Positive aspects of the product (pros): Walking distance Cons:
The Candy Cane is nice but nothing to jump up and down about. The best reason to stay here is that it is a short walk to the parks and the cost is reasonable. They also serve a pretty decent continental breakfast.

We stayed here in October 2009 and loved our stay. DH, DD(15) and I shared a standard room with two queen beds. The room was on the small side, but we were comfortable. Beds were very comfortable. It was quiet. Grounds are nicely landscaped. It is a short walk to parks, with no major streets to cross. CCI also has a dedicated shuttle to run its guests to and from the parks. The conteniental breakfast does not offer hot items (except instant oatmeal) but the selection of cold items provided enough variety that you will be fine even with a stay of a several days. Staff is very friendly. The whirlpool was hot, which I like. This wasn't built as a luxury hotel, so if that is what you are expecting you will be disappointed. It was built as a typical California motel, but the owners have done a lot to make it a charming place to stay and it offers a sharp contrast to many of the other motels along Harbor Blvd. My favorite place to stay off-property.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Quaint Cons: Noisy, NO SECONDARY LOCK ON DOOR
We stayed here for 2 nights 3 trips ago. We now prefer to stay at the Ramada Maingate.
Very quaint. Cute, pretty. But noisy. We had a second-floor room, and a TON of baby stuff to haul upstairs. There are no elevators. The only 1st floor room they had when we checked in was the first room as you pull in the drive, we didn't want that. The pool was open late, so there were a ton of tweens/kids swimming - it got pretty noisy even on the second floor across from the pool. Our then 1-1/2 year old was able to open the door - even after we "locked" it. There was no secondary type of lock - a chain would've been spectacular. Instead, we had to push one of the chairs in front of the door so she wouldn't wake up & wander out. Definitely not good or safe (n.b. - most of the CA hotels I've stayed in, I noticed a lack of secondary chain or other device). But, the Ramada Maingate had the "Extra" lock, so I wasn't worried about our daughter opening the door & escaping.
Breakfast was a non-event, as is most of these places. No where to sit once more than ~5 people were in the room. Grabbed donuts and bagels - enough to jump-start the day at Disney. Though it was charming, we just didn't love it enough to go back. Clean enough, though - very cramped rooms. nice toiletries.
