I would recommend Pop but it depends on the couple or family. When I travel solo or with agroup of girl friends we love Pop - adore Pop. It's wonderful to walk around at night and see the huge icons. The themeing is fun!
There are some really cool views from Pop. On my first visit I had an awesome view of fireworks one evening. I saw fireworks from Fantasmic, Illuminations and in the distance I could see Wishes.
I love the lay out of the resort. I had one of the farthest rooms but still it didn't take long to walk to the food court and on to the bus stop. It was a relaxing and beautiful walk at night. I love walking past the empty pools in the morning with the steam coming off.
I think the Everything Pop counter service is fabulous and one of the best CS on property. The store Everything Pop is wonderful as well. I like it better than the World of Disney store - not so overwhelming but still has the best of the best.
My rooms have always been clean, comfortable, and quiet. I can be pretty picky. I won't stay in a 3 star or less hotel in other cities but I will stay at Pop.
There are some negatives. I'm not fond of double beds for two people to share. It's vacation and I don't want to sacrifice by sleeping in a small bed unless I'm by myself.
I've heard that the rooms can get noisy but I've always had 4th floor, lake view rooms and have never heard a peep. I'm a very light sleeper.
I like that the bus system has one pick up area at the resort and that there are organized que's for this. I do wish that they were covered because that sun can be brutal even in the morning. I hate that the Pop bus que is the farthest at the parks and the busiest. I've expereinced on several occasions 1 - 1 1/2 hour waits just to get on the bus. And this is after the park has been closed for awhile or at the end of MVMCP. I've also seen them load two buses at the same time. So I've seen the good and the bad of the bus system at Pop. Others have posted that it's been quick and painless. I must have bad luck.
So highly recommend Pop but to certain people. It's not romantic, quaint, or luxurious. It's very alive and energetic.

We stayed at Pop Century as a family of 4 with two small children. The kids LOVED the theming and the bright icons throughout the resort. They also loved the kids splash pool area and goofy interactive water play area. For me, it was a bit pricey for a room that is so small and paper thin walls. For the price when staying on Disney property though, if you are budget minded it is a good place to stay. They have great bus service that isn't shared with any other resort so that is good. We enjoyed the food court and how many offerings they had as well, we could all find something to eat. My kids enjoyed the slush machines that we could refill our mugs with.
The gift shop and arcade are nice.
If you are staying in the 80's or 90's it can be quite a hike to get to the food court and buses, so we were happy our room was in the 50's section- great section in my oppinion.
It's fun exploring around and seeing the different icons assigned to the different years (50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's) and they even have music playing from that decade as you stroll around.
Overall, if you are on a budget and need a place to stay on Disney property than I would recommend Pop Century.

Any hotel that Disney has is going to be nice, but for a family of 4 the rooms are small. The amenities that you get at a Moderate Resort you do not get at a Value Resort, such as towels by the pool and covered areas with benches while waiting for the buses. Maybe to some folks this isn't important, but when you have small children it makes a difference.

I do love this resort, but I do feel if you are a group of adults on a trip to maybe go for a moderate if you can afford it. I found at times this resort can be loud near the pools and if there are groups staying there (the groups more often than not are at the All Stars). The rooms are small and the beds are small. You pay a premium for a king bed, and you may want to do that if you are a couple. However, it is a GREAT option for families on a budget! I wish they would finish out the classic years and add some suites. It is rumored this is coming.

This is a fun resort! The room and grounds were all very clean and taken care of. Loved the gift shop. We never ate in the food court so I am unable to review that. The bus service was great. Never had to wait more than a few minutes.

I have stayed at Pop Century numerous times over the past few years and I really like it. I think the Everything Pop gift shop is the best on property. It's a mini-World of Disney store.
The rooms are always clean, efficient, and comfortable. I have rarely been bothered by outside noise. Mousekeeping is good and have never had an issue with them either.
The Food Court is pricey and can be very crowded and congested at peak times, especially breakfast. This is the only value resort I've ever stayed at, but once I stayed here, I didn't see a point in staying at the All Stars given their remote location.

We have stayed here twice in the past 4 years. It is a great value for an onsite hotel/resort. The rooms are somewhat small,however, we don't spend a lot of time in our rooms. The theming is good and the oversized icons around the resort are great. The only drawback is, that with the size of the resort, you could end up in a section that is quite a hike to the bus stop and main building with the food court, which is pretty good by the way.

We've stayed at Pop 4 or 5 times. The themeing is great for the kids (the oversized elements like the giant big wheel, mickey phone, etc).
The rooms are pretty small, but we only use them for sleeping as we spend most of our time in the park -- can't see paying a lot for an empty room.
The food court has a lot of seating, which is great during high crowd times. Great shoping, too.
Mousekeeping is hit or miss.
Bus service can be a challenge at times, but not terrible either.

This is our family's favorite value resort. We like to stay on property because we enjoy the Dining Plan but we don't spend a lot of time in our rooms, so Value Resorts end up being sufficient for our needs.
The resort is colorful and whimsical. Its great seeing all of the memorabilia from the different decades. I love the early morning walk to the food court when its relatively quiet.
The food in the food court is pretty typical Value Resort food....adequate but nothing to rave about. If you are in the food court early enough, the staff (and some guests) gather for an energetic dance to wake everyone up.
The advantage to staying here versus the other Value Resorts is that transportation goes to and from only this resort. We never have never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus.
On the downside...the beds and rooms in general are small. Initially, when we had young and small children, one of these rooms would have been sufficient. We now have a 19 y o DD and 16 y o 6'1" DS so we can not stay in one room. My main complaint about Disney resorts overall is that there are NO affordable places for families with older children who need space and room in the beds. It still ends up being cheaper for us to get 2 rooms with Dining Plan than it is to stay at a larger Deluxe Resort.

Of all the value resorts we like POP the best. Not only because it's the newest but the theming is awesome. Large icons from the 60's and the 70's take you back to that time. At the check in area they have a lot memorabilia from years gone past. It's awesome to relieve the past looking at these items.

My family stayed here for Spring Break. This was our 5th time staying at Pop Century. I love this resort for its cleanliness, theming, and overall great cast members. My two boys love the pop jets, basically a soft area with water popping up from the ground. We have stayed in the '70's section each time. My husband and I were born in that decade and it is close to the food court and buses. My children also enjoy the playground in the 70's section. We had a fabulous mousekeeper during this trip. She always had our room clean early. We had the quick service dining plan and used some of our credits in the food court for lunch and supper. There was a lot of variety and really good food. The only time when I felt as though the food court was out of control was during breakfast. Spring Break breakfast at Pop Century is something to avoid at all costs. The buses, for the most part, were on short waits and friendly bus drivers. My family and I are already planning our 2010 Spring Break trip to WDW with plans to stay at Pop Century!

We've stayed at the Pop several times over the last few year and have always had a good experience.
The rooms are on the small side, but are always clean and well maintained. The rooms that have two double beds can feel crowded if you have older children. However, if you don't plan to spend a lot of time at the hotel this shouldn't be a problem. The pools are clean and large enough that you can enjoy your time there.
We enjoy walking around the grounds, the view of the lake is nice and it's fun reading the signs that have little factiods about various happenings in each decade.
The food court has enough offerings that you should be able to find something even for those picky eaters. The food court gets crowded at peak hours especially breakfast so going at an off time either early or late is a good idea.
The bus service works well, but be prepared to wait in line at park closing. We have waited 1 to 2 hours for a bus at the MK.
Overall this is a nice resort and definitely worth the price.

We love this place. The theming is very fun. Three pools - one with lots of action and two a little quieter. The room is very basic - about what you would expect at a 3 star anywhere else - but very clean and comfortable. The 1960's rooms are right around the center pool and closest to the main building. The 1970's rooms are adjacent to the '60s. The 1980s/1990s and the 1950s rooms are the furthest away from the main building and each area has a pool. If you like to be in the middle of the action or close to the food court, you definately would want to be in the 60s. The 70s are also fairly close, but a little quieter. If you don't mind a walk - the outlying 80s, 90s, and 50s are the quietest. The only drawback would be the lack of covered walkways in case of rain. The only dining here is a food court. The food was pretty decent - sandwiches, salads, burgers, pizza, pasta. Ample seating inside and some outside.

My DH and I stayed at the Pop Century for our first time in February 2009. We traveled with our DD, who was 4 months at the time, and my sister. Since we had 3 adults, we requested a room with 2 double beds.
Our room was in the 70's, building 10 (preferred location), and it was always very quiet. We were in a 4th floor corner room, and although it was 'remote' for the building, it was within a 3 minute walk of Everything Pop & Classic Hall.
Although the rooms are small, I never felt as though I was cramped in the room. However, I will most likely not stay at the Pop if I have 3 adults again. If DH and I are traveling with my DD as a family, we will gladly stay at Pop in a King bedded room.
The buses to the parks were always quick, and even if they filled, there was almost always another one within 5 minutes.
The food court did get hectic in the morning (between 7 & 9 AM), but generally the lines moved fast. The selection of food is very good, and the food service staff was always very friendly & accommodating to any special requests.
I recommend the Pop to small families or couples, but think that larger families (3 or more people) may find a moderate resort more comfortable.

I was a little nervous about my stay here b/c I had only stayed in moderate and deluxe resorts prior. I loved it here! It was so much fun to walk around and take pictures of the icons. The timeline was a fun journey as well.
THe room was big enough for us (3 adults), because we weren't in it very much. It was clean, and nice. I did miss the use of a refrigerator, but I could have paid for one if I really wanted it.
The pools were fun, but I missed water slides. We stayed in the 80's area, but enjoyed the Hippy Dippy pool more than the computer pool. THe flower fountains added some extra excitement.
We liked the food court here as well. Lots of variety.
The bus was really nice b/c there is only one stop, and it is not shared with any other resort. This is definitely a plus over the other value resorts. Even though our room looked to be far from the bus stop and lobby, it was still a short 5 minute walk.
Take time to explore the displays in the lobby. You'll have a lot of "remember when..." moments. Also, if you time it right you can watch the staff dance the Hustle or the Twist.

I have been to Disney 4 times since 2005 and have stayed at Pop Century every time. I love this resort! Everything is so close and the walking is very minimal. I have stayed in the 50's and 70's sections and find them to be awesome.
I know a lot of people complain about the moise level, I have not found this to be the case. Both times I have stayed in the 50's section I had first floor rooms facing the pool area. The noise level was minimal at night when I was sleeping. I have also never experienced any thunder toilet in the 50's buildings.
The last two visits I have stayed in the 70's facing Hourglass Lake. It is a bit quieter that the 50's pool front since the only people walking are your neighbors but nothing too noticeable. Both times here I have been on the second floor and actually noticed the thunder toilet more here than on the first floor.
Overall, I find that the rooms are more than sufficient for the traveler who is using the room for sleeping and showering. If I were to spend more time in my hotel room (who would in Disney?) I may want a bit bigger room, but as it is this room is more than large enough.
I also really love the food court at POP, even since they removed the frozen coke machine. The variety of food is unbelievable and very enjoyable.
The staff at POP has never been anything less than helpful and have always bent over backwards with any request. I also, really enjoy the airline check-in. This process has made my departure day stress free. Being able to check my luggage at the resort is also a great load off of my shoulders.
It truly is a magical experience at POP Century!

My husband and I have stayed here twice. Once in Feb of 2007 and Sept of 2004. Both times we were in the 80's section. We loved how close it was to the buses and the food court.
During our 2004 trip we were there during the hurricane. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone was safe and to not let it ruin our trip. The communication between the staff and guests was great also. They kept us up to date and informed.
Some of the things they did was to bring in the characters for the kids to meet. Games were also set up in the lobby. They did everything they could to entertain the kids while the parks were closed and before they had us in our rooms.
They also provided coolers and bagged lunches that we could purchace and have in our room during lockdown time. This was of course at a cost to us. However, that being said, we felt that the cost was very reasonable and had no problem paying the minor cost.
Also while we were in lockdown in our rooms they also put on several more movies on the in room tv so that we would have more to watch while in there.
Those are just a few of the things that they did for us. The staff was absoultly wonderful and never once did we hear grumbling or complaining. They were all very professional and went above and beyond.
Just to quickly address my cons: Crowds at the Food Court - at times the crowds could be very big at the food court. They could use to have a few more people on during the busy times. But those that they had there were doing everything the could to make it speedy.
Package Pick up- It was in Everything Pop and you had to wait in line while others purchaced items. They needed to have a separate area for pick up or better yet, deliver it to your room.
Overall a great place, and we'll be staying there again.

This is the resort I usually stay at when visiting WDW. It is the newest of the value resorts and just seems cleaner than the All Star resorts. The crescent shape means that you don't really have a long walk to the buses. I have stayed in the furthest building from the main building and it still didn't feel like a long walk. Because the value resorts get crowded the buses back to the resort is often crowded but Pop gets its own bus so it isn't a long ride once you are on the bus.

My overall experience with this resort was ok.
I thought the walls were VERY thin. I heard the guy coughing in the next room and heard their wake up call every morning. We heard the pressure washer every morning also. It's very annoying when you're trying to sleep.
The main pool was nice. The food court food was very good. It was neat to stay here.
But IMO, I'll pay the extra $ for a mod. or deluxe.

Our first stay at POP was in 2004 and we loved it, in subsequent trips we stayed off site and the last two trips we have been at Port Orleans French Quarter. For this last trip a week ago we decided to spend 10 days at POP. While it is a fine resort I feel like it's just not for us anymore. We found the room to be clean and comfortable but small. Housekeeping was great. The food was OK but nothing to write home about, plus they no longer serve red velvet cake.
The staff was friendly and efficient. I would not stay at POP again but not because there is anything actually wrong with the resort but because it's just not for us.

I've stayed at Pop Century probably the last 4 or 5 times we've gone to Disney. It is perfect for a family like us, one who goes to Disney often and just basically needs a somewhat cheaper place to sleep. We usually only come down to Disney for the amount of days we will be spending at the parks so we really don't hang out at the hotel much other than to eat breakfast and sleep.
I really like the food court, it has a lot of variety and is usually pretty stocked full of fruits and baked goods. The only problem is that if you don't get there before 8am it is super crowded and finding a seat can be tough. Last year we used the dining plan and they had several snack options that I used for breakfast.
The buses usually run pretty well, there have been a couple occasions where we have waited what seems like forever for a bus. I will say the bus service from DTD to Pop Century is horrible. We waited probably a good hour or more for a bus to come and by then there were more people than seats for the bus. There is no queue here so it's just a mad dash to get on the bus. Someone waiting 5 minutes might get on the bus before someone who's been waiting an hour.
Overall I definitely recommend this resort if you're going for the most economic place to stay. And put that together with the dining plan and you have yourself a good deal.

Theming is fun especially for children. The century gap bridge is a nice quite place for a couple to take an evening stroll. Great variety of choice at the food court....you just might want to get there before or after peak dining hours to avoid the chaos.

I enjoyed this resort better than any other value resort. One good thing about this resort is that you do not have to share a bus. With the All Star value resorts they sometimes share buses and you have to wait a very long time to get anywhere. I also liked the food court in this resort because it is close to the pool. A lot of times we would eat at the tables outside to enjoy the nice weather.

Just wished they didn't have the eyesore that was going to be classic years across Hourglass Lake.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): price Cons: cement blocks do not a hotel make
We got a good rate at this hotel for one night before going to the DVC room. I thought for $59 a night, I can take anything...wrong...we arrived around 7pm, and went to the food court..it was filthy, food on the floor, on the backs of the upholstered seats, it was a mess...ok, to the room..the hotel is just cement blocks that are painted...not appealing at all. We entered the tiny room, very very small, stained carpet, and I cculd hear everything around me, talking, laughing, bodily functions...and that was it...off to the front desk and we changed our reservation to the POR and paid the extra...I don't like this,,,a lot of people do, but I don't.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Love the theaming, The oversize Props, The Room Rates Cons: Room size Elevator in 70's building was stuffy
I stayed at Pop century durring My May 2004 WDW Trip. I was in the 70's wing near the Giant Big Wheel. The Room had A/C Issues. Did not cool down right away. The beds were great. The Elevator was Stuffy and somewhat slow moving. I love the Pools and the Food court. The Arcade had some of the best games I have ever seen. my room was $104 A Night for A 10 night stay. Love the overall theaming of the Buildings Brought back many memories
