hot. i couldnt have asked for more for my first trip to the world.

Would not stay anywhere else, great romantic hotel with exceptional staff and grounds. Convenient to Epcot and DHS.
The Club Level staff are terrific and go above and beyond to make your stay special.

Excellent location just a pleasant stroll to Epcot or a little longer stroll to DHS. We stayed at the concierge deluxe room for the first time. Room was very beautiful, very large, newly redecorated (we stayed september 2008). The view was spectacular of the lake. The thing we didn't like was that our balcony was really tiny. So if that's important to you make sure you ask for a regular size balcony (our balcony was smaller than most, even smaller than non-concierge.

I was spoiled the first time i stayed on Disney property. A friend of mine invited me on a trip to florida with his family who were DVC members, and whose home resort was at the boardwalk. I was a sophomore in high school at the time, and i was not by any means an avid disney fan. I can honestly say that my time at the boardwalk changed that. Between the overly friendly cast members and the attention to detail that was so apparent in the resort, i became hooked on all things disney. I promised myself then that i would buy into DVC and choose the boardwalk as my home resort. I am now a sophomore in college and am finding myself closer and closer to my goal.
If you have the means, spring for the Boardwalk. The proximity to Epcot and the Studios is one of its awesome qualities!

We vacationed as a family at the Boardwalk Inn in January 2008, staying in two garden suites, and we really enjoyed our accomodations. The private gardens and view of the quiet pool/rose garden made for a very relaxing atmosphere. (And the picket fences and mailboxes were cute!) With a queen bed, pull out sofa, and 1 1/2 baths, this was a great space to spend a few days. The concierge lounge was comfortable and the staff top notch, though it is a bit of a walk from the garden suites to the lounge. While we used the quiet pool, which was practically outside our door, we never made the walk over to the main pool. I was a bit surprised by just how vast the resort is, but the variety of restaurants, number of stores, access to other Epcot area resorts, and quick walk to Epcot/DHS just can't be beat. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we've booked again for our December trip!

The Boardwalk entertainment was perhaps the highlight of our trip and the dining options are numerous when you take into account the fact that Epcot, Disney Studios and Beach/Yacht Club are within walking distance. A step below Beach/Yacht in room quality in my opinion and several steps below with respect to the pool but the Boardwalk is great fun.

I've stayed at the Boardwalk three times, each time in a villa and love this resort for its east coast atmosphere and boardwalk entertainment. Be it as an adult or with the kids, the boardwalk offers lots of fun diversions in the evening.
The location is perfect, especially traveling with a parent who uses a EVC (scooter) because of limited mobility. The option of jumping on a boat to Epcot and the Studios, or the option of a short walk to this parks is a big bonus - no loading onto and off a bus.
My only negative to this resort, is lack of food court. There's a bakery for the morning, but the line can become long at times.
Otherwise, the food options are to die for here, if you like to eat. Several eateries here, across the lagoon at the other resorts AND at Epcot, just a short trip away.
The opposite to the nightime entertainment is a quiet setting in the morning for a nice walk and cup of coffee.
The view from the boardwalk side is spectacular. The nearby resorts offer great options for dining, especially for character meal at Beach Club or ice cream at Beaches & Cream (the pool here is also great, if you can sneak in, as we have

The Boardwalk pool is great for the kids, with a really cool slide.
Two tips: if you use an EVC, be sure to ask for a room fitting this, as my father ended up with a great location just around the corner from the front desk. I compare this to an earlier visit when he requested a "ground floor" and was given one with a courtyard view, but we had to take an elevator up to the lobby and another back down to the boardwalk side of the resort - not convenient.
At the holiday time, the bell ringers program should be viewed, as well as any of the entertainment on the boardwalk at night. The holiday decorations also bring a festive feel and when Santa visits it really is a great setting for the kids.
If you're interested in my room opinion - well, this (villas) rooms are the best. The kitchen offered more than enough for our family of 7. Breakfast before leaving for the parks was a breeze, especially if you're willing to do the cooking (if cereal counts for cooking?) Regardless, the living room set up is great during downtime as you're not forced to sit on top of each other like a regular room at other resorts.
Now, we're not DVC members, but this resort is well-worth the money.

We stayed here in Oct 08 thanks to the 40% off code. I booked a standard room and when we checked in at 9am the CM said they had put us in a room over the parking lot so she was nice enough to switch us to a view of France and the quiet pool...that was perfect! A bit of a walk from the elevators but worth it
The quiet pool was never used so it was nice and peaceful for us.
The room was so clean and new, I loved it!
Flying Fish was incredible and the Boardwalk Bakery was good for a quick breakfast.
Cannot wait to stay here again in Oct 09...we received the 40% off code again so we are going to try CL Garden Suite!

We rented DVC pts for a stay in May. This is our first time at a DVC property and we loved it! The rooms are huge! The proximity for the parks cannot be beat! We took a nap one day and we had a 7:30 reservation for Chefs De France, we were able to wake up and roll out of bed at 7pm and be checked in by 7:15.
The staff also went above and beyond for us!

The location of this beautiful resort is stellar, and near-by dining options abound. The pool was nice, but our daughter was scared of the clown (when she was 3). The biggest negative was that our room was a very long hike from the central area. It was quite pretty and comfortable, however.

We just got home from our Disney World vacation last week. We stayed at the Beach Club Resort and loved it. Our children had a blast at the sand bottomed pool and water slide. I think they liked the hotel, pool, and Beaches and Cream better than the theme parks. The rooms were recently remodeled and the decor is very nice. The beds are comfortable and the a/c works great! The customer service at the Beach Club Resort is excellent. Charton, the front desk manager, was very accomodating. We were not happy with the location of our room when we checked in, so Charlton assigned us a new room that we were happy with. My Tiffany necklace was missing. The hotel's security, Carol, and the maid service manager, Kristin, came to our room. Long story short, Carol and Kristin found the maid cart of the maid that cleaned our room, emptied the vacuum cleaner bag, and found my diamond first and then the chain. I still can't believe they found my necklace. It's not in very good shape but I can get it repaired. Now I call that customer service. The only complaint that we had is that the restaurant, Cape May, which is located in the hotel is always booked. You can't just walk in and eat. You have to have a reservation to get in for breakfast, lunch and dinner and that was annoying. We purchased the meal plan and that was the smartest thing we did. One dinner for four, 2 adults and 2 kids, at Cape May would have cost us $100.00, but with the meal plan we only payed the tip. I would highly suggest that you purchase the meal plan. It's worth every penny.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and loved it. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. We could see the Eiffel Tower from the France pavilion in Epcot from our balcony. Beds were very comfortable.
The location was great - a quick walk to Epcot or DHS, plus all the Boardwalk has to offer. Bus service to MK and AK was fine, but not great. But the good thing was we could always hop on the Yacht and Beach Club bus and walk back to the resort.
The only problem is there's not really a quick place here to grab a meal. There's a bakery on the Boardwalk, and while it's good, it's pricey and lines were often long. Still, that's not a major drawback and I would definitely stay here again.

We just returned from a short stay at the BoardWalk Inn Innkeeper's Club October 8-11. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would gladly return.
We found the room (#4213) to be beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We had a very nice view of the BoardWalk and across Crescent Lake to the Swan/Dolphin and the Yacht/Beach Club. The beds were very comfortable, which is always nice after a long day at the parks. As far as the room itself goes, I have two minor complaints. First, the light in the shower area is very dim. I found it a little hard to see in there, so I typically kept the door open while showering to allow more light from the vanity area to come in. Secondly, our room was located right next to the ESPN Zone, where they would set up TV's outside the restaurant to watch games. This lasted late into the night (nearly to midnight on the night of the FL football game), and it was very loud in our room. I think Disney should have done a better job of soundproofing the BoardWalk view rooms, or perhaps they should not allow ESPN Zone to put TV's outside their restaurant. Other than that, our room was very comfortable and well appointed. The view was very nice!
As far as the concierge staff goes, they were really nice and super friendly. I can't think of a negative thing to say about them at all! The lounge itself was never crowded, and we enjoyed having little snacks throughout the day. My only small criticism would be that the evening desserts were a bit picked over on one of the evenings we went to the lounge. But what we did have was very, very tasty. Certainly the food is not enough to replace a meal (except for a continental type breakfast in the mornings), but it was great for a little snack or appetizer before dinner. It was VERY hot in WDW while we were there, so we enjoyed having cold beverages waiting for us in the lounge as well.
So overall I give it two thumbs up and would gladly return.

After many stays at the Contemporary it was going to be intresting how the Boardwalk would compare, well it was better then I thought. Their location speaks for itself and their Club Level Cast Members from the Innkeeper's Club are simply amazing.
