Our family has enjoyed staying at the HOJO. They have one of the best pool areas for the "across the street" hotels. The staff was nice. The rooms are fine, nothing special, just an average room. I like how they have fridges in the room which a lot of the nearby motels do not have. They are across the street from Disneyland, but really across from upper Tomorrowland, so you do have to walk down the street past other motels to get to the entrance. The walk is doable, but isn't very conducive to tired feet and going back to the motel for an afternoon break. The pool area is one of the best and they have a great kids splash area. The grounds are nice--which is way better than the pool in the middle of the parking lot that other nearby motels have. We would stay here again if we couldn't stay on property.

I got an Entertainment rate here last week, so I couldn't turn it down for a spur-of-the-moment overnight with my six-year-old. I'd stay here again if I got another super cheap rate; the beds were comfy, the room was clean enough, and the location was good. It's certainly not luxurious, but I gave it an 8 for good value for the money!

Although this place was a favorite among many I was disappointed. I prefer to stay onsite and this hotel just doesn't compare! I found the room to be generally dirty. My kids feet were filthy after running around for a few minutes and it did not change all six days. The maid didn't clean the room well at all, things left on the floor, dust on the ledges, some kind of blackish tar in the bathroom. I was disgusted.
We had a 7th floor theme park view and were one of the few lucky ones that did not have a tree blocking it. Do not play for the view....most likely you will only have a big tree to look at. Not worth it. The only nice thing was the seperate sink out side of the bathroom. The fridge was small and dated. The beds were decently comfy. The kids splash area was just okay.
The walk to the hotel is long, especially with kids. When you want to take a break mid day it's a long walk in the hot sun. Then a long walk back after a full day in the parks. We also didn't like walking along harbor blvd. We saw many people who seemed shady and also came across two homeless men. Needless to say I did not feel safe! We have no future plans of ever staying here again.

I have to say I'm surprised by the negative reviews. We chose the Hojo originally based on all the great reviews on tripadvisor, and we were not dissapointed. It has become our DL hotel of choice.
The staff really is fantastic, and they bend over backwards to see to your needs. I also like they have a message board where you can see what the rooms look like, and find out about all sorts of questions you may have, both about the hotel and transportation, DL, etc.
The prices are very reasonable, and our hotel room was always very clean, as well as beautilly decorated. We had the sixth floor Disney view rooms, and while I agree the trees are in the way, we had no problems enjoying the fireworks the first night we were there.
There is both a heated pool and a 'castaway cove" play area, as well as a jacuzzi for parents. There's also a well supplied gift shop, a small game room, and laundry, if you need it.
As I said, we loved our stay, and are going back to the Hojo in a few weeks. I can't recommeend this hotel enough!
