Positive aspects of the product (pros): Cons: transportation can take long time
I stayed in this resort back in Dec 2007 and I really liked. For a value restort, the rooms were well taken care of. Food court was nice. THhe walk to my room was not bad. I liked the theming. Only downfall was the shared transportation.

I have stayed here 2 times and I really liked my experiences both times. Not sure if they still do this but in the evening they have a Dance party and Movies by the pool. Also around dinner time they play WII in th emain seating area for dining, which my daughter won a Kiddie Casino Card. SHe was so proud
The biggest shocker to me was when we arrived early to begin our stay and they said our room was not ready, the CM told me the carpet was still wet. I was surprised to hear that and asked them why was that, they told me that they shampoo the rugs in the rooms between guests. I was very impressed with that and the general cleaniness that is Disney

We stayed in a Family Suite in Sept 0f 08. There were 5 of us, 3 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of room. It was nice having a separate Bedroom with 2 TV's and 2 Bathrooms. The kitchenette is stocked with paper goods and utensils along with the Refrigerator and microwave. The food court offered a nice basic variety of food. We have previously stayed in Mods but we really didn't notice much of a difference aside from not having a pool slide. We would stay here again.

Lots of kids, kids, kids and school groups. So if you can't take kids, don't stay here. It is a nice resort, and for the price, I would recommend it.

I stayed here in dec. 08 in a family suite, and i thought this idea is fabulous!!! While, yes it is basically two rooms opened up together, but it is excellent for small groups or families.
Me and my boyfriend stayed in the main bedroom, which was closed off from the living area. His sister and boyfriend stayed on the pull out couch, which they said was the best pull-out they ever slept on. It was nice to have two bathrooms so it didn't take us long to get ready in the morning, and it had a nice little kitchenette with a mini-fridge and paper plates and the like.
We were in the Jazz section on the first floor, very close to the main pool and the main building. We ate breakfast at the food court every morning, and the food was above average for a food court and enjoyed the hallway there that all the various pictures of musicians.
The only down side is that the wait times for the bus can get long to and from the theme parks at peak times. However, whenever it got too long, Disney would send extra buses to help out. I would recommend this resort and the family suites to any small group or family.

We stayed in Calypso 10 for one night just to try a value resort. In the daytime it is quite impressive for a "value" resort. Trying to sleep is another matter. Guest noise outside and in the rooms above, not to mention absurdly loud flushing toilets do not make for a good night sleep. Our son really enjoyed the arcade. While we didn't join in they seem to have several activities by the pool for the kids.

The pool activities are a big hit. My DD7 couldn't wait each day to see what the activities sign would have on it. Dancing, movies and games. They have Wii competitions on a huge screen.
No matter where you are in this resort you will not forget you are at Disney. Everywhere you look are giant icons to keep the young stimulated.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): very affordable, excellent themeing, friendly staff Cons: shares buses with the other All Star Resorts, long walk if you dont pay for a preferred room.
As soon as I got off the Magical Express, I was greeted by a Cast Member at the door. They were breaking in a new computer system during my stay, so check in took a litle longer than normal, but was still faster than any other hotel I stayed at.
I highly recommend paying extra for a preffered room. Your feet will thank you for the short walk from the bus stop at the end of the day.
My room was in Calypso building 1 on the ground floor, giving a beautiful view of the guitar shaped pool.
The room itself was small if your traveling with a group, but I was alone so it was the perfect size. I was surprised with the lack of themeing in the room.
the guitar shaped Calypso pool had a small island in the middle of it with the 3 Caballeros spraying water. after shift changes the life guards going off duty would lead guests in line dances. On select nights they show a recent Disney movie on a movie screen set up at poolside.
there were 10 buildings total devided into 5 themes. The Calypso buildings had giant maracas in front and the stairwells were giant conga drums.
The Jazz buildings had giant drum sets in front and a picture of a rumpet player covering the stairwells. There was also a lovely fountain in the middle of the sidewalk between the 2 buildings.
The Broadway buildings had Broadway style marquees in front and the stairwells were looked like the rear entrance to a theater.
The Rock buildings had giant jukeboxes in front and the country buildings had giant cowboy boots as well as a picnic area between the buildings.
where the sidewalks met leading to Jazz Broadway country and Rock buildings was a piano shaped pool with a statue of the Little Mermaid playing a guitar. There were musical notes embedded in the sidewalk to fit the musical theme.
The Note'able games arcade was well stock with classic video games as well as newer games.
The Intermission Food Court was small compared to the food court at the All Star Movies next door but was still had plenty of options. The food was excellent and was made in front of you garunteeing its freashness. They deliver pizzas to your room but I didnt use this feature so i cant review it.
Maestro Mickey's gift shop had any and everything you could possibly need.
The staff was very helpful and answered all my questions with a smile.
Only complaint I had was the buses are shared with the other 2 All Star Resorts so seating can be hard to come by especially after a long day of walking around the parks.

We stayed here in February 2007, so this review may be a bit outdated.
Our stay was 2/15/07-2/20/07. I was part of a large (150 or so students) school group coming to perform for Magic Music Days. The first third of us arrived at the resort around 9pm, and it took a really long time to check us all in-nearly an hour.
Rooms: Our entire group was assigned to Country Fair 5. I was in room 5407, right behind the violin. My mom, who was chaperoning, was by herself in room 5432-on the back side in the second to last room. It bordered the woods and was kind of creepy back there. This was before the rooms were updated, but they functioned well enough for us. I shared with two other girls and I don't recall there being any issues with space.
Transportation: We really did not experience many problems with transportation. Our specific group of 8 girls had some slow walkers, so we were often the last to board, and because there were so many of us anyway, we often required two buses. However, if other people mixed in with us, we let them board-none of this trampling that I've read about. I liked the chain queues to keep everyone organized. We did stand on some trips but that is to be expected. I think we only shared with the other All Stars once, on a return trip from the Magic Kingdom.
Restaurants: We found the food court to be adequate. Dinner (at 10:47pm) on the first night consisted of simple fare, and we ate breakfast there every morning. Mickey Waffles were great, and I'm sad they don't seem to offer them at the deluxe resorts.
Overall, this resort was sufficient for our needs. I would stay there again to save money, but we enjoy renting studios from DVC members at nearly the same cost.

We stayed at the ASMu in November of 2011. It was our first time. The hotel was clean, the pool was clean and heated and the food was good. It was not too crowded and the bus to the parks were not overfilled as I read could happen. I would definately recommend the All Star Music.

I booked this hotel last minute and used my Annual Pass Holder to get the rate I did.
I was pleasantly surprised at 2:30pm on 6/22 to find that I was upgraded from a standard room to a preferred, king size room. My room wasn't ready yet, but was told it would be within a half hour. Exactly a half hour later, my room was ready. (I received a text) I was placed on the first floor in Jazz Building 9. My room was placed between some family suites and I faced the main sidewalk. I was nervous about that because I didn't know how loud it was going to be, but it turned out to be okay.
I did have one issue. After going to Magic Kingdom and returning to my room, my key card didn't work. It was 2am and I went to the front desk to get issued a new key card. I was given attitude and was asked "Are you sure that's the right room?" After feeling insulted, I went and tried my new key card. Still didn't work. Instead of walking to the front desk again, I called from a phone. They sent security and it turned out my key pad battery was dead. After about 45 minutes, the security let me in manually. I wasn't expecting any compensation for the issue, but I was expecting some apologizes. Granted it wasn't the front desk or security's fault, but it was 2am and it was a problem. It was fixed the next day and I never heard anymore about it.
On this trip, ASMu did not share buses with the other All-Stars, which was nice.
Parking at ASMu was also not a problem.
I recommend this resort to anyone on a budget. The rooms are small, but I was traveling myself. For families, this resort is good if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in the room.
The Jazz section is really great. It's just outside the pool and is minutes from the main building.

I went on my first WDW vacation as an adult this past January with some friends and we stayed at the All-Star Music resort because of the price.
Upon arrival, the lobby was very busy and we had to wait in a pretty big line even though we had checked in online beforehand. The cast members were very nice at the end of the line and we got upgraded to a preferred room at the check-in without even requesting one! Thanks to this we were very close to the buses, dining area, and were facing the main pool.
Our room itself was adequate, and we had an amazing mousekeeper all week who did amazing things with our towels (and stuffed animals we acquired throughout the week!) not to mention she kept our room extremely clean. The rooms are small-yes but we went into it realizing that we probably weren't going to be spending much time in the room. Not once did we hear our neighbors and were only woken up by people walking by outside once or twice in the morning but never at night.
The food court is so-so, pretty basic quick service food...although during our stay they were quite lenient on what qualified for the DDP (snacks especially). The gift shop in the resort was pretty impressive though, a lot bigger than I thought it would be and it had a good collection of merchandise as well as things you might need in a pinch.
Transportation ran very frequently, I would say at the most we waited 15 minutes for a bus all week.. the only downside is that of course all three all-star resorts share the same buses so it can be crowded at peak times but there were also times when we were the only people on the bus.
Our least favorite thing about the resort were the roving bands of teenage tour groups. The all-star resorts I believe cater specifically to these groups as well as teenage sport teams and groups due to its price, so prepare for there to be teenagers everywhere! Most of them are polite but I can say at least five or six times we ran into rude teenagers in the food court area and they clogged some of the bus lines (not their fault) and a couple nights they were loud late at night out by the pool around midnight - 1 am but that is really not the resorts fault and I think they must have taken care of it because it promptly ended as quickly as it had began.
Overall I think the all-star music would be perfect for people traveling without kids, or even families on a budget that don't want anything out of their hotel other than a place to sleep, grab a bite, and a pool to chill out by. I would definitely stay here again and probably will because it's very affordable.

Stayed in Suite in Jazz building. Room was okay. Close to main building. Not a great theme.
Food court was okay. If I had the extra money and needed to sleep 6, I would consider Art of Animation or Fort Wilderness Cabins as a better choice.
